His free throw stance is just beautiful, I wish I could bounce twice & never lift my feet AND make the shot. The power and strength in his body is incredible!! I believe a lot of people could learn from his agility & how smooth his skills are.
He has amazing talent, energy, & is very hard working...even as a younger man, in this video, it is evident how incredible he is. His strengths seem to be how he never gives up & that he simply loves the sport. Most players become tired easily, but he continues to chase the ball, make the shots, and he seems to plan out his shots well enough to deliver a fabulous & enticing game.
@volsfan91 you're an idoit. i dont want to see any free throws at all. that doesnt showcase his talent. him making a few random foul shots doesnt mean anything. if u wanna emphasize his free throw shooting just give us a percentage

thats what they said about Roy Hibbert, but hey, he averages 7, 4, 1, 1 in 14min but he fouls to much. if he learnt to be aggressive without fouling he'd be a monster!!!
I'm thinking if we can get this guy playing at some point, he'll really help the team. Durant, Green, Westbrook, D.J. White, and Serge Ibaka....sounds like the makings of a future contender. I don't know about Carlesimo though, I wish we had Avery Johnson.
hey Serge is ok, he definatly has alot to work on if he wants to become an nba contestant, he aint no young Kevin Garnett but the NBA will either make or break him so we will see what happens.
his stock is rising among nba teams. he is already playing pro ball in spain against competition that is superior to anything at the ncaa level. kirilenko type of player. the video was back in his junior league days. he would be an all-american at 18 years of age if he was at a school like ucla.
Seattle isn't special, they're just like every other city, and when they mess up, they don't get a free pass. If you wanted to keep the team, you should have done what was necessary to achieve that, not stand outside of a courthouse with SOS shirts on chanting "Save Our Sonics" like a bunch of fairy douchemeisters. That wasn't gonna do a damn thing. And wake up and realize that this wasn't a screwjob like you guys want to think, you were the main culprits in losing your team. Oh well. OKC baby!
Is this the savior that the Seattle Sup-Sonics have been hollering for since Kemp?? I bet Presti even laid down the beats to this Ibaka mixed tape. And for you haters of the free-throw action, recognize! Free-throws are the new dunks in this game.
this guy is an athletic monster with good rebounding and defensive ability. he just needs to learn how to shoot. and as for the sonics moving to oklahoma city, it's a shame. i grew up with gary payton and shaun kemp (the few years he was good) and i will miss them. I still don't understand why Clay Bennett is moving from the 17th largest city to the 30th, where the per capita income is $10 grand less. best of luck for durant, green, and now westbrook
It's not about the size of the city, it's about the city's devotion to the team. Bennett's losing money every year he stays in Seattle. Key Arena is the smallest arena in the league. The year the Hornets played their home games in OKC they were in the top 10 in league attendance. And with a young bright-futured team like the Sonics coming in to OKC, it'll be a huge profit turnaround for the organization. And that's what an owner wants, money.
clay bennet was losing money here because the team was terrible...even though the stadium is too small, it was rarely sold out. they traded the only star player, ray allen, which left seattle without a big name guy to attract fans. while i think it was a good trade in the long run, it hurt attendance for sure. same with rashard lewis leaving. Oklahoma was just excited to have something to do other than go to a bull fight. lol
I hate OKC u takin our Sonics. It won't be long until the Sonics move out of Oklahoma. I hope Durant sucks in OKC. I'm sorry for sayin that but i'm so frustrated at where this team is goin.
I wouldn't be too sure of that. The people here love sports. OKC got a rare chance to actually prove itself with the Hornets and came through big time. Questions about the viability of the market were answered, and now we're about to be rewarded for our effort. Those guys will see that this really is a special place to play. And Bennett wants that team here, he's ready to build for the future in OKC, not Seattle where the fans take the team for granted. Blame yourselves, you dropped the ball.
You really don't know what you're talking about. You don't know what it is to support an NBA team. 2 years of supporting a team (in which many of the tickets were bought out by corporate interests) means jack squat compared to 41 years of love and support from the city of Seattle. Here, we love the Sonics more than OKC ever can. If you think this situation has anything to do with a perceived lack of support in Seattle, then you're completely ignorant about the situation and I can't help you.
Don't worry, the Sonics will certainly be saved alright.....when they relocate to a city that actually appreciates them. I'm not gonna say OKC is as exciting as Seattle, but when those guys get here and see the kind of support they get, that alone will make them think they've died and gone to heaven. Get ready to play in the loudest arena in the NBA boys....Ford Center-Oklahoma City. Kevin Durant will be a God here just like Chris Paul was....even though he destroyed OU, he's an ally now.
Dont talk like seattle doesnt support the Sonics! Weve been behind them for forty years... Its not the fans fault that the ownership sucks ass! Dont worry When the time comes Clay will move them away from Oklahoma and blame it on you too
Ownership sucks ass?! How about the fucking city and state legislators who wouldn't even put a new arena up for a vote to keep the team. They built new stadiums for the seahags and the mariners, you would think they would know that if someone who wasn't locally based didn't get a new arena, that he would move them. If the Cleveland Clowns can be moved from Ohio after 50 or 60 years, what makes you think any franchise is unmoveable? BTW, you guys still bitching about the Super Bowl 3 years ago?
