  • i wish i lived in portugal.

  • Many have forgotten that we have lost much freedom of action since the first world war.At the beginning of the 20th century all "drugs" were legal, nobody gave a rat`s ass what you were smoking in your pipe. There was no income taxes, people were living more independently in rural areas,on a family farm. This was the best system for peaceful living, now it has deteriorated so we didn`t improve as a society but have devolved.

  • NOTHING GOOD COMES OUT OF DRUGS...

  • @Sirafrican

That's the silliest thing I've ever heard.

  • Comment removed

  • Not to bring a race issue into this but Being a black male growing up in a black community in my opinion I personally feel that drugs was one of the major contributors to the downfall of black community still to this day. Many people are working class people in the black community and for the majority of them to waste they're income on getting high to cope with all their problems instead of providing for their families is terrible. If you think drugs are good then that's your opinion.

  • @Sirafrican

I absolutely agree with you, I'm simply opposed to sweeping generalizations about drugs. Plus, if drugs were legalized, it's safe to say that the drug-related problems in low income/black communities would disappear.

  • Geez, just legalize them all! And other thing even more ridiculous is prohibiting minors from alcohol and smoking. Why only adults can have it? Because they're more responsible??? YOU GOTTA BE KIDDING!! Oh because we have to protect our youth's health?? THEN WHY DON'T WE ADULTS SET A GOOD EXAMPLE BY PROHIBITING TO EVERYBODY ELSE??? That's one of the things that f**ng pissed me off as a child. F**** HYPOCRISY.

  • If a dumbass wants to ruin his life,

Let them. Why should people waste time, money, and energy on these "drug dealers"? Why should we spend money trying to stop/treat these idiots wasting their lives? Natural selection. The idiots can go ahead and die while the smart, healthy people continue living.

  • @veothrax

The theory is that once drugs become legalized, the negative aspects associated with them (robbing, overdosing, etc.) will become eliminated. And in some cases, choosing to take drugs is, in fact, a "smart, healthy" thing to do. Don't let yourself be brainwashed.

  • Where there is mind, there will continue to be a need to relieve the mind, from life, undo the pressure valves, release the heartache and pain. The cleanest way may be to meditate on a mountain top for 20 years, but who has the money and time to do that, decriminalise it, for i am my own person, and that plant is god given. Nature knows best, with no known side effects.

  • They love to blend the discussion about legalizing marijuana with legalizing hard drugs. Also they confuse the entire point he makes about hard drugs - he's for decriminalization and strict regulation. For marijuana he's for legalization with strict regulation (exactly like alcohol and tobacco which both pose a far more serious health and social risk)

  • I think cannabis should be legal but the heavy drugs.. Sure its up to each individual person and maybe not everyone gets addicted, right away.

But the thing is, with most HEAVY drugs, you do get addicted in the end.

It can ruin lives and families etc.

Most legal drugs are dangerous though..

I grew up with my mom who where a alcohol/drug abuser.

The alcohol caused way more dangerous effects on her than the drugs.

But the drugs did their bad part as well.

    Drug withdrawal is harsh.

  • If there is a government-funded "war" on drugs, there is a lot of treason going on. So many people that want us to "say no" to drugs say "yes" to psychotropic drugging by perscription. This is when children are stamped with some meaningless diagnosis like "bipolar" or ADHD and are then prescribed an addictive drug. But this is perfectly "legal". Strange logic at work in this "drug war".

  • If there is a government-funded "war" on drugs, there is alot of treason going on. So many people that want us to "say no" to drugs say "yes" to psychotropic drugging by perscription. Children can be stamped with some meaningless diagnosis like "bipolar" or ADHD and is prescribed an addictive drug. Kinda strange.

  • cocaine isnt that bad for you and when you legalize any drug regulate it, it would be good

  • Has anyone ever met a person who said that the only reason he or she doesn't smoke crack is because it's illegal. If you think that legalization would make use go up, then you are assuming that there are hordes of people like this. Give me a break. The war on drugs does nothing but make criminals rich and cause gun violence.

  • I honestly don't think heroin, cocaine, and other hard drugs should be legal simply because they are more dangerous than alcohol, tobacco, or marijuana. However I also do not think it is logically possible for the government to control what the people decide to put into their bodies. It is human nature to consume what you want regardless of whether or not it is good for you. I do not think the drug laws will ever stop the drug use. However making marijuana legal could decrease hard drug use! CON

  • FOX are fucking hipocriz! They don't want it legalized, they just want more attention/ fans who can actualy relate to FOX on 1 subjects without it just being a racist statement. They KNOW it's just a matter of time before leagalization, they just wana try get their ratings up.

