@megalodonNL not bios dependent but your os has to support eufi in order to boot itself otherwise all ur gonna c is the eufi bios and your not gonna be able to go into windows or w/e os u use yeah i dont think xp supports uefi without a fix that let it run. im pretty sure theyll come out with it or already have it so it runs on eufi
I'm actually a bit disappointed. 1:1 like a BIOS, just with Mouse...well...that's it? It actually looks the same. I expected a way more user friendly interface with way more Information/use of the space. Like the simple display in the beginning.
@Chloiber , maybe for the novice, this could be a useless...but with win7 it now got support for GUID instead or MBR (changeable partition size without data loss). And the OSX86 scene can now boot nativly to mac with only a uefi patch.
Does it support 120hz monitor? Yes 120hz makes mouse movement so much better. See reviews of these new "3d ready" 120hz monitors, they all rave about how smooth mouse and window movement are.
- "I spent the first half hour seriously just dragging windows back and forth across the desktop - from a 120Hz display to a 60Hz, stunned at how smooth and different 120Hz was. Yeah, it’s that different."
This intel sucks. Upgrade again for new socket 1155 why the hell we do that. Cheap way to make profits. I better get AMD now. Intel ripping customers and their hard earned money.
thanks anand, looking forward to compatibility testing with UEFI motherboards and old OS installations (xp 32bit) for people who upgrade hardware not software

AMI had a GUI-based BIOS in 1994.
So GUI-based configuration isn't something new with (U)EFI.

Is there a way to change the screen resolution of the new UEFI bios? Mine could do with being a bit higher (my screen is native at 1440x900)

hopefully AMD 900 series will support UEFI, it's long overdue. Apple's been using a variant of UEFI since 2006.