lol, the sonics are the team considered most likely to draft him. Good to see some things never change even though they will switch cities. The sonics are quite notorious for drafting big men projects who completely suck.
This guy allegedly had the best vertical of anybody from the 2007 draft class. After seeing this video, I'm going to have to assume that's a lie. Anybody with that kind of vert and length shouldn't settle for layups. My apologies if this video is outdated, but he should be athletically developed at this age. At any rate, not sold on this guy at all. Looks like Sene, but I'm not seeing the shot blocking ability. Why risk it on him?
P.S. He steps on the line at the 1:00 minute mark.
a lot of the stuff you see him doing would be called over the back fouls or pushing in the NBA and he'll just get fustrated plus he's too frail to mix it up in the paint with the 250 pounders he'll see in the NBA needs to put on some pounds
i spent all lunch dogging on this guy because i heard the sonics might pick him with their second pick (like 24th or something) But i had never seen him. Sonics have taken some foreign bigs that just arent very good like sene and petro. I'm sure they looked good on video but you have to take into consideration the skill level of the competition. But this guy definately has potential. I hope they take a chance on him.
well he is 6'10 now and with his size and shooting ability, i think he'll be the best african player since the dream. and with regards to his "skill set", wat skill does he not have? just watch his rebounding, grabs the ball, keeps it high and strong. really good fundamentally. someone is gonna get a gem.
his stock is rising among nba teams. he is already playing pro ball in spain against competition that is superior to anything at the ncaa level. kirilenko type of player. the video was back in his junior league days. he would be an all-american at 18 years of age if he was at a school like ucla.
not impressed. He looks long and athletic..but then again so would I if im playing againts the players in this video...i dont think anyone was over 6'3..this dude is 6'10
your dumb no you wouldnt, what you should have said is that you are not sure bout his skill set. hes a superv athlete but im not sure about his skill set.
in some of the clips the hoops looked smaller or bigger than regulation. Also, there was probably none or 1 black person on each team? None taller than him? He's only 6'10.
its amazing all the hate that is plagued all over youtube. its people like you that make this website fucking gay. its like people are on a mission to just diss people with every comment they make on here. i mean, i incorrectly name a song, and then its like i'm going to get hanged for it. sorry i don't listen and know as many rap songs as you do, i think i simple reply of "no its not that, it was this..." would have been more appropriate. happy easter by the way.
hes all right...look at him..hes at leat 6'7" 6'8" and i just want to see some good competition..hes jumping over white players..thats pretty easy..hes good though
the cav's don't have scouts who can judge talent or that dred word protential this cat looks like the next larry nance but they would'nt draft him because that have no ability to see talent ala- damon jones, sasha p,eric snow, dwayne jones, lance allred, all scrubs who remain on the team.
He's good, projected around the lottery now. He may take a little while to get used to the talent level in the NBA. He is a hell of an athlete though.
MUy grande este hombre ("Niño") este verano estaba en El parke de estació Sants (BCN) algun dia jugando, aparte de su físico, metía cantidad de tiros de 3 y un chico muy ameno y simpático la verdad.
Damn he is so fluid and quick, this kid has a lot of potential, dont see too many post moves though, hope he doesnt fall too in love with his jumper, though it does look sweet.
He shows as an outstanding shot-blocking threat, being incredibly quick off his feet, but also showing great timing to rotate from the weakside and erase shots from above the top of the square. He plays hard for every minute he's out on the floor, often skying from out of nowhere to hammer home an offensive rebound.
We're not used to seeing big men come off curls and pull up fluidly for a catch and shoot 17 footer, but this is a semi-polished weapon that Ibaka already has in his arsenal but also took time to go inside the paint at times to throw down some monster dunks in traffic. Ibaka even knocked down a 3-pointer during one occasion, showing off the type of versatility you don't expect on first glance.
DRAFTEXPRESScom ADIDAS NATIONS EXPERIENCE AUGUST 2007 IN NEW ORLEANS: Standing 6-10 with a ridiculous wingspan and near-jaw dropping athleticism, Serge obviously looks the part of your typical NBA lottery prospect. But unlike most African players, he also plays like one too.
Hey owenmalcolm that coment isnt smart, this guy is just amazing! He'll be lottery pick in 1-2 years. Fortunately you will have the chance to check it soon and could learn how to evaluate kids. Even in Africa or other countries such kind of diamonds could appear in the middle of nowhere and maybe you should remember that lately U.S. team with big NBA pros has been beaten by every single worldwide national team... Write down this name and write here again in 2 years :-) Good luck my friend!
You've got to be kidding me. This is supposed to be a highlight video? He doesn't dominate the paint (very few dunks), looks like he's not very coordinated, etc. This guy couldn't start for a lot of NCAA teams.
what does dunking have to do with dominating the paint?? he put the ball in hoop, 2 points it doesn't matter. good post moves and rebounding is dominating, dunking is just an added flare, it might strike fear in players but thats about it..

