  • I am lucky that my Zellers is not closing, I had a lot of memories there. I am happy that Zeddy made a return in the flyers, but they should use him in the ads still.

  • @401RoadWarrior It means is the federal taxes on fuel, which have long been the subject of complaints and gas stations saying "the price isn't our fault!", come long before carbon taxes were ever suggested. If there's a carbon tax in some provinces, it's probably a small proportion of the taxes on fuel, and is not the reason our stuff costs more (as our stuff has cost more since before carbon taxes). Sounds like climate change denialist propaganda to me. "Blame the prices on envirofascists!!!"

  • Why is thig guy laughing? His ass is going to be broke.....

  • I know what the promotion should be... everything in the store ... 1 cent :-)

  • I think the Zellers I work at is changing into a Target, I'm actually pretty happy about it, even though I might be getting another job soon, because the GM where I work is a complete asshole.

  • ha I get it because targets mascot is a bull terrier! lolz

  • I'll see this guy working at a Target stocking shelves :)

  • I remember one time I bought half a pound of candy there for 17 cents...

  • That guy is going to go to the roof after work and jump off. I can tell.

  • tbh it will be sad to see zellers go. they've been around for 80 years and i'll miss their flyers and tv ads. it almost feels like america is taking over our country. target needs to stay down in u.s. where people actually like target -.- 35,000 people are going to lose their jobs without first-pick employment at target.

  • @missnicolemcg How cute thinking anything you've ever done could possibly impact me. You are probably a pathetic dropout cutting peoples hair or something equally ridiuculous. Your impact on society is nothing. You are easily replaced just like all Zellers employees.

  • Comment removed

  • @missnicolemcg Not for long. When the leases get sold their jobs all get terminated. They CAN apply at the new store that comes in their place, but they won't necessarily get hired.

  • T-T

  • @missnicolemcg It breaks my heart to see people lose their minimum wage jobs to get another minimum wage job in the same location.

  • ZELLERRRRRSSSSS ... I will miss you.

  • It sucks the company is being bought out but hey the store I work at isn't being bought. It's one of the few stores remaining a Zellers.

  • is the joke that these commercials are all deeply unfunny....because then I guess it is kind of humorous.

  • @creejay

they made me chuckle somewhat (somewhat). this one is the worst of the 3.

  • Cant believe their going outta business i mean this is were my grand parents made enough to buy a house when they came from india sucks they had a great run :(

  • Your the executive managing director of Zellers? With commercials like this...how on Earth did you ever get hired? A Zellers cashier hire you or something? Lol! You should of been fired ages ago!

  • the joke of this I am going to lose my job...hahaha

  • You know your commercials suck when the only person laughing is the actor

  • hahahahah I love this

  • Oh Zellers ):

    Whyy!? We don't want Target!

  • @Nicholas2576 Actually it's about 11% more expensive in Canada. #FACT

Look it up. Just google "Canada-US Price Gap" and you'll see the statement the Bank of Canada made.

  • @itinerantmike Weird isn't it. The company that pretty much founded canada is now american owned.

  • @hd92122 Truth. I live in canada but I'm 5 mins from the US border and 15 mins from an american wal mart. The prices in american wal mart are dirst cheap. Canadian wal mart is actually expensive. If people want a deal/cheap stuff wal mart is the last place on the list in canada. I always shop at american wal mart. The savings is ridiculous.

  • @ThePantyDroper :) you're the only sensible person that has replied to my comment. The rest are under the illusion that we have things cheaper here in Canada.. LOL

  • @hd92122 So I've noticed lol. Americans have no idea how good they have it. I just bought a 2011 ford F150. I paid 30 grand canadian plus %12 tax which I thought was a great deal. I found out not too long ago if I crossed the border and bought a truck in washington I could have saved about 9 grand. FML

It costs me $154 to fill my truck with gas here. I cross the border and it costs me $107. Everything is cheaper there.

  • @ThePantyDroper unless your in Alberta :P But yeah that blows

  • @ThePantyDroper It's quality not quantity (aka Americans suck)

  • @ThePantyDroper American Food is cheap, but so are the regulations and often the quality, especially fast food! ..... But do we still cross the border for groceries, definitely. It's cheaper.

  • @IvidUwin Ever been to trader joe's in the states? Not only is it significantly cheaper but the quality is by far better than any grocery store in canada. Majority of the food is fresh and organic such as their salsa and dips, they make them fresh and package it in store. Downside, the food must be consumed within a week. I do all my grocery shopping there except for fruits and vegetables. I'm vegetarian and trader joe's has a massive selection of vegetarian foods.

  • @IvidUwin But I agree about the fast food. It tastes like shit. Canadian fast food is better for some reason.

