  • Really loved this band... Not sure why this particular cut really caught my attention, but a really good band deserves to be heard all the way through.. Great band from the great white north..

  • From Saskatoon, SK here lmao

  • @vodmire1 Greetings.

  • People should be smart and make more videos with two songs instead of just one :p

  • @Nosferatu19971922 I concur. :)

  • Is polishprick78 Canadian?? On behalf of Canada, I apologize for his redneck commentary.

  • 4:20 - I love that album cover...illustrated by one of MAD Magazine's artists (Mort Drucker, I think), and picturing the band as hockey players celebrating a big win...that's quintessentially Canadian right there.

And the music's fantastic, too. Truly "prairie soul" music.

  • All Americans can keep their fucking shitty climate. Your tornadoes and hurricanes and terrible earthqaukes and drought stricken Oklahoma, Kansas and Texas you dumb bastards. Your crocodiles , Rats and Cockroaches can eat you balls and the Mexican men that EASILY escape through your sloppy assed border patrol system can rape your women. Or at least I hope so. You NO TALENT ASS CLOWNS!........

  • @polishprick78 and you shit-mouthed canadian can kiss fifty great stars on the ass

  • @polishprick78 Another jealous American....need I say more????

  • @polishprick78 Yet the person who made this video is an American. By the way you can keep your winter.

  • @tommusicfan19 We learn in kindergarten to share, and we are willing to share winter. Really, we don't mind sending you some of our snow and cold! :)

BTW: As we drove to Medicine Hat a few days ago, we listened to a live CD from the Guess Who, which started with Runnin' Back to Saskatoon. We'd have screamed along with the lyrics, but there were kids sleeping or listening to an iPhone in the back seat.

  • @N1inSK haha well so far here hasn't been too bad of a winter, very little snow where i'm at so I guess I can't blame Canada for its winters. :)

  • @tommusicfan19 It snowed a couple of weeks ago, the snow mostly melted, and now people's sidewalks are slippery with ice. And I fell on someone's icy sidewalk on the way to the grocery store just now. You sure you don't want some of our winter? I can arrange for there to be no export duty on the dam- er, wonderful fluffy stuff.

  • @N1inSK Well i'm sure we will eventually get a large amount of snow eventually. For as long as I've been here where I live at which is like 20 years I've never seen almost all grass going into December. I live about 2-3 away from the Canadian border in Minnesota/North Dakota.

  • @tommusicfan19 Howdy neighbour! I'm one state to the west, and a nice bicycle ride north of that Most Inconvenient Border.

  • @N1inSK So you must live at Saskatchewan (sorry if I spelled that wrong)?

  • @tommusicfan19 Yup, I'm in SK, and you spelled it right. Well done! :)

  • @N1inSK Haha well I try. I try to look good in my spelling. :)

  • long way too walk...

  • thanks for putting 2 great Guess Who songs together :)

  • @nna737 You are welcome.

  • canada sucks. its too cold all winter, in the summer the days are too hot and there are shit tons of mosquitos in the evenings. 99 percent of anything media is from the states so we are just as stupid as a public and we just re-elected yet another right wing pigeon from outer space

  • I have been a fan of the Guess Who all of my life. I remember seeing them in Edmonton in 1967 when they played at Meadowlark Mall.

  • As bas as the USA is getting I might just have to become a Refugee from the states to Canada.

  • @MargoMitchell Hah! I beat ya to it. Great place to live. I won't ever leave.

  • YEAH RUNNIN BACK TO SASKATOON IT'S HOME GROWN LOVE THE MAPLE LEAF THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKIN ABOUT

  • @MegaBesomeone In spite that i'm American I live about 3-4 hours from the border, only been up in Manitoba for a short while but it seems like a pretty nice country.

  • @tommusicfan19 hey, if u want to see somewhere beautiful in manitoba, have you ever been to Hecla Island?

  • Two great Guess Who tunes, great band!

Thanks for the video, so many good pics :)

  • what a great couple of songs,thanks

  • 3:30 for share the land

  • omg the last part of "share the land" gives me the goosebumps!!! please tell me more songs like "share the land" not particly guess who but songs like that!!!

    please

  • Great song! One of my favorite Canadian groups all-time! This song was live at the Paramount in 1972. One of my favorite live songs all-time!

