This version was included in a book of Military jokes that for some reason surfaced as fact in some media outlets to the point that media hounded the US Navy if it actually happened. Some media simply posted it as news without doing research.
I literally burst out laughing when Canada said in a bored tone, "This is a lighthouse... your call." Absolutely hilarious.
