How to control your Dogs Leash Aggression (Who's N Charge)

Iv done the distance thing and it has worked for the most part with my dog. Iv got him down from about 20 car lengths to 1. With some breeds (small) his calm but the larger ones he reacts, so I suspect as a small dog his frightened. I'll try the food - I'll use the one I do his training with ( they need to be really good treats they will do anything for).

my dog doesn't react to food she gets to excited and now she does this thing where she barks at random people for absolutely no reason. I want her to be focused on me but she is focused on everything but me.

all she showed us was that the dog likes food. we didn't even see an example of the dog's behavior as another dog walked by...pointless

If your dog is not food or toy motivated, you're probably too close to the stimuli (ie another dog). Be patient and work at a distance where your dog will still accept food. You may think this isn't doing anything, but trust me, it takes a long time to work on this. I have a leash reactive pit bull and we've made huge progress using this techniqe and by following davidthedogtrainer's videos. BIG TIP...make training a game, be happy while you train.

My dog is not food motivated or toy motivated. When he sees another dog he will pull and bark and there is nothing that is going to stop him. He doesn't care about food anymore.

I disagree with both commenters. I thought this was very helpful. For me, it's better that the dog in the video wasn't perfect. Real dogs aren't perfect, and I don't need my dog to be perfect, just better. Is a 2 minute video going to provide EVERYTHING I need? No, but it WAS a helpful little nugget. Thanks.

for a start get that bluddy harness off and oh yeah the dog jumps to get food so you give him it thats brilliant traning that is