  • this song was controversial when it came out--said it gave Saskatoon a bad rap

  • @JT422B

Lester Bangs: The Doors? Jim Morrison? He's a drunken buffoon posing as a poet.

Alice Wisdom: I like the Doors.

Lester Bangs: Give me the Guess Who. They got the courage to be drunken buffoons, which makes them poetic.

  • Why does the Nazi Anthem come up directly after this video ends?

  • @Pitcard not sure... I never really noticed it until you pointed it out.

  • @Pitcard And why it the featured video? Why would YouTube suggest people listen to it?

  • @Pitcard Yeah....that's disturbing.

  • @Pitcard Why shouldn't it?

  • That's because the Guess Who were Nazi sympathizers! . . . just kidding!!!

  • Yes this is Canadian patriotic, love it. This and "Guns Guns Guns".

  • RIP Kurt. You were the most blistering guitarist I ever saw in person, in concert...ever...

  • boy those men were talented , . . .

  • I am from Upstate NY, 30 miles from the Canadian border. Ive been to Canada on many occasions and I liked it very much. Of all the Canadians I met, ony two were assholes. (Had to ask 'em if they wanted to sep outside, they didn't)

  • PRAIRIES! YEAH! FROM A CANADIAN PRAIRIE GIRL!

  • HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO BURT... TOMORROW (DEC 31)

MY FAVE SINGER FOR OVER 41 YEARS!! KEEP ON ROCKIN',

  • @popspoptunes it has been 41 years , where the hell has the time went?

  • Nice post there Tom. Great to hear this on occasion

  • I can't stop listening to this song. Idk why!!

  • Great rockin' song... Brings me back to my childhood in Detroit, where the Guess Who fortunately received lots of airplay! Lightfoot, Guess Who, and BTO are really important to many of us Michiganders. "Paramount" is flat-out one of the best live rock recordings by ANY group. And thanks to all of you for answering the racist clown with such intelligence and patience... Love Canada and Canadians!

  • Why the fuck is Nazi shit showing up on a guess who page...slanderous shit..makes no sense..

  • Comment removed

  • Burton Cummings singing does it for me...

  • @4doxiemom Aye. Burton was eminently listenable.

  • 5:30- 5:51 <3

  • Had this back in 72!!! My first real rock n roll record, was all just pure pop before this!!

  • Played this over and over in the early 70's. This UT version is truncated though.

  • The "Live From The Paramount" was one of my first albums, and I will love it forever, especially this track...

  • Live@the Paramount is one of my favorite live albums

  • Been hangin around American Women - been learnin about lies.

  • Ive been hanging 'round Canadians, I been learning about nerds....

  • lived in saskatoon all my life. awsome city besides all the god dam indians. but no cities perfecet

  • You ass! What a rude and truely american thing to say. They're called aboriginal Canadians! And, for your information, its "god damned" if you're going to TRY to be a total dick at least be educated about it. You're not impressing anyone.

  • @spellbindinglunacy99 im not trying ti inpress anyone. im jsut sayinf saskatoon has problems like any other city. and most of are problems are from fukin indians

  • Hey peeonthecree,

Better to be thought a fool, then to open your mouth and remove all doubt.

Judging by your spelling, I'd say you never made it past 4th grade hmmm. I'm surprised you can (almost) put together an entire sentence. Or am I giving you too much credit here ? ? :o)

  • @blackwolf1956 im in second year at the U of S. strange that indians get so many more scholarships and opportunities but they still decide to fill up the jails instead of going to school.

  • @peeonthecree

What would you do if your children were forcefully taken from your home, hen made to attend a school, where they were beaten, starved and raped. (By the Priests & Nuns who were supposed to take care of them) Take away the land you lived on, forced you to speak a Foreign language. And if you practiced your Customs & Ceremonies, were promptly arrested & thrown in jail ?

Tell me " Mr. peeonthecree " how would you react to this today, if that were to happen to you ?

  • @blackwolf1956 has this happened to you or are you bitching about the past. thays all u neeches do it bitch about the past.

  • @peeonthecree

No, it's narrow minded assholes like you that have no understanding or compasion for what happened to the Native peoples of North America when the Europeans came here and took by force what they wanted. You seem to put yourself above everyone else, why is that ? Bcos your White ? Are you more supeior than non - Whites ?