  • WTF IS THE GOVERNMENT REALY THAT FUCKED IN THE HEAD MABY THIS WOULD STOP THE DRUG WAR BUT I GARENTEE U ITS JUST GOING TO GET WORSE IN TIME PEOPLE WILL DIE,LIVES RUIND,KIDS WILL END UP DOING METH AND HEROIN AT AN EARLY AGE. I COULD UNDERSTAND Y MARY JANE IS GETING LEGALIZED ITS PRACTICALEE HARMLESS BUT HEROIN AND METH ..THIS IS JUST GOING TO FUCK OUR PEOPLE N COUNTRY UP EVEN MORE

  • Decriminalize hard drugs like heroine and meth. Legalize and safely distribute soft drugs like shrooms and weed. Stupid drug shit!

  • What do you prefer? To let the people you vote for controlling the drugs, or to let the criminals controlling them?

    Prohibition=uncontrollable drug creation and proliferation.

    Non prohibition= controllable drug market.

Prohibition leads to addiction to criminal money. This leads to more crimes, and more drugs. It leads to the corruption of the democracies. The sooner we stop prohibition, the sooner we can protect the children, and the elders.

  • telling people they cant smoke pot is like telling them they cant jack off.they are both harmless enjoyable activities and it would be an increadible violation of human rights to put them in jail for it.legalize it

  • I am so sick of phoney do gooders telling me what I can & can't put in my body! I suffer from back pain & have to travel to Florida to get pain medication because unlike other states the pain clinics will help you there. There is nothing free about this country !!!

  • the drug laws in this country have failed for years, I say lets try a different approach and Legalize

drugs like Marijuana and tax them. bring back hemp for manufacturing purposes,

and let the states make some real tax revenue.

  • America needs to end the war against Americans!!!

  • Prohibition end it now. Watch this to see how it is so easy to do.

    watch?v=HjabEapzXbo

There are more stressed out users on the roads now going across town to get their drugs and driving home loaded than there would be with a legal intoxicant system.

  • sweep123456789 r u a fucking idiot??? alcohol is one of the fucking main causes of death next to tobacco and i want u to tell me how many ppl have died smoking weed.. dont worry i'll wait. and if u dont know u should take your head out of your ass and learn the truth

  • Alcohol is worse then weed, in terms of medical effects, however i believe more accidents are reported due to the fact it is legal. if pot was legal we would hear a lot more of fatalities related with it. However i am not concerned with pot, hell if everyone becomes a stoner, the job market will be easier for a guy like me :) but legalizing heroine, crack and meth simply has no benefits.

  • alcohol doesn't make the people dumber

Marijuana impinges on the central nervous system by attaching to brain's neurons and interfering with normal communication between the neurons

  • @whilemex

    Alcohol doesn't make people dumber????

Have you ever tried it? Met someone who was drunk? It absolutely makes you dumber. Both when you're drinking and after years of use. Obviously I'm not saying we should criminalize it, but don't make stupid unsubstantiated claims

  • Serotonin also attaches to the brain's neurons and interferes with its communication between neurons. So does dopamine, melatonin, norepinephrine, every endorphin, every endocannabinoid, and oh, what do you know...dimethyltryptamine, the strongest psychedelic drug known to man. None of these make people "dumber," but rather they make people who they are. THC does this too, and likewise, that doesn't mean it makes people dumber.

  • And I certainly hope you realize that alcohol, too, does this. And while it may not make people dumber as a general rule, it certainly impairs their judgement enough to cause them to make some pretty stupid decisions while under its influence. Marijuana, as well as all of the neurotransmitters I mentioned, don't do that.

  • @whilemex

Well first, ethanol (= alcohol) does alse interfere normal neuronal transmission as do caffeine and nicotine. Second, alcohol does not only interfere synaptic transmission, it also goes right into the cell due to its small molecular size, interfering intracellular signaling as well as those biochemical processes needed to keep the neurons alive. It does that by denaturing the cellular proteins. That's also why we use ethanol to kill bacteria and co. on the workbenches in laboratories

  • So, alcohol could indeed make people dumber by killing neurons. And unlike the vast majority of other recreational drugs, which have quite a specific toxicity profile, alcohol not only damages the neurons but also all the other celltypes in your body.

