dude in the late 90s i was just happy even to get to this fucking sound, i can't believe how much time i spent just waiting for the modem to cycle through the different numbers because you'd get nothing but busy signal. getting to that actual modem connection sound was like music to my fucking ears, lol

Being his bratty younger sister and wanting to gossip about boys to my classmates I would pick up the phone while he was on dial up and bounce him offline. Oooh, he would get pissed! He would be on hour 2 of loading a game and then poof disconnected. BWAAHAHAHA!