  • @ThePantyDroper They're only dirt cheap though because the Walmart products are made in foreign countries. The low prices at our Walmarts in is why our economy sucks compared to you Canadians!

  • @YumiOfTheFadedTsunam makes sense. I was looking on the american walmart site for a home gym and I noticed some of them like the bowflex have models I've never seen before that are super cheap. Did some research and most of the stuff walmart carries is exclusive to walmart and the models whether it's a tv, workout equipment, stereo, are lower end than what you would find elsewhere. In canada the wal mart has the same stuff as any other store.

  • @ThePantyDroper Exactly! It's because it's cheaper to pay workers in foreign companies and ship the products to America than it is to pay American workers. The working conditions have to be good, the workers have to be paid minimum wage, and many product tests have to be performed if the product is made in America. It basically ensures that Americans loose their money to big corporations that manufacture products in foreign countries! >3<

  • @YumiOfTheFadedTsunam But then why doesn't canada get the same stuff as american walmart? Does it have something to do with the cost of importing?

  • @ThePantyDroper Most likely it does. And It's probably also because Walmart is an American Company, so the ones that run the Walmart stores are probably making prices higher for Canadians because they can get more money that way... since our country is having money issues, if they jack-up the prices too much here, people won't be able to afford anything.... I think that's the reasoning behind it.

  • @ThePantyDroper NAFTA allows you to import US and MX products with Zero Duty but not other foreign goods. So those cheap Bangladeshi t-shirts you want to buy are hit with 16-18% duty when they cross the border from the US warehouses.

  • @ThePantyDroper "The prices in american wal mart are dirst cheap. Canadian wal mart is actually expensive." 3 major reasons for that: universal healthcare in CDA (Obamacare still on paper only until 2015 unless US Supreme Court repeals it next year or a Rep candidate wins the next election and repeals it as well), fuel costs (global warming taxes included) AND the population of each country. And all of the above BEFORE applying local sales taxes.

    /watch?v=6SNdbWtHJ4E

    I'm CDN from Toronto.

  • @401RoadWarrior Also like mentioned in another comment by me and someone else, we don't get the walmart exclusive products which are cheaper than products at other stores such as TV's, work out machines, stereos. Walmart america gets cheap versions.

  • @ThePantyDroper IMHO buying from the States is worth it only if you're down there with a different reason, business trip or on vacation, by car of course, and you stay down there 7+ days to get the $750 tax exemption, for 1-day border crossing shopping you have just $50 tax exemption (unless you lie to the CDN border guards, on your own risk of course) plus you gotta add fuel costs AND, depending where you cross the border, bridge toll, all ONT bridges to US are toll ones. Also state sales taxes

  • @401RoadWarrior It's not that bad. I live 5 mins from the US border in BC. I've crossed many times and have come back with over $300 worth of stuff. They never say anything to me or make me pay duties/taxes. As long as I'm not taking anything like vegetables they don't care. I cross once a month to fill up gas. Here my truck costs me $160 to fill. In the US it costs me around $115 so I save a lot.

  • @ThePantyDroper Obviously I have zero knowledge of the BC/WA border crossing, been just once in that area. from TO to Seattle so I went up to Blaine and watched out of curiosity cars coming into US thru or around that Arch, I'd compare your case with ppl living in Niagara Falls, ONT so right on the border, but TO is about 120+ km from the border, so to/from Buffalo = 240+ km, $3 bridge toll and almost 10% sales tax in NYS, gas also very expensive in NYS (like in Cali) compared with rest of USA.

  • @401RoadWarrior Well it's the same as over there but the border guards are pretty easy going. I asked why they never make me pay duties when I bring back more than the limit, the lady said it's usually no big deal. If a border gaurd makes you pay duties usually hes just doing it to be a dick. I have gotten an asshole who accused me of trying to smuggle my own jacket across.

Curious to know how much gas is in toronto? We pay $1.40 per litre.

  • @ThePantyDroper $1.11 regular.

Crossed the border 30+ times in the past 13 years, mostly thru NYS but also thru MI, VT and NH from Quebec, I learned all their questions, american guys and canadian guys, girls as well, they also listen to your accent, how calm and fast you answer their questions, they always look at your reactions when talking to them, that's how they see when you're lying, in time bought tons of things from the States, mostly from DE & NH, no sales tax, VA 5%, twice from MT 0%.

  • @401RoadWarrior Fuel taxes predate mainstream global warming support. I'm not aware of any that are actually due to global warming, though there OUGHT to be.

  • @balthcat "Fuel taxes predate mainstream global warming support." What is that mean, in plain english, please.

Doesn't BC and/or Vancouver have a carbon tax on top of all other federal and excise taxes that make up the final gas price at the pump? Quebec as well.

  • @ThePantyDroper People like you are why all the Zellers employees are being fired and rehired at zero seniority. Just keep that in mind.