This whole War on Drugs is bullshit.

  • @whilemex Your post conflicts with all of my vast experience. I am a long time pot smoker. Many of my friends are raging alcoholics. I go out with them all the time. At the end of the night, the drinkers can't speak or think; and the pot head (me!) is driving them all home safely.

    Alcohol absolutely makes people worthless

The secret about pot- not only does it not make you dumb, it actually INCREASES critical thinking and creative skills areas of brain

It's really the best thing ever!

    LEGALIZE

  • god dam drugies! cant stand it with all these peoples on the weed and heron. disgusting. waste of space. my 1 mate did the drugs and now hes dead. happens all the time. why dont people just drink, no harm in that, innit. these drugs they get in your bones. disgusting. what you want to do is get these drugies of to that afaganstan, sort em out proper.

  • wow you are a fucking retard, weed is less harmful then alcohol

Do some fucking research before you start bashing every single thing your goverment tells you to bash

And a guy who uses pot every now and then aint no fucking druggie, unless a guy who has a few beers a week is considered an alcoholic

    Ignorant douchebag..

  • na your not getting it!!! Alcohol and weed are two different things like. Weed is a drug and a class A and therefore itis VERY bad for you. Alcohol is in drinks and is legal so therefore it cant do no harm. Grow up and wisen up. The government always has our best interests at heart, why would they lie!!! No ones ever died from drinking alcohol :). But look at the number of deaths from people who have used drugs before. bloody load of em. dam drugies

  • oh you're a troll,fuck off

  • You are one dumb motherfucker or just trolling.

  • lol at the end

    ''forget bout it..''

  • Did you notice the secnd dude who spoke was a drug Czar.

  • Duh.

  • It is time to legalize all drugs. The so-called "war on drugs" killed thousands of people. If an individual wants to take drugs in his/her home, no one has the right to stop him/her. It is individual freedom. Criminalization of drugs is a violation of civil liberty.

  • @AquaticRobot Cant't legalize these drugs, and control them. Because the law makers goodbuddies would not be able to hook you up at the local pharmacy!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • jesusfuckingchrist you republican christians are dumb. You are stagnant and not progressing your country and new ideas.

    You theistic people are dumb!

  • "That's political suicide." ? So standing up for what you believe in is less important than how people view you? I don't get Fox, typical propaganda bs.

  • FUCK FOX!!!!!!!

  • IN every orifice or hole one cna conceieve.

Fox people and the people who watch the dumb 'news'' show are the very people who are holding your America and the civilized world back.

    I can't believe it's even legal.

  • Cops would have more time to chase down murderers? 40%+ of murders are because of drugs

  • because of drug illegality you mean.

  • yes

  • where did you EXACTLY got that information?

  • So what % of murder are drug related? more than 40%? less than 40%?

    This information is anectdotal.

All the time ive spent in jail, ive lived in NYC my whole life AT LEAST 40% of the murders here are drug related.

I apoligizing for not specifying what the 40% related to.

  • Drugs create havoc worldwide, and by legitimizing them that havoc will be even worse. The world is not just the US.

  • why would it get worse? drug addicts could get help a lot easier, they wouldnt get thrown in jail, cops would have more time to chase down murderers. We wouldnt need as many cops so korruption within law enforcement would go down. No one would get drugs from dealers, drugs would be of better and safer quality, people wouldnt get hep c or hiv from exchanging needles... I only see good things coming out of legalization...

  • check out Lisbons plan

  • i'm brazilian and your talking gibberish.

  • you know, drugs have only really been linked to crime since they were made a crime. if they were legal, people wouldnt turn to such measures to get it like killing people. so, pretty much, the fact that they are illegal is probably what causes that havoc you close minded prick.

  • Exactly!

    Well said!

  • Comment removed

  • brinaghenry. i highly highly highly doubt that is true. whats your source?

  • My kids don't consume alcohol, for we've instructed them of it's danger. My kids don't smoke tobacco for the same reasons. What makes some believe that if drugs were decriminalized that people would instantly become "addicts"? Illicit drugs are pricey, leading to burglary, theft, and even an occasional murder.

  • yeah, and when they legalization we fail, I submit, YET FURTHER STILL.