Drayer22 4 years ago
the cav's don't have scouts who can judge talent or that dred word protential this cat looks like the next larry nance but they would'nt draft him because that have no ability to see talent ala- damon jones, sasha p,eric snow, dwayne jones, lance allred, all scrubs who remain on the team.

He's good, projected around the lottery now. He may take a little while to get used to the talent level in the NBA. He is a hell of an athlete though.
Juvenile404 4 years ago
impressive, but he needs to learn how to box out. seems to be getting boards just on pure physicality rather than technique.

hes gonna go low 1st round, he hogs it wheres the court vision? Though those guys on that team must suc compared to him so I don't blame him. lol

MUy grande este hombre ("Niño") este verano estaba en El parke de estació Sants (BCN) algun dia jugando, aparte de su físico, metía cantidad de tiros de 3 y un chico muy ameno y simpático la verdad.

NBA lock. What an athlete. He's got a lot of storms to weather playing against men, but that shooting form isn't going away.

bryant365 4 years ago
Damn he is so fluid and quick, this kid has a lot of potential, dont see too many post moves though, hope he doesnt fall too in love with his jumper, though it does look sweet.
iamerection39 4 years ago
there is no way he'll be a raptor, he'll probably go top 5 in the draft next year.
rockinthesuburbs 4 years ago
i agree , what would they want 2 of the same guy for anyway?
beasly56 4 years ago
He will be a Toronto Raptor its pretty damn obvious!! bring back the excitement that my fav player Vince Carter left behind!
cambyman21 4 years ago
He shows as an outstanding shot-blocking threat, being incredibly quick off his feet, but also showing great timing to rotate from the weakside and erase shots from above the top of the square. He plays hard for every minute he's out on the floor, often skying from out of nowhere to hammer home an offensive rebound.

We're not used to seeing big men come off curls and pull up fluidly for a catch and shoot 17 footer, but this is a semi-polished weapon that Ibaka already has in his arsenal but also took time to go inside the paint at times to throw down some monster dunks in traffic. Ibaka even knocked down a 3-pointer during one occasion, showing off the type of versatility you don't expect on first glance.

what you talkin bout? chris bosh , dirk, garnett all pull up 17 anyday

Write down this name and write here again in 2 years :-) Good luck my friend!

jordivs 4 years ago
You've got to be kidding me. This is supposed to be a highlight video? He doesn't dominate the paint (very few dunks), looks like he's not very coordinated, etc. This guy couldn't start for a lot of NCAA teams.
owenmalcolm 4 years ago
what does dunking have to do with dominating the paint?? he put the ball in hoop, 2 points it doesn't matter. good post moves and rebounding is dominating, dunking is just an added flare, it might strike fear in players but thats about it..
