Out of the two consoles in terms of quality and gaming overall, both are outdated in just 18 months and ps3 is "better" than xbox while xbox has the majority of the popular games. PC is overall expensive, but lasts infinitely longer than any console because its hardware and software is constantly updated and it's the basis on which all consoles were created. FYI PS4 will already be outdated when it comes out.

Ps3 has always had a diverse gaming section, while xbox had more of a fps genre, but because of microsoft policies, it would not allow CCP to use the gaming developement ideas and format. Still, I think Ps3 and Sony can pull it off. Also i have been hearing somethings from Sony about how they will try to put Dust 514 on the Ps Vita when it comes out. I honestly don't think Dust 514 will work on Ps Vita, but Sony has pulled it off this far...

If you read the most recent articles on Dust514, it tells you why Xbox isn't included which puts the ball in Microsoft's court. They're the ones who failed in this deal, not CCP or Sony! Microsoft and xbox live is incredibly strict with cross-platform communication, and not to mention dealing with xbox live -> eve would of been a huge headache.

@Clonetrooper1139 The fuss is that on a console game your able to communicate with pc gamers up in outer space. They will give you the orders in online multiplayer, you fight the ground battles. Their decisions dictate how the battles will go and will probably lead to endless possibilities. The good thing also is that on the ps3 this is going to get patched a lot since its doing a massive undertaking.

I think there will be different sides with their different regiments and platoons that go against each other in online battle, while the ships will be sending orders on what they should do.