  • ...that's not even a sentence in proper English anyone can understand. Please re-submit your comment in a manner I can respond to.

  • Double major economics and philosophy. Philosophy encompasses a large collection of ideas, so I assume that the field of philosophy to which you were exposed was irrational philosophy. I deal in rational philosophy (e.g. Aristotelian). I deal not with whims and irrationality but with logic and reasoning, from which I can derive fundamental rights of man.

So you would rather forfeit our freedom of choice? You would rather, instead of letting the markets decide, have a central planner?

  • No, I have myself reviewed the subject and its many participants throughout many periods of history i.e. Plato, Aristotelian period, Enlightenment Era, Post-Modernism, etc)

    My area is actually INST.

However, I will be brief. I do not favor a central planner approach. I do favor globalization and a global change of human consciousness. I am also a former advocate of leg. but today advocate a liberal world....using marijuana however is, in my opinion, illogical, and irrational.

  • What sort of change?

I agree: using marijuana or any sort of substance to artificially alter the state of mind is irrational by nature, for the consequences of such action do not further one's life but diminish it.

However, drug laws take away the people's right to choose in order to force them to be rational. That action in itself is contradictory, for one is rational by choice. Hence, although I would never resort to irrational behavior (drugs), I am for giving people the right to choose.

  • that is the stupidest thing i have ever heard. your saying that you guys are a nation of decency and the rights of others because you put thousands of innocent people in jail for smoking a natural plant when all it does is make them feel good. that alone proves that you guys are an indecent nation and you do not respect the rights of others. at all

  • @brutalhumandeath please do not associate the people of the U.S. with the U.S. Government.

  • @Gunmetallink12 soooooooo true.. our government is a joke, theyd rather spend billions of dollars trying to jail innocent people then spend money on transportation or educating our youth

  • Human nature over REASON? I think NOT.

  • Man is conscious and has free will; therefore, he may choose anything that does not encroach on another's fundamental rights. Similarly, this does not give a government the power to restrict the right to choose. The ultimate choice is, therefore, the choice between life and death; a man with the right to choose, has the right to choose furthering death by drugs, if he so wishes. Just as he may not impinge on another's right to choose, no one else may strip away his own rights.

  • But man also may evolve his mind to a higher and greater consciousness than substance abuse and tainted thought.

  • everyone who favors legalization I take it has smoked weed?

    Pathetic.

  • I have never done any drugs and I never will. I therefore demonstrate that your statement is false.

  • not everyone. I submit to you that I have experimented in such areas and still favor keeping such substances illegal.

  • Time to legalize drugs? No, u FUCKING IDIOTS.

  • the only reason they wont is because they'll hate the loss of money and power

  • Marijuana would fix all of this.;-)

  • call 19734093274 toll free to legalize marijuana! hurry copy and paste have until may 3

  • Think about all of the money that is made by arresting, processing, and imprisioning all of the people that are brought up on drug charges. Thats a huge chunk of money. The people that make that money won't let go of it quitely.

  • us govt is responsible for the flourishing of traffickers worldwide

  • Comment removed

  • Just look at it this way. Do you want the government telling you what you can or cant do in the privacy of your own home? i didnt think so. The federal government ought to enact some sort of law allowing marijuana to be consumed as long as it is done in a responsible manner and not in public.

  • The United States has the most people in prison out of any country in the world... I mean why send these taxpaying citizens to jail for possession of drugs, where our own tax money goes to support these prisoners who are no longer contributing to society. I think we should rethink that, and maybe give people the chance to fix their drug problems with professional help, rather than sending desperate people to jail..

  • "How would legalization solve the problem?"

    --- EeeeeZyyyyy!!

  • There are alot of reasons to legalize not only marijuana but all drugs. One is that the availubility of drugs to underaged teens would decrease. I know at least in my area it is easier for kids to obtain marijuana then alcohol or tabacco (you don't get carded for something you buy illegally). If we ever legalize marijuana, it would probably be treated like hard liquor.

  • LEGALIZE PSYCHEDELICS.

  • keep drugs illegal.

  • budz. no point in it being so

  • The principle thing that prohibition does is Create a black market and make criminals and corrupt officials rich. I guarantee that the drug problem will get a Lot worse until they legalize all drugs. Drug use is a Matter of Freedom as an American.

I actually think theres a lot of small town police departments that are addicted to federal funding, asset seizures, and power.

