This is a cute little skit that plays with words. The title reads "I want to be there". Of course the irony of wanting to be there is that when you arrive "there" it become "here" so you can truly never get "there". Po v' sham (Here and there). I I can tell you how to get there but the people there l tell you that you are here not there ! A bit Abbott & Castello in a way. Misaheck em mileem.
wow, this scene is soo great - gotta love the old shows for children that actually had some depth compared to the contemporary corporate turds..
Anyways, as I do not understand hebrew (as of yet:) I was wondering if this scene is a translation and thus attainable in an english version or if it solely exists like this? If so, is anyone up for making a dubbed version?

I believe you though what you said is not entrirely true - Ugifletzet is Cookimonster, Bigbird is Tziporet, Grover is Kroovi and the beat goes on...Lots of names were translated into Hebrew!!!
Though is you say Ezra is Israeli, than it means there is no Enligh version for this scene? I've always thought it's copied...
[[Again, the charactes: - Ugi (the one with the big eyes) * the kid + Ezra ]] -Hey, Ezra! +how are you? -how are you Ezra? +good to see you! -i'm glad to see you! tell me Ezra, do you remember that once, a long time ago, we had a picnic and we ate a cookie? +a cookie? -yeh a cookie!
+it was a chocolate cookie right? -no it was a coconut cookie! +coconut? -a coconut cookie! +a coconut cookie we ate at Pesach (*a jewish holiday, passover) -yeh at pesach! +pesach! -coconut cookies! +at pesach we eat coconut cookies! -yeh! you know, yesterday i ate a nut cookie +a nut cookie -a nut cookie. yeh it was great! +really? -and one thing more +what? -a waffle covered with chocolate, ohh a wafle covered with chocolate, a waffle covered..
+i like a lot a waffle covered with chocolate too! *aaa aaaa.. -Ezra, who is this? what happened kid? *i want to know what's the difference between "here" and "there" +what's the difference between "here" and "there"? -between "here" and "there"! *yes! yes! cuz i don't know what is "here", and actually, i don't even know what is "there"! -ha! +should i tell him? -why not? we should help the kid. *yes yes!
I'm not sure if you know this or not, but here are the monsters' American names: Cookie Monster (but you probably knew that) is Ugi, Beautiful Day Monster is Ezra, and "the kid" is Baby Monster.

מי יודע איך בגרסה בנאגלית קראו לעזרא? מעניין...
What's Ezra's name in English? He's the other one, not cookie monster...
Naamahwhatever 2 years ago
There is no translation because thsi is originally made in Israel. Ezra is just Ezra. You don't translate names.

I don't know about Ezra :P but cookie monster is ugi because in hebrew a cookie=ugia :P
actually, the full name is ugi-fletzet (mifletzet=monster)
lol it looks complicated XD
and you're welcome =)
