I train Krav Maga but I have always been much more interested in FMA. The coordination, reaction time, and effectiveness has captured me. In Krav it's mostly about taking the fight to the attacker and short circuiting them regardless of what they do. I've always thought a style that has more variation and is more dependent on what the attacker does would be much more my style. I wish you were in the Houston area. I have not been able to find any FMA in this city!

Us Kali practitioners do a lot of barrage drills, wherein we are given a flurry of punches, then we try to jam and smother the opponent's attacks, then we get in. It's a significant part of FMA training. Kali unarmed combat is, after all, defined by its effectiveness at close range. Thank you for taking the time to watch the video.
