I would have liked if the interviewer would have made the point that Republicans and Democrats are one in the same when it comes to protecting the status qua against the constitution, and that Ron Paul is the only candidate that upholds the constitution. In all my years of school I learned the most at home, reading on the internet or in my own books. School taught people to read and recite which is very much what people do with TV. You notice when talking about Obama he couldn't gather his thoughts but once he was free to think without the government involved he was able to speak more clearly and faster. You say that the government is driving up costs of healthcare, I'm wondering why you say this. I feel like it is caused mostly by insurance because hospitals can charge insurance companies an elevated rate and if the insurance company doesn't foot the entire bill of the visit then it's left to the consumer.
@wsharp23 Hospitals actually charge insurance companies less... or to be more exact, they charge the same it's just that insurance companies have heavy hitters negotiating down the cost to the company. Insurance companies lobby both sides of the political debate and always come up smelling like roses, so yes... the government does drive up the cost of healthcare by bending to the insurance companies' objective. Get rid of insurance companies and doctors can charge less.

@xXHeartagramTwinXx It helps to look at where a president CAN act directly, with or without Congress. (Especially since Paul is a strict consitutionalist.) The main such area is the military and foreign policy. For example: a president cannot get rid of the DEA on his own, but he can pardon those sitting in federal prisons who haven't committed any crimes against persons or property. He can shape their policy to make the DEA into an educational agency, rather than what they're doing now in CA.

@xXHeartagramTwinXx Paul wants it closed, charges brought, and trials held. During Bush, he voted against the act which created the "enemy combatant" concept and denied trials. Then he introduced new legislation to overturn this Military Commissions Act. Last year, he voted against another act which prevented the movement of prisoners from Gitmo and classified the photos of the detainees. Earlier this year, the President signed an appropriations bill which is keeping Gitmo open for now.

You notice when talking about Obama he couldn't gather his thoughts but once he was free to think without the government involved he was able to speak more clearly and faster. That's because he subconsciously didn't feel bonded anymore and his mind was able to be free away from the shackles of government.
Put simply, your subconscious person wants to be free of these shackles put on by government. People are just afraid of whether or not Paul is telling the truth cause of a lack of knowledge

You say that the government is driving up costs of healthcare, I'm wondering why you say this. I feel like it is caused mostly by insurance because hospitals can charge insurance companies an elevated rate and if the insurance company doesn't foot the entire bill of the visit then it's left to the consumer.

@wsharp23 Hospitals actually charge insurance companies less... or to be more exact, they charge the same it's just that insurance companies have heavy hitters negotiating down the cost to the company. Insurance companies lobby both sides of the political debate and always come up smelling like roses, so yes... the government does drive up the cost of healthcare by bending to the insurance companies' objective. Get rid of insurance companies and doctors can charge less.

Ron Paul's message is such: that the Federal Government get out of these social issues and give many of these decisions back to the state. This guy has his heart in the right place and he's obviously heard some things that make sense to him, he just needs to fill in the gaps in his knowledge of what's actually going on - that's all. He seems like a good guy - he just seems very nervous at speaking on camera, Adam has a pretty hardcore presence obviously, and I think he intuitively knows he doesn't know some things, and is probably unconsciously worried about look stupid. @xXHeartagramTwinXx It helps to look at where a president CAN act directly, with or without Congress. (Especially since Paul is a strict consitutionalist.) The main such area is the military and foreign policy. For example: a president cannot get rid of the DEA on his own, but he can pardon those sitting in federal prisons who haven't committed any crimes against persons or property. He can shape their policy to make the DEA into an educational agency, rather than what they're doing now in CA.

@xXHeartagramTwinXx Paul wants it closed, charges brought, and trials held. During Bush, he voted against the act which created the "enemy combatant" concept and denied trials. Then he introduced new legislation to overturn this Military Commissions Act. Last year, he voted against another act which prevented the movement of prisoners from Gitmo and classified the photos of the detainees. Earlier this year, the President signed an appropriations bill which is keeping Gitmo open for now.

@dreamcore It sounds like he's gonna be a good president, that he would care about human rights. I just hope he isn't a liar like Obama or as stupid as Bush. I think he will be president!