  • @JBhab30 I'm not sure what a droller is but 1) the Canadian dollar is below the US dollar and 2) You said "our economy isn't shit like your's s we can afford it" but you probably should have looked at my profile before you made a fool of yourself and realized I'm also Canadian so we're in the same economy and 3) Most stores in Canada are 11 to 13 percent more expensive than the same ones in the USA. This information is very easy to access so next time do a little research.

  • so, is everyone hiring the played out advertising agency that made the old spice commericals ? when weird becomes mainstream, it isn't weird anymore. time to spice it up a bit, variety and uncommon is key. i'm not interested in no pants bologna sniffer.

  • Who here remembers EATON's? Yeah, I thought so.

  • @JBhab30 Dollar ^^^^^********

  • this is age-restricted because hes wearing boxers?! come on now! there wasnt even any bulge

  • why is this flagged?

  • A few of the Zellers stores are remaining Zellers :D As for the stores that will change to Target, employee's have to resubmit their resumes and be hired back on as Target employees, starting at the bottom even if they have years of seniority working for Zellers, which sucks big time.

  • @SummerGirls18 i work at zellers and apparently we get to keep jobs.

  • @SummerGirls18 Great reason to stay in school!!!

  • If he's not wearing pants why does he bother to put on suspenders? lol

  • My mom works at Zellers, and she's devistated by this change, laying off so many employees.

THANKS TARGET FOR MESSING UP MY FAMILY AND MANY MORE

  • america in debt? no problem bro we'll just go to canada

  • dumb

  • I will greatly miss zellers...remember having a blast when I was a kid in their toy section

  • im happy target is coming to canada : )

  • This is so wrong. Zellers when it was Zellers, wouldn't have done this ad. And Target is abusing of our Canadian Pride.

  • In Stratford the Zellers is going into target! YAY! Cause the one we got in Stratford is kinda useless... But for the holiday sale everything MUST be 85% off. It will be the only way everything is gonna be bought because of the economy . And this is coming from a 12 year old! Have a great day guys!

  • I worked at zellers for a year and a half. worst year and a half of my life.

  • Haha this is great!

  • yay its getting replaced by Target!

  • Oh! and as of June 2 2012 Those zellers that are leased by Target and Wal-Mart will be closed and that means pretty much all of them.

  • Zellers will be leased to Target and Walmart. Some stores will turn into Targets I think kingsway Zellers is one and 2 more in Edmonton I forgot which ones. The rest will either be closed or Wal-Mart will be Leasing them. They will no longer be Zellers or new Wal-Mart stores instead they will be Wal-Mart owned discount stores. Every Zellers will be facing the same situation except maybe a couple of them, though I only heard of one store which will still remain a zellers but forgot where it is.

  • Zellers will be dead like BlockBuster due to increased competition from Walmart.

Sooner or later, it will be replaced by Target once it comes here.

  • stupid?

  • Wow this is confusing as hell. First of all Zellers was bought by Target Corp ( Americans ) a long time ago already so I fail to understand why they're acting all Canadian in this. Secondly, they're acting as if they don't give a damn about being "Canadian" and letting Wal-Mart enter the Canadian market. Third and not least they basically make themselves look ridiculous and diminished, maybe they want us to think they're ready to sell stuff at any price but to me they just look fishy and cheap.

  • @MyHeadAsplodes no it was always canadian

  • @mattmax11 What are you talking about? Ok Zellers WAS Canadian but not anymore. Sorry to blow your bubble but it's the property of a USA corporation and it's been like this for a few years already.

  • more Chinese goods please! we need chinese goods now! i need to buy everything because i have nothing better to do! oh please put a sale, i need to buy and consume god damn it!

  • I CAN'T DISLIKE VIDEOS ANYMORE.!! WTF

  • YEES target is way better.

  • Everything Free !!

  • TARGET BOUGHT ZELLERS...Does that help some of you guys know now?..well yea..its sad they are leaving =(

  • @rachaeldg4 I work at Zellers and this is a sarcastic joke. There will still be Zellers stores, but just a few now.

  • @rachaeldg4 Target didn't buy Zellers. They brought some of the properties. Zellers is still owned by HBC.

  • @rachaeldg4 Target did not buy Zellers per say. Rather, Target purchased the leases of Zellers' space from the company. HBC will still have 70 something stores following the conversion of the others.

  • There's a small Zellers store near me in Toronto but it is actually NOT being taken over by Target!!! UGH!!! Like they got rid of the restaurant years ago!!! It's such bullshit!!!

  • zellers is just turining into a target after all zellers was a canadian dupe of target

  • Target is buying zellers

  • make a flash mob?

  • wow thats stupid zellers is better then target

  • If they had commercials like this for Zellers, they would probably have more customers, just saying.