  • wow wtf why would you legalize all drugs crack , meth , and herion........my country is mother fuckin crazy.....just simply legalize marijuana

  • agreed (:

  • Because it would reduce crime, and we can devote more resources to addiction prevention and treatment for harder drugs. If you haven't noticed, making it illegal did nothing to make drug abuse go away, and now we have thousands of people in jail when they should be in rehab.

  • It is not them, who decides what is legal, it is us. A government can not go against its nation, that is civil treason.

Once we have enough states to agree, and a policy in place, it will no longer be illegal. Again.

Poverty is the problem. Not drugs. Poverty causes the poor to use what they can afford for entertainment. Poverty makes those who are poor, try to become better off. That is what leads to crime.

Most users are not poor. Most are under control, because of marijuana.

  • Take away drugs, and they will steal TV's, take away TV's, and they will steal computers, take away computers, and they will steal books, take away books, and they will steal your words, take away your words, and... Ahhh, finally... silence...

I like this game, make coffee illegal next, and then sugar, and then cars, and then alcohol again, and then cigarettes, and then solar radiation, and then asbestos break-pads, and then Twinkies, and then anything that is not NERF, and then...

  • twinkies are the real gateway drug

  • who the fuck is that douche talking out of his ass at the end. what the fuck does he know about anything?

  • legalize cannabis.....BOYCOTT KELLOGG'S!!!!!!!! (an exclamation point for every medal)

  • legalize cannabis!

  • Most pro-drug legalization supporters get discredited and ignored because they start to bring up the possibility of legalizing every controlled substance. Honestly, substances like methamphetamine, heroin, and crack cocaine should never be legalized because of the substantial physical and emotional damage they inflict on people. However, if marijuana was properly taxed and regulated like alcohol, it would free up our law enforcement and the 800,000 people put in prison for possession every year

  • Well let's get the facts straight. The War on Drugs is Capitalist Drug company policy that assures people get their "fix" from prescription drugs, many of which are more potent, addictive, and harmful than marijuna and alcohol (which is a drug). Marijuana CANNOT be confused with other more harmful drugs such as Heroin, Cocaine, Methamphetamines and others, since it is not chemically addictive and does not create chemical dependence.

  • We need to kick it up a notch. It's not just about pot. Infact it's not about pot. What about prescription drugs? Why do I need a doctor, pharmeceutical rep, and the government to get between me and my medicine. It keeps prices up and quality down. Let's get rid of all drug control and really bring down the cost of HealthCare. If you want the FDA fine, but make it a choice!! Talk to me!!!

  • Legalized weed would free up a huge chunk of resources to interdict stuff that actually hurts people, like meth. Marijuana prohibition is pointless because marijuana is harmless.

  • I am suffering !!!!

  • Legalize it all, as long as I can smoke my Marijuana, I'll be happy, and what everyone else does, aint my buisness

  • legalize marijuana!

  • thats actually why they SHOULD legalize drugs...b/c the govn't is fuckin corrupt and they choose money of human life-fuck them pencil pushin faggots

  • They will never legalize. The police make way too much money from it. The Banks make way too much money from it. Read "Crossing The Rubicon", by Mike Ruppert. Chapter 3 lays it all out.

  • don't be so hopeless, we're starting to gain ground again finally.

  • I am not hopeless about it, just realistic. It really is a huge windfall for police departments. Not so much for the Tax payers. Hundreds of vehicles are seized and auctioned. That money does not get put back into the local communities....

  • yeah, but police don't make laws, they can't stop the ball we've started rolling. Have you seen the gains we've been making in the news?

sorry to be all preachy but me, being someone very involved with drug policy, is kinda peeved by seeing someone who supports the cause but doesn't endorse it, especially since the movement has started rolling strong in the last few years.

  • legalize!!

    (marijuana)

  • the government is making money off the drugs so they will never legalize it.

    PEOPLE WAKE UP !!!

All the money spent on watching drug dealers for years when all they need is a few days.

    Come on ....

You think AMERICA is STOOPID !

stoopid is waaaay stoopider than stupid.

  • Yeah the government is making money. That's why we're trillions of dollars in debt...

  • You trust the government ?

You actually believe the government would share the truth with AMERICA ?

    government = cops = politicians

    everything is hush hush

until they release what they want you to believe.

