I use to visit every summer. love Maine and enjoyed New England, a far cry from :East L.A. Glad you enjoy the music. Have you ever heard Ruben and my version of Star Spangled Banner or America the Beautiful? It's done in a doo wop version and we recorded it for the Bicentennial as a Chicano doo wop tribute. This song was written by Frog Camarena from EastLos and arranged by Frank Z and Tony Duran, our lead guitar player. All of us are still alive except Bill Wild, our bass player. Ruben still performs around L.A. Froggie has an internet radio show "chungaradio" Tony lives in Waco, Tex. Buffalo is a tattoo artist. My name is Johnny, I played the hammond b-3 and sang the bass and falsetto parts on vocals. I also sang lead on "Dedicated to the ONe I love." and "Dust My bues.'

The story I know is that Ruben Guevara hung around the Central West Side of LA, and may or may not have recorded his first music at Berendo Jr. High School (near the Pico-Union Dope Ghetto) back in the 60's-70's. This area of LA as well as Echo Park,Eagle Rock and other mid city area's , are where Linda Rhonstadt,The Eagles,Jackson Browne,Crosby,Stills,Nash & Young once lived and roomed together on their way up.
