I guess obliterated implies terrible losses on the battlefield, which is not what I meant. I'm no historian, but I know Germany got obliterated by the T. of Versailles... went on to suffer hyperinflation and overall poverty. Jews were basically scapegoats, already seen as rich communists. Personally, I find it hard to like Part 10, I thought the rest of the movie was meaningful though. Other than this glorified part 10 shit, the rest of the movie was trying to explain the sufferings of war.

In the end German soldiers were just like soldiers of any other army, some of them good, some bad, some nazis, some not.
They all fought for Germany, not all of them fought for Hitler's ideology, you have to see the difference between the two.

the battle for stalingrad was probably one of the worst battles in WWII. hitler and stalin wanted control of it sooo badly, that over 90% of the city was destroyed with millions of dead soldiers from both sides

Fine die Musik gut und passend (Ist das Amelie?). Schade daß die Szene fehlt wo der böse offizier erschossen wird, das fand ich sehr gut am Ende. oder wo die Russin von den eigenen Leuten erschossen wird. Auch das langsame erfrieren kam bei deinem Ende nicht so wirklich rüber, trotzdem gut gemacht.

I guess obliterated implies terrible losses on the battlefield, which is not what I meant. I'm no historian, but I know Germany got obliterated by the T. of Versailles... went on to suffer hyperinflation and overall poverty. Jews were basically scapegoats, already seen as rich communists. Few jews were leaders at the time afaik. Hitler was a conspiracy theorist and a mad man, though a political genius at the same time unfortunately.

of course not. ive read a book that wrote a german who was there, in stalingrad. he says, that sometimes there were just 125 meters to the wolga, but they couldnt break through. he writes that if three ss-divisions who were in normandy, waiting for the allied attack, if they would have been in stalingrad, stalins men would have been lost. think about it. stalin sent 10000 men from his personal elite: they were dead 48 hours later cuz of the luftwaffe. thats just crazy!

kuroiyua88, this was a great scene but your facts are wrong the germans werent obliterated in ww1 they were actually on the offensive in some places when they surrendred the jew germans who owned germany at the time surrendered while germans fought on the front diening for them and thats why hitler hate jews even more and people followed him and thats why he got elected and he promised peace and everything but in 1938 he broke that promise and set up concentration camps

Personally, I find it hard to like Part 10, I thought the rest of the movie was meaningful though. Other than this glorified part 10 shit, the rest of the movie was trying to explain the sufferings of war.

What sad about it ? Those murderers got a deserved end. After all they chose Hitler and his policy with the greatest enthusiasm. As for those soldiers, they have been massacring entire Russian villages, burning families, women, olders and children alive inside of their houses, and played "sittings ducks" with any one trying to escape the inferno - I have direct witnesses of such atrocities, and this brave soldiers gathered jews from villages and let them dig out their own mass graves.

The 101st and 82nd were good soldiers and brave men. But no one in the 101st lost his home and his family to an invading army like thousands of Russian soldiers, and no one in the 82nd had to fight for weeks without rest while his country was bombed around him, like the pilots of the RAF. That's why I didn't include any American units in my list.

Good, naturally brave soldiers. No doubt, the Germans were the best soldiers in Europe at the time. No the soviets got there arse handed to them in Afghanistan. of the 1 million Afghani deaths during that war, the majority of them were non-combatants. Of the 1 million Afghani's disabled during the war, the majority were non-combatants. And of the 3 million Afghani's wounded during the war, the majority were non-combatants. Where as the Soviets lost 15,000 soldiers. The reason why is the same reason as today in Afghanistan. The Afghani's fight in a guerilla way, striking fast then retreating.

Guerrilla warfare can bleed an enemy, but if an enemy is ruthless, like the German Wehrmacht, then any guerilla movement must lose. They lack organization. And after they lose their masters, rebels lose. cuz then they're just rabble

The Germans grossly miscalculated their abilities in attacking the USSR. And an interesting point is that Stalin had given up and was about to escape from Moscow in 1941, but it was the people of Russia and the Red Army soldier that stopped the Germans in front of Moscow. One chatter said if it hadn't been for the snow Hitler would have won. Not plan on fighting in snow in Russia? That is like not planning to fight in sand in the Sahara. Gross incompetence of the German General Staff.
