I'm pretty sure I saw Trevor Horn in there somewhere, too. Anymore incredibly brilliant legendary phenomenal stars in there? BTW, the guy with the long face isn't Hammill.
Did anyone notice how Peter came in on the wrong beat, necessitating an adjustment by the rest of the musicians?
Why don't Ron and Russell play their own instuments or sing? They just stand there, looking out of place with maraccas. Inviting Sparks to a band to just let them stand there and look misplaced is like inviting Paul McCartney and asking him to hold your sheet music for you. Or like inviting Ron Mael and giving him wood blocks.
What is particularly amusing about this is Hammill's gesture at being motioned towards the microphone centre stage. Schoener points him towards the mic, and he starts making his way over, slowly, at about the 3:50 mark. Going too slowly for Schoener, he makes the gesture again, with more emphasis, and Hammill's response is hilarious.
Yes, it's quite hilarious. Peter seems to be saying to Schoener in his own unique sign-language; "Stop yelling at me", while making a 'quiet, calm down' motion with his hands!
You can actually see the daggers Peter is shooting at Schoener after he finally walks over to join John Miles, if looks could kill.
Then Peter leaves the stage when HE's done, by simply singing "All we are saying is, Bye-Bye!"
This is proof: no one tells Peter Hammill what to do!
Isn't the long faced guy Peter Hammill? Must be him. My God that drummer is so manic LOL
Russell seems to have a little more fun with his (What's it called)instrument, but then of course his stage persona has always been very active, often over the top LOL
Yes the same hat and shirt but the shorts I haven't seen before and those red socks LOLLOL. For some reason hair on men legs seems softer than on women legs (I know some women who don't care about shaving)
at first i thought i said 'spybot' lol, then 'there's my bus' cuz he like leaves the stage, then maybe 'its my butt' like they were running overtime...but I think VladDImpala is right that he just says 'Bye Bye'
Cool. Where on earth did you find this? The amishlooking drummer is that the same guy Paul McCartney portrays in his "Coming Up" video? Who is that guy? And what kind of a dandelion-head has given Ron Mael the wrong instrument?! LOL he looks so dissapointed.
I can't believe I'm watching this! Peter Hammill AND Sparks on the same stage. Get your head around that! Is this a fake?? CGI tricks?

The song is called, for those who don't know, "give peace a chance"
Hammill 10 months ago
That was surreal!
Interestingly enough .. the only thing that truly stands out as distinctive in that glorious mess, is Hammill's voice.
Thanks for posting!

Very nice, very nice ... though it doesn't seem right; the whole thing is begging for Russell to break free and do his thing. :D

Yep... it's pretty noticeable

seems to me Mister Hammill was verry exhausted, after he has given in the beginning all of his marvellous voice.
Therefore he wanted to go earlier, for he had overworked his voice. Mister Schoener don't understand/aceept this first, I think

Standing there looking bored is Ron's schtick.

This must have been weird for PH. Now wonder he ended it early. Though he was in strong (authentic English) voice at the start.
Can we get weirder still? Any one got the Tintagel clip from PlayAway in the 70's?

Correct, "the obscure man who is issuing directions" is Eberhard Schoener, he's more known for classical and jazz fusion, than rock.
Eberhard is probably known to Police fans for having The Police work on two of his albums way before they were famous.
btw, Hammill is pretty handsome, cut out the "long ugly face" comments.
"I can't understand what he says at the end before leaving.." Peter simply says, "Bye-Bye".

Yes, he is handsome.

That's John Miles on guitar, not Greg Lake!
The "Amish-looking" percussionist is Morris Pert.
Mel Collins is playing tenor sax.
And "the obscure man who is issuing directions" is Eberhard Schoener.

The hair of his leg is cute, isn't it? LOL
