I've said it before and I'll say it again! Bob Costas and the NBA on NBC could make the Clippers vs the Pacers on a Tuesday night in February appear like it's the most important game in the world! That intro made me genuinely interested in this game even though I already know the outcome! BRING BACK THE NBA ON NBC!!!!

WOW! What memories! I was working for NBC when the graphics folks did the opening. We were using SGI and Sun systems to do the rendering. The entire opening took 2 days back then. It was a phenomenal setup. I remember helping network the systems to do the rendering and watching as they put the video together. It was also the first time I met John Tesh, who wrote the music. It was a really fun time.

yes. those are no special effects btw. The whole hangtime at the top as he moved horizontally. He was at the peak of his jump. Just look at his head at the rim level for that long time. It never really came down till after the dunk. MJ was not human. He was truly superman.