  • America is going to turn itself inside out if it doesn't get its head screwed on straight about drugs. People try to ignore drugs or demonize them and the goverment just loves getting rich off it. Marijuana is just the tip of the iceberg. Let's stop throwing logic out the window, putting so much hate on non violent drug users.

  • yea i'm from uk people talk about it here, you know it would terminate the black market and resolve alot of crime, killings, gang wars, prostitution, but the thing is what our goverments proberly think is like how you suppose to sell heroin and crack and hardcore drugs like thatu know it reks peoples lives and its not really recreational

  • How do tobacco and alcohol companies continue selling thier products when they know, statistically, that the product causes not only bodily harm (cancer, liver damage etc) but also contributes to crime rates, car crashes, and violence?

Maybe it's the big wad of money that keeps them quiet, and OK with selling it. ...

  • i dis this a lil while ago what happened to them?

  • (dot)mpp(dot)org/legislation

In the first paragraph click on ( MPP's Marijuana Reforms in Congress Web page.)

Other informative videos are ( MoneyTV Discusses Medical Marijuana, part one and two ).

  • good statement not spam!!

  • Prohibition only creates a black market. The only people making money off of the demand for drugs are people who are willing to break the laws (in more ways than selling drugs. Violence, anyone?) Make drugs legal and people who profit will be pharmacists who KNOW something about drugs. Ever met a guy selling cocaine who knows what the LD-50 index is? Didn't think so.

  • "ok fair enough, certain drugs can ruin peoples lives

then, how is it logical that imprisoning a drug user is gonna make their lives any better?

people who want to do drugs are gonna do drugs, no matter if its illegal or not."

Well said, if the government cares so much about the people, then why imprison them, and not offer rehabilitation counciling?

    Weed should be legal.

  • You're so on the money. By the way, drug use is rampant in prison as well. Despite all the things they do to try to keep drugs out of prison, people still find ways to smuggle them in. Face it-this war can NEVER be won. Legalize all drugs.

  • Just like the war on terror can never be won...Its just a way for the govt to employ loads of people. The drug war employs hundreds of thousands of people. On the flip side if drugs were legal and sold at "dispensaries" like medical cannabis, the govt would have complete control over it. People want drugs, and thats not gonna change, so why not use that money to help America get out of the hole that just keeps getting deeper?

  • ... When *did* the Gov't care about the people?

  • legalise and stop leting the drug deaalers kill and get rich,it makes no sence.

  • Don't forget about the oinkers that will lose funding if crime goes down.

  • CONT.

-should rethink their opinions and find some truth for themselves.

  • Realize that this is all a cycle designed to make money.

Drugs get seized, possibly resold(?) People get thrown in jail, giving jailers their work cut out for them. If we are jailing more people than Western Europe for all their charges combined; for drug charges.. don't we need to reform and refine how we look at this?

Special interests keep this cycle going. It's all about money. Even the naive lemmings that have 100% faith in the drug war.

  • the only difference between drugs being legal and not,is the cost of the war on them, people that use will use regardless of current laws,I dont plan on changing my use if its ever legalized

  • ok fair enough, certain drugs can ruin peoples lives

then, how is it logical that imprisoning a drug user is gonna make their lives any better?

people who want to do drugs are gonna do drugs, no matter if its illegal or not.

  • drugs shouldnt be treated as a crime.. they should be treated as a sickness.. or something more towards that, and away from ruining someones life by putting them in prision for posessing a substance that they're putting on themselves..

short: Mr. Man, Please dont save me from myself. I think im grown up enough to decide for myself.

  • Only weed should be legalized.

Coke is addictive, very addictive.(Anyone that has done it, or does it currently will tell you that)

Heroin and Meth are just stupid. Never should they be legalized.

Weed is not harmful, not addictive, and very safe. Why Not?

  • i agree but keeping the dangerous ones illegal is still counter productive, there are still many meth and heroin users, making it illegal doesnt do anything,

i mean, why should we put someone in prison so he can stay away from a drug?

what do we care that someone we dont know is doing something that only affects them?

  • Heroin and meth aren't stupid, chemicals by themselves cause no harm. The problem is people is trying them and getting hooked on them. You may not realize that problems with overdose and violence associated with those drugs are there because they are illegal. Overdose happens because the drugs' purities are not regulated, and violence happens because you have to buy them on the streets and people get ripped off and all that. The threat of prison is obviously not deterring anyone

  • Weed is far less likely to give you cancer, weeds benefits outweigh the risks.

