  • Hello, I am knitting a sock and the problem is that my two patterns are 14 stitches away from each other (one image on the front and other on the back) what can I do to change colours, but that the yarn wouldn't go straight through the hole of the sock to the other pattern?

  • @kaikokitosuris I haven't knit two colors that far apart before...but I would look up intarsia knitting. I haven't done this before! I will pm you the full answer I got from the Knitting and Crochet Bible about carrying yarn...

  • When you change colours you only need to twist once, especially if the new colour stitches are few to prevent a bumpy 3D effect. Better still don't twist just carry the colour you're not using over (search: knitting carrying yarn up).

  • @ThePetalbluelite Thanks for the tip! :D

  • @Artsyfartsy123 ok, thank you!

  • How did you start in with the White without losing the other colours?

  • @earlandbob Hi!

I just started knitting with it and left about 2 inches tail that I ended up weaving in later with a needle, once the project was done. (Sometimes I cheat and put a little knot!!)
