  • Best way to smoke a cigar is to not smoke it at all.

  • @Quartrez

theres no measurable damage if you smoke 1 or 2 cigars a week

  • @rarintoclown Of course not.

  • Is there any reason that you should not cut off the hot tip with a cigar cutter ? maybe a couple of millimetres below the ash ? I thought that if you removed it somewhere that wasn't dangerous in any way, then the cigar might be good to go again later ? Especially if you are ot at home at the time, then you could put it back in the metal tube to take home ?

  • @Brettledotcom the reason most don't just cut off the tip to bring later is in the flavor. the more times you light the cigar, the worse the flavor (at least to most people.) when it's relit many times, you can get a very ashy, hot taste from it, and it generally loses some of the flavor from the tobacco and is too smokey. as he has said in multiple videos, however, it returns to the smokers taste. if you don't mind the taste of the relit cigar, or if you even like it, go ahead :)

  • "Do you love to enjoy a cigarre and enjoy the brazlilian feeling at the same time?!

Listen to ""Canta Bahia"" by Paloma Gomes then. Hope you enjoy!"

  • only morons crush their cigars out , its disrespecting the hand made cigar and its stinks the room up, some legit cigar places throw you out if you do crush it out in the ashtray or throw it on the floor and proceed to stomp it out inside the shop. thow their ass out mmmmhmmmm as harry always says at the local cigar shop.

  • this fat ass is nuts!

Just bang the god damn cigar against the ashtray and kill it!

  • fuck that shit

i was stupid for looking up this vid

    Smoking period is BAD Etiquette

    Dumbasses

thats as pointless as having different forks for salads

  • who gives a fuck about ettiquet. thats for fucking mindless fat tools like this douche bag

  • @ltdex400guitarist

Exactly, Smoking period is bad etiquette...

  • @panzarw thats why trays were invented

  • captain obvious...

  • they go out in about three minuts, that is why you use a big ashtray so it wont fall off, if you smash the cigar out in the ashtray it will smell within a short time and if you are going to sit there it will stink the place up and make you want to hurl, dont know what I am talking about put a cigar in a beercan and wait a week and then take a nice big wiff, that will show you what it smells like.

  • thanx

  • YOU DONT HAVE GRAY HAIR

  • R.I.P

  • aha... nice, i used to smash out my cigz like a dumbass... thnx for posting usefull vids m8, appreciated... :)

  • Ya asshole, ts great ediquete having 3 cigars lite at one time doing these fuckin videos

  • and tummy over there now goes 2 smoke a fat blunt Marijuana! Marijuana! Marijuana! Mar-ijua--na lmfao !

  • can u gut one of those handmade cigars and make a fat blunt with it?

would it be a higher quality blunt?

  • i don´t think that works, because it´s rolled with many strata.and if you smoke a cigare you do not inhale the smoke,if you smoke a "cigare blunt" you´ll probably have trouble in your guts =D

  • dethklok111, how about you just stop being a moron and stop smoking weed?

  • If I'm halfway through a Cigar and I have to go inside, I usually put it in the tube, still lit, and close it. Suffocating the embers, and putting it out. Ready for Later!

  • Won't that make the tube really hot for awhile (assuming it's a metal and not a glass one)?

  • hey thanks for the tip

  • doesnt it taste terrible when you re-light? That nasty, fumey, cold tobacco taste

  • I just take my cutter and remove a good inch from the end, and it usually gets all that charcoal and nasty stuff. It definately doesn't taste fresh, and I prefer just to go with a new cigar. Sometimes I'll do that trick though.

  • good idea

  • i always thought of that but do you think it would be bad if you used a plastic tube?

  • it will put it out, but it will make the cigar taste funny that tube will trap all the nasty smoke and lock it into the cigar faster, better to just set it down and let it go out, for me usualy in three minuts its out if I dont puff it, chopping the cigar again could ruin the integrity of the wrapper they do expand when you smoke the cigar and get it hot after all.

  • Sory Mr. Driggers, some people such as this asshole are just rude sons of bitches, you helped me out alot, this guy just doesn't understand

  • just cut the burnt tip off ffs so you can enjoy it another time rather than waisting the hard work from the creators

  • it is good if you do it within a few hours otherwise it can get a foul taste in it from the cold smoke, I have been told.

  • When you are through smoking it, does it really matter where you put it. I didn't know I had to respect a piece of tobacco. This is a little over the top for me and really lame.

  • I agree about over the top-ness, but understand that the "respect" is for a practical cause (i.e. not breaking your cigar and not making the shit smell it makes)

  • its tradition.

