This was the speech of a lifetime from the candidate of a lifetime. Not only did he inspire, unite and GALVANIZE us to action across party lines, but he also set forth with stern conviction a detailed plan and a way forward--and he didn't have to stoop to any lies and thuggish nastiness like we saw in the RNC. That baseness and evil is the GOP's speciality. Obama will win. We've all had enough and he is our best hope. He's brilliant, dedicated, and a capable leader, and his time has come.
I don't want to bicker with you, but can you explain to exactly me why you think you're right when you say, "Lies, lies and more lies."?
If you say Obama is not going to fulfill these promises, (and I'm assuming that you are a Republican) how about you look at what McCain is offering - nearly the same old stuff that Bush has been offering for the last 8 years.
Personally, I think anything that is going in the direction of CHANGE is better than McCain!!
I'm right because he is going to have to deal with Bush's policies for the first 2-3 years of his presidency. One candidates presidency is determined due to the previous one. If he is spending so much time fixing Bushs' fuck ups, how is he going to fulfill all these promises? Put simply, he isn't, he is saying them because they are what people want to hear.
And no, I am not a Republican...I wouldn't know what to call myself...I vote both ways depending on the candidate.
Although it is true that he will have to push through a lot of crap that Bush gave us, I'm confident that he will get to most of his agenda items as both the house and the senate are democratically controlled. Dear moster88888 - it makes me feel a little better knowing that you aren't a republican 'going with the flow' as stupid people do. In any case, are u old enough to vote and if yes who are u considering to vote for?
To put it simple; I think it's horribly embarrassing that Obama and McCain are the best 2 candidates this country can come up with. I support neither, and I will not be voting.
So Obama admits that the terrorism network is in 80 countries and says you're not going to defeat a network like that by staying in Iraq...
Well what the shit is going into Afghanistan or Pakistan going to do? It's the same fucking logic. Besides, 80% of the terrorists came from Saudi Arabia anyway. You know, Americas "Ally". Something smells fishy to me.
Not quite treysparker, not quite. All islamic extremist groups follow a philosophy which is often one a person. Defeat it and at least for a time being you throw the organization. Bin Laden is not in Iraq! That's fact!
A great speech. He was able to cover much that many people needed to hear. I was especially impressed by the examples he gives of age-old party differences in abortion, gun laws, gay rights, etc. He showed that no matter how polarized a position is, those at either end of it can stil find common ground. His apparent ability to bridge gaps of conflict gives me hope. This is an essential leadership quality for progress both within our country and also internationally.
It isn't something everyone can do. I really do think he is a natural born leader. We are in big need of one. Finally to have a president who we feel actually cares about us? How long since people have felt that way? I think it is so low to try to discredit Obama because so many people like him. How backward is that!! Talk about desperate.
man.. too bad Bill Clinton cant run for a 3rd time...

If he wants to cast off the old ideas and politics of the past, why is he associating himself with, and praising the Clintons? Bullshit flag!

"Protect Israel"? Worry about your own country instead of going out of your way to defend a country that has done nothing for America.
