Online inductions such as this one are actually EXTREMELY difficult and borderline reckless. For 2 reasons.

1. When conducting an induction such as this, there is a slight time delay between the time that you speak and the subject hears you. The hypnotist must compinsate for this difference in his speach.

2. This is borderline reckless because if something were to happen to the subject, medicly speaking, there isnt much that you can do.

That really isnt something that i do. I would estimate that this type of induction would only work on about 40% of viewers. My current success rate is in the 90 percentile and i would not want to damage that by creating a stigma.

If you are attempting a hypnotic induction i suggest that you find someone that you do not know extremely well. Since rapport has a lot to do with hypnosis. This may help you.

I can't believe this worked....

I was wondering, you know those videos that have something pop up randomly? Wouldn't that be a good way to do "online" shock induction? When that thing pops up, it would send the person into the same state that they'd be when you pull their arm for shock arm pull induction.... I wonder if putting a "sleep" suggestion right after something like that would work for online hypnosis (video)?

Well i honestly dont think that this would work although i have thought of it many times. I believe that a shock induction such as tugging on the arm or hand works so well because the body feels a sense of downward motion, or even pulling motion which may be tricking the mind into thinking that it is actualy falling asleep.

a plane old shock to the system could work since people were often frightened into hypnosis in the mid ages.. however, a lot of thought is nessecary

Well I guess the physical aspect of the shock induction helps a LOT, but it's true that something popping up would cause the mind to go into the same kind of confusion and 'searching for what to do next' state. An example could be Derren Brown's dog races thing where he slams the counter and suggests to the lady that 'this is the winning ticket'.

We won't know until we try though, right? It probably won't work...

To answer your question, in any induction that you are dealing with a somnambulist the induction will be slighly easier then normal. I have found that once you have a person fairly comfortable true deep trance can be attained. Infact i believe that this induction went so well also because he was sitting in the comfort of his own home!:)
