  • Is there anything special or good tips to know when re-assembling the weapon. I hear don't use oil use grease. I would not know what to grease and how much. Perhaps a demonstration of proper cleaning of this weapon....i.e...what to clean, method good tip carbon deposits and so forth.

  • @KAP32DW grease similar to the Garand. Especially on the bolt roller where it goes into the op rod, and a few other small spots. Maybe I should do a future video on the maintenance of such a fine rifle ?

  • @KAP32DW I think a video on the proper maintenance of a M1A would be a good video to watch and garner numerous hits. For example I hear must use a coated rod otherwise you damage rifling...these are the untold tips you could incorporate into a video coming from a trusted source it would be very valuable. I enjoyed your video and bookmarked it for future reference. Thank You

  • lovin this vid!!

  • Great job, i was in the Corp 1963-1968 and have a M14 and its great to see that others love it like i do! I'll keep watching, always good to get more info! HORAW!

  • Great video! Thanks!!

  • Excellent video, thanks for sharing this information on how to disassemble and clean the M1A. Much easier to learn from watching your video than reading a manual!

  • you know i never could figure out how disaseble than sona bitch untill i saw how to do it.

  • How about bolt disassembly?

  • Nice job on this. You don't sound like you're from ME. though.

  • @Parkwoodparkenfarker

Nope. Been in Maine for 7 years now.I'm from western NC originally.

  • Hi, In your opinion will an M1A handle the 180 grain rounds?

  • @ekimtoor The AMTU reported that heavy bullets used in the M14 can lead to early unlock in some rifles, causing an unsafe condition. Stick to bullet weights of 175 gns and under. Stick with an IMR 4895 powder for the heavier bullets. A word o warning though... don't use any powder slower than IMR 4064. As long as you don't load anything heavier than a 180 grn bullet, you should be fine.

  • Big help thanks mate

  • Had the service version in the armry when I was stationed in DC. Excellent weapon. Extremely accurate.