Many drugs relive pain, such as Tylenol, ibuprofen, and anesthetics, but you can overdose on those and and die. Weed has the same effect, but you cannot overdose on it.

Also on some pain relieving drugs you can might get a sense of euphoria. Weed also give you that same sense.

Alcohol give you a buzz, so does weed. Only weed gives the user more control than alcohol.

Alcohol make the user violent but weed calms u.

  • Weed should be legalized but cocaine, meth, and all the other drugs should still be illegal. Those other drugs hurt people quite a bit, weed is not that bad. Weed although could give you cancer, cigarettes are far more harmful than weed.

even though some people say you can get addicted to weed it is not true. Most people who cold turkey on weed can stay off it.

If the government did legalize it they could tax and let people grow there own with a license.

    "more on next post."

  • You Americans crack me up, you can legally buy an assualt rifle but a bit of weed will get you thrown into prison.

  • Weed should be legalized. There is no reason why alcohol should be and weed shouldnt.

Alcohol is damaging during pregnancy. Also alcohol takes its toll in traffic. 40% of all incidents involving aggression occur while under the influence of alcohol. The police spend 22% of their time on cases involving alcohol.

You can get addicted, you can overdose, and lets not talk about what it does to your health.

  • Just legalize bud, not all that other trash. There is NO reason for weed not to be legal.

  • Finnaly at least

on of them is getting smart

  • Does Fox News even understand the notion of liberty and individual rights for which our Founding Father's advocated and fought? Some people are truly ignorant, and unfortunately, Most people believe the gospel of main stream media. Forgive us founding father's for our big corporation ran news networks know what they are doing but are looking out for their best interest (which is only viable under corrupt, big government). Sorry Constitution...

  • see the tv says Drugs (meth, heroin, cocaine)

but herb is a plant; the bud of a natural plant

  • TV ppl are stupid they think HERB supporters do NOT want Meth, cocaine, heroin legal!

    only WEED

  • just legalize bud already

  • Marijuana and hemp are the best things we can do for our economy.

  • Ugh why do people post bullshit from corporate news? Especially FOX!? *shudders*

  • it time to legalize marijuana it is safest drug

  • It's not actually. Far from it. See the Lancet's piece. But I agree: legalise marihuana. :)

  • the light at the end of the tunnel

  • i hate how ignorant reporters always group all drugs together as the same thing.

  • Even if it was legalised, it would never work, as the government would obviously tax it, and so the illegal drug market would still flourish. This is happening with cigarettes right now, with some reports indicating that if they are taxed much more, that people will just buy untaxed illegal versions, which is ridiculous, the government saying that its only alright to do this drug (tobacco) if we get a cut. Which is frankly ridiculous.

  • never legalize heroine, marijuana, ok. do it.

ps. britain isnt even considering it =(

  • Legalize it all. I believe marijuana should be legalized as a recreational drug. The rest are far more dangerous but should be legal too, but the only way to get them would be to go to a doctor to get them. We have to get the drugs out of the black market and into doctor offices. The amount of money we spend on the drug war a year is 49 billion. Take that money and use it to educate, rehabilitate, not incarcerate.

  • nobody thinks of the long term consequences. Legalize drugs like cocaine and heroine, we will spend that 49 billion and way more on the sheer amount of the sick and dying 10 years later. It would lead to a social breakdown, as the sheer amount of junkies will be staggering. Its just like cigarettes but much more dangerous and these lead to mental instability which means people would not be able to work or even manage their lives. In the end, like a slow pandemic, we would all suffer

  • Richi1173 I'm not talking about outrightly legalizing cocaine and heroine. What I meant was that people who are addicted to those drugs could get treatment from doctors with regulated doses. This has been implemented over in Amsterdam with success. I just feel that throwing people in jail for possession is not the right answer. Having drugs in the black market is a drain on the economy and the American taxpayer.

  • Regulated doses are just as bad as unregulated ones. The damage is still the same. Even a little in a long way can ruin the body, its a very fragile machine. Sure, the immediate results will be good as you have stated, but what about in 20 years? If you mean helping addicts by regularly decreasing their doses with a certified doctor, then yes, i agree. However, drugs should be kept illegal for anybody else. Its better to spend our tax money to protect Americans against possible death.