  • Wait... what? I had no idea Zellers was going to close...

  • the problem people arnt getting is that ever since walmart zellers has been slowly dieing, over the passed 10 years alot of zellers have closed through out BC people just dont like change and zellers has always been that store that you always shop at for many reasons

  • Target sucks. Zellers is the latest Canadian chain store to be targeted by U.S. imperialism! STOP THIS INVASION NOW!

  • haha, zellers was the first place i got arrested on my 14th birthday for theft under $5000 -.-

  • Target...

  • Theres no such thing as an executive managing director....its called a CEO >.<

  • thats the executive manager? no wonder why their closing.....

  • pathetic

  • YAY! i can't wait for target 2 come :D

  • Uhhh... I work at Zellars and this is kinda weird lol

  • Zellers is dead now

  • And THIS VIDEO makes it seem like the owners dont giving a flying fack what happens to the rest of the locations

  • Im going to restate my point again since most of everyone commenting on it seem to be missing it. I know Target is an American company. I know that Target bought Zellers. What most dont seem to know is that they bought the leases not the name. So Here I go on a rant. There are about 80 some locations left still a zellers. What I WANNA KNOW is are they closing? I WORKED at one up to about a month ago.

  • So much stuff is going to be stolen from target. From people who will remain nameless, I'm sure.

  • zellers is being replaced with target.

  • I'm sure all the people losing their jobs find this hilarious .

  • LOOOL zellers are closing about time, my brother got banned from there....lol

  • Zellers was always that store that made me depressed in the mall.

  • What. Just. Happened.?

  • Zellers > Target

  • Wow this is awesome, way to go Zellers.

  • I like Zellers! :D In the mall where I live, kids and teens are like " Spotcheck and Stitches are the shit! " Me, I'm like " Zellers is my 1st fav store! Tehehe! " xD Zellers releases new CDs early! They even got my fav DVD shows their! :D

  • 105k veiws, 40 likes.. Yeah.. Good job BUYING those views Zellers....

  • So funny, I forgot to laugh...

  • i liked it better when it was called Towers

  • is this the playstation 3 guys brother?

  • Love how the box gets full and suddenly becomes empty.

  • LMFAO! Good job Zellers, this should make our last christmas season one to remember <3

  • Scumbag Executive:

    Doesn't wear pants

Still won't use the word Christmas in a Christmas ad

  • DUMB!

  • So WTF are ALL Zellers closing or not? Cause i work inside one and it would be nice to know WTH is going on.

  • @motlypunk13 they are making fun of us (employees of zellers)

  • @onigiri1205 oh ok. See that make sense cause why treat them with respect when you can make it a joke. Hence why i quit.

  • @motlypunk13 you'll probably still be working there.. but just wearing a new uniform ..Walmart or whoever bought them out

  • @SenseiKrush Nope all the ones that were bought out lose their jobs and have to reapply. Plus i left so im not wearing any company shirt

  • @motlypunk13 Target an american brand is taking over most zellers it depends where your store is if it will be closing or not

  • @bellecar161 I know its an american barand, and i know its taking over most zellers. I also know they sold some locations to Walmart, Canadian Tire and Sobeys. I also know i was told ( when i was employed by them quit about a month a go now ) That our location is not closing. BUT this video is making it seem like the locations that are still a zellers are closing they just havent said yet. Thats my point

  • @motlypunk13 There should be notices in your staff lounge at work about FAQ. If you can't find it I would talk to your supervisor. I'n still confused about all the stores closing or not as well, it's not very clear.

  • @motlypunk13 There Changing Zellers to Target next year

  • @MrSSHater They are changing MOST To Target not all of them were bought. -_-

  • @motlypunk13 No, just a lot of them.

  • @motlypunk13

yeah wtf there aren't many Zellers around now :(

I've always wanted to try their instore food (I know it's probably terrible food but I've always wanted to try regardless). Too bad that isn't going to happen now :(

  • @motlypunk13 The zellers franchise was sold to Target. Im not sure if they are closing or if there just gonna go under new management.

  • @motlypunk13 The Zellers are closing indeed, the one in my neghborhood was bought by Walmart

  • @Moraud5386 Im going to state this one last time. The zellers that were BOUGHT are CLOSING and turning into WHATEVER owns the lease now. NOT ALL zellers were bought. The one I work in/ worked AT has NOT been bought and is STAYING a zellers. NOW FOR THE LAST GODDAMN TIME, my POINT IS this video makes it seem like the ones that are LEFT may not stay open cause it seems like headoffice doesnt give a rats ass anymore.

  • The big question is why didn't they come up with something like this a couple of years ago?!

I love Zellers, but they needed an awesome concept like this say, four, five years ago!

  • @yourmandan zellers is lame. anything you can get in there you can find cheaper somewhere else