  • Comment removed

  • You're respecting the cigar because it is a hand-rolled product that takes time and great quality control to make and deliver to you. It's more about the makers than the "piece of tobacco." Obviously, if there is no ash tray around and you are outdoors, etiquette goes out the window. It's like holding a wine glass by the stem: it's proper etiquette and tradition.

  • I agree totally. All i'm saying is this guy is way to serious. I never use an ashtray when I smoke and on second thought it's a major fire hazard :)

  • I am that guy. :-)

  • I agree with you badchad. But if you handle your cigar like rubbish in public, someone else who likes that brand of cigar would find it distasteful.

  • does beating/scraping a cigar out give an after taste when you re smoke it? for some reason i always do,or will it taste like that unless you cut the burnt tip off?

  • be nice, he is trying to teach the right way to smoke a cigar and what is not a good way to smoke it.

  • Dont be rude hes teaching you manners.

  • he hella looks nervous to be even seen imitating beating the cigar out

  • i just douse it in water and throw it straight to the dumpster

  • that is even worse, their is a reason to respect the hand rolled cigar. It takes time to make them and it is an art to it so you want to respect the craftsmanship and dont smash it out as it opens the cigar up and lets that stale ashtray smell in just a short time and it is gross that is why you let it sufficate itself out.

  • true...

  • If you let it die by itself, you an cut the burnt tip off, and continue the smoke.

  • i feel like he took for ever just to say "Put the cigar in the ash tray"

  • Matt have you ever had a cuban? What are they like?

and what about machin made cigars, are you still supposed to respect those too even if they are cheap or is it ok to bore the cigar out into the ashtray?

  • This guy needs to take smoking lessons from Scarface. "respect the cigar its "senitief" "his heart wil break if you dont respect it" MY ASS JUST SMOKE THAT DAMM THING!

  • what are your thoughts on people that wreck the cigar by smoking it like the girl in the video 20 puffing a cohaba?

where she puffs the cigar 20 times continuously in a raceing fashion.

and what about if you have to put a cigar out in a hurry and dont have time to let it die?

  • To answer your first question: One puff a minute is a good pace at which to smoke.

IF you have to put it out in a hurry, I suppose you gotta do what you gotta do, but the point of the cigar is to take your time.

  • Well I tried one yesterday jan 7 2008. I can honestly say the wrapper was not bad had a nutty taste to it. I smoked a Romeo y Jullietta Robusto. I can honestly say I did not like the taste. I did know not to inhale but I also did not puff hard enough, it took me three hours to smoke it down and 14 relights latter I got it down to the band. I Jokeingly said so now I am done with this you want me to just throw it on the floor and stomp er out? The guy at regals said some people do.

  • Wow...just wow...maybe if you plan on insulting someone in English, you should learn the language first.

  • hi matt .. does the USA have a smoking ban put in place now? over here in the UK you arnt allowed to smoke in bars or if someone's coming over to your house you cant smoke 15 minute's before they have arrived.

the club industry is dying because of it :(

  • In the USA it is state by state. Florida has a ban on smoking in places where food is more than 30% of your sales. In some states it's more strict. In most states, though, there is no ban whatsoever.

  • You talk about respect? Stop smoking will be respect for everyone.

  • that is why one should do it in a cigar bar or lounge so it is away from the non smokers. Yea its cancerous all forms of smokeing are, even the hookah and chewing tabbacco anyway dont flame horlo

  • I said "respect the smoker," not "respect the pleasure policing fascist pigs."

  • oops, sorry about the duplicate comments, for some reason it wasn't posting the response underneath your comment, so I didn't see it.

  • Dont be so arrogent mean in your reply. I guess that it was a little mean of me to say one should dis the cigar.

As I said I puff the hookah every so often. I dont like the smell of cigars, never touched one I know i have two cousins that do though. One is a lawer in the burbs of chicago and one is a high level manager of HR Block. they both smoke cigars. but never really smoked.

I like fine tea though and I like the real stuff thats fair trade organic. Not that crappy lipton either.

  • I thought your respose sounded a little rude: "treating it like it's gold or some rare spice." I didn't notice your other post. I apologize.

  • its ok I should not have disrespected the expencive cigars. And I did read that a cigar will die on its own if not smoked after a certain time though I knoticed that after a certian amount of time it will get cold smoke smell and wont be any good to smoke again though as I read, I was under the impression that cigars were like cigeretts that just keep going letting off a ton of smoke.

  • Would it be bad if you cut the burning end of it off if you got to put it out in a hurry, so that you can reuse it latter?

