dude its broken i had a 40gb ps3 now i have a 120 on my 40 i tried to play ps1 games on it and the same screen appeared on myn and the sony company said its broken so you have to call sony then they will email you forms then you fill it out then send it in

my 80gb plays ps1 and ps2 games i got the metal gear solid bundle if you got the one i have it should work just go to online instruction manuals the icon on your ps3 and check wich ps3 model you have

u need to burn it on a CD-R not a DVD-R or DVD-RW cos i twont work i have tried that's why im buying a whole pack of CD-R discs so i can burn MGS1 etc. ff7 u know the drill

If you have psn go onto add onns and you will find ps2 system data some where. download it and your ps3 will now play ps1 and ps2 games.

yeah ps3 cant play ps2 only cause ps2 runs on a emotion engine ps3 on the other hand is power engine so you see ps2 s incompatible with ps3 for good reason bye having a emotion engine and power together like the old ps3 systems causes a major lag people didn't want that so they had complaints with the beta consoles makes ya wish there was super capability huh but the ps3 still lights my day up lol

get the 60gb ps3, those will play ps2 games, if you want it to be an 80gb you can always buy thae hd seprately and take the 60 gb hd out and put the 80gb hd in.

your ps3 can only play original (black disc) psone games. if you mod your ps3 with ''switch mod'' (highly not recommended) or you open your ps3's bluray drive (not recommended either) and do what everyone used to do on psone switch original disc with copied disc. !!!(i do not recommend doing this cous this can damage ur ps3 and woid ur warranty)!!!
