Pretty similar really, but still a differant species of the same kingdom of creature.

@aflyingspoon I'd rather not try to get into biological specifics (kingdom, species), but Uruk-hai do tend to fall within "orc-kind". Uruks are half-breeds between Men and Orcs. Goblin and Orc is used pretty well interchangeably by Tolkien.

Despite all the comments to to the contrary, there really isn't any substance I can think of in the Star Wars universe that is actually "lightsaber proof." There are ways to protect yourself from one, such as imbuing your hand with the Force so you are technically not touching the blade, or in some circumstances vibro-weapons can actually catch lightsabers. There is also the matter of Vader's helmet, but that could have easily been the Force keeping the blade away, but I don't actually know.

Also, the Star Wars universe gets a little... wonky... on the note of lightsabers. Since the blade is not a solid object, has no weight and is only projected light and energy from the hilt, it should technically be able to cut through anything at the speed the wielder can move it. This was thrown into question in Episode I, when Qui-gon Jinn used his lightsaber to very slowly cut through a blast door.

there a few force users in Star Wars who can grab light saber blades with their bare hands, as they are masterful of force deflect or force absorb, so they deflect or absorb the blade's energy, some even being able to break the blade by disrupting its energy arc. Then there are things that can resist light saber blades in star wars, like Phrik, or Cortosis, the Magna Guard Staffs were made of Phrik and Sith Lords of the distant past had light saber blocking armor like Darth Bane