  • I would say yes. In the first place, this is bad for the construction itself, because cigars are not monolithic (i.e. they aren't the same all the way through). Secondly, because a cigar is never going to be as good on a relight later on, even if you cut the ash off. This is because smoke has been absorbed into the tobacco already and if you let it sit for a while, it's not going to taste as good.

  • What does a cigar taste like I hope its better then chewing tabbcco, as I ate it once years ago and it was bad news and burned my throut. and are you really just 23 as your youtube page says, cuz you look older in the videos?

  • Well, as long as you don't eat the cigar, you should be ok (lol). But in all seriousness though, different cigars will have a variety of aromas and flavors. It may have a sweet taste on the lips as with a cameroon wrapper and some maduro wrappers. When you smoke it, you may taste coffee and/or spicyness, etc. It all depends on the cigar and how advanced your palette is. And, yes, I am 23.

  • you know something Matt? I went into a local cigar and pipe shop and they did not know what they were doing as far as ediquet. I asked them about proper way to put it out and the guy said i usually just drive it into the ashtray, they did not know what they were talking about they were mainly pipe smokers though. the shop has been around for over 100 years though.

  • Typical...The guy's probably a pipe smoker that doesn't know anything about cigars. Not that there's anything wrongs with pipe smokers, though. They should just stick to what they know.

  • so what made you take up smokeing cigars? was it a family thing where all the guys in your family smoked them or just from curiousity? I myself wanted to find out what smokeing a hookah was like two monthes ago and do it occasionaly I like trying differant blends and it smells like incense thats why I like what I like.

  • It was mostly out of curiousity. I was fascinated with the culture behind it and the first time I tried a cigar, I loved it. I still remember the first cigar I smoked and where I smoked it. It was a Diamond Crown and I smoked it at King Corona Cigars in Ybor City.

  • did you really love the first cigar you smoked?

i didn't to be honest, it didn't taste that nice, probably a too strong cigar for my first, i had a cohiba robusto for my first.

what cigar did you have for your first?

  • I did, actually. You should always start of with something lighter. I started with a Diamond Crown. It's a good light to medium blend. Loved it!

  • great vids matt..i just recently started smoking cigars and love them..i enjoy your tips..the first cigar i smoked was a macanudo and it was great and still smoke them today..question matt..after you put a cigar out,say..half way through it is it okay to re-light it later or should you just light up a new one? and..how far down should you smoke a cigar? thanks man.

  • after that point I started laughing and said really! YOU have to be kidding, That is not only rude to do and messy to sweep up on carpet, but That is bad cigar ettiquet. They said yea there are people that do that right in the shop. I was appalled. Do you get customers that do that?

  • Matt please note though I am not middle eastern nor islamic, I was just facinated by the stories in religious studys where we talked about the Qur'an and the culture behind it. The Quran is in verse like arabic poetry but it also is not. It is higher to them as the words of God, the hookah made its way from the indian subcontanent from their conquests and the islamic cultures made fancy hookahs and it became a part of their long culture over the centuries

  • on the note of smokeing hookah I like the long wand that you smoke off of so you dont get the tobbacco smell on your hands and it puts off very little smoke as you use a coal to roast the tabbaco and suck the fumes though water. I liked the middle eastern culture of centries past where they would sit around and share philosopy and have a communal smoke in a cafe, also they have poetry they share in islam that came from arabia, it predates Islam by centurys, it was how the tribes told storys

  • i see, I dont like cigars much though. They smell bad. Though tonight april 7 2008 out of curiousity I did puff off a hookah, it is the only time i have ever smoked tobbaco, I I dont plan on makeing a habit out of it, but it was next to a new coffie house I learned of last week, that is its in the same building seperated by a door, smokeing the steam from shisha tabbco is about like getting fumes off a candle or the taste fruit from a weak tea It was not too bad for a first smoke.

  • but its not like a pipe that will kill itself if not smoked, it continues to burn doesn't and why should you respect a cigar its not as if it were gold or some rare spice is it?

  • it's more of respect really to the workmanship put into making the cigar. but hey if you're gonna smoke alone, it doesn't really matter haha.

  • Wow...have you ever even smoked a premium cigar, or is it Swisher Sweets for you? Or do you even smoke at all? I love when people comment on stuff they know nothing about.

  • The brands that I like are ones like rishie, harrny and sons, clipper, and Republic of tea. with republic of tea being on the lower end of the scale of preferance.

I guess that it would insult me too if someone said tea is tea or said yea is that like green? I spend a little more and get the green myself hu huh. NO I want to tell them its the differant types and how its processed that can determan its characteristics and even location. for example dragan well vs a tea from japan.