  • @blackwolf1956 no but im supeior than you. every race has went throught there shit but indians have been the ones to hold grudges and bitch the most. and ur a prime example of this

  • @peeonthecree

No, you're wrong, but that does'nt surprise me.

You were the one bitchin' & whining about the " Fucking Indians " around your area to begin with. Go whine & cry on your boyfriends shoulder, maybe that'll help you feel somewhat more like a man hmmm. :o)

  • @blackwolf1956 and how am i wrong?

  • i been to most the places they mention =)

  • Well that sounds cool...many places in Canada are gorgeous, I want to visit those too...and I love how permissive they are with partying on certain things that 'grow' haha.

Yep, Canada,as well as you Canadian folks in general are quite fine with me bro'....God Bless.....; > ]

  • We are quite fucking fine!

  • @zqlbuicz yeah it's great here we'll in the spring damn in saskatoon it gets -40 windchill thats -25 farenheit

  • no way cuz...that tune is a piece of badness...this is from a Detroiter by the way...ayyy?

Sometimes the Canadians come up with some really kick-ass stuff, so I'll thank ya' to get off their asses...how 'bout it?

  • I'll second that from ANOTHER DETROITER!

  • ''a world without canadian music would be a canadian disaster''

  • worldly disasterrr

  • Drove to S'toon from the East Coast(my turf)10 years ago with wife and kids to visit the in-laws on the farm. As we saw the city skyline appear on the horizon, thunderheads in a big sky, this song came on the radio. Its great to be Canadian.

  • add to the long list of reasons to be glad to be Canadian, great stuff.

  • @kontroledkos english? Oh wait............

  • @kontroledkos Yes I recall that "American Woman" went very nicely with Colombian gold.

  • haha i just saw the bachman &cummings concert in s'toon last nite

fanatstic! this was the opening song!

for being like 60 they've stil got it!!

  • i hear theres a lot of complaints with the guess who touring, people are going expecting to see bachman cummings, and being disappointed

  • That's the pretender band, headed by ex G.W member Jim Kale, that was touring in the U.S. It's a fraud really based on a legal technicality, I was even fooled some years ago into buying an album with the fake G.W on it. It didn't have Burt, Garry, Kirk, Don, Greg, or Randy on it, basically like one of those albums you used to find in the supermarket.

  • ya, he trademarked the name or something, owns the rights whatever. but the album that you bought, did it have bachmans pic on the cover? thats funny if it did

  • The name of the album was called "Liberty" It was a cassette which was wrapped in cellophane, so of course I couldn't check the liner notes before buying. There wasn't a picture of anyone from the band, the original or the pretenders, on the cover, just some stylized writing. Needless to say I was disappointed to find out that they were "The Guess Who" in name only.

  • You just HAVE to append the url with &fmt=18 if you want to hear this one in glorious stereo.

  • I can listen to this great song by my favorite band and pretend that I'm living in Lethbridge Alberta again, young and very happy to be in such an awesome country.

  • live from the paramount, RBTS was best they ever did

  • groovy tunes

  • Saskatoon was never recorded in the studio, only from the live stage in Seattle in 1972. Donnie McDougall had just joined the band and Jim Kale was on the way out. Try to find the Buddha CD release of Live at the Paramount that has more songs on it than the original record album release, including a live performance of Share the Land.

  • awesome song

  • Somebody please post Humpty's Blues (LIVE)

  • why not running back to winnipeg?

  • its not worth running to hehe GO RIDERS!!!!!!

  • because there's nothing in winnipeg worth running to

  • omg LOVE IT... saw these guys with my dad, we got crunk...best time of my life!

  • How crunk were you?

  • what concert is this from??

this isnt 'live at the paramount', is it? i cant tell

  • Yep "Running Back To Saskatoon" is from Live From Paramount.

  • @tommusicfan19 How can I find " Truck'in across the Sky?

  • @HideUrLoveAway it is from the Paramount, but it's cut.

  • @HideUrLoveAway This is the recorded version

  • @lion36ify Yes recorded live at the Paramount Theatre, Seattle Washington, on May 22, 1972 :-)

Share the land is the studio version.
