03:20 At that point, when he tests your skills, doesn't Garland think that your name is Ernst? Maybe I'm wrong - its not like the time travel can get confusing at all or anything. :P
HCBailly I know it sounds nice to not sleep to get a lot more time in your life but it's really not. Your mind starts to go crazy and your body will just drop eventually in order to restore itself. I can only sleep for an hour or two a night (weird sleep issue). hehe try that for a couple weeks and you'll see what I mean. Do it for 17 years and you'd wish it weren't so.
You know in legend of the dragoon not killing the enemy will end up with MOOOOREE PARTY MEMBERS in the end if you know what I mean? and yes im going to keep talking about legend of the dragoon until you make a let's play of it ;)
Seems weird that Raynie and Marco were confused you were talking about the white chronicle, but not why a gorilla, Rosch, a kid with goat legs, and a princess were in tow. It'd of been cool if they handicapped you there by only letting you use Marco and Raynie (and so on for the other battles-- using only whoever was there during that plot). Just some artificial difficulty to cover up a plot hole.
I'm so excited to see this finale. *jumps up and down* I hope to get the game after watching the rest of this LP. If I can find it ._.
On another really random note. I love how Granorg has German influences. Like the name of Eruca's guns. Or Stocke's real name: Ernst which is actually a German name. This game keeps on getting better and better!
*Sigh* even though I knew it was coming I've been dreading this games finale, this game and lp has been an epic experience, one of which Im glad to have in the ranks of awesome RPGs,its even been better than some RPGs I've considered great, seeing it end sucks, but at least it will be a good ending (I hope),nevertheless this game has became a favorite for me,I also like this episodes clifhanger,@18:35 it really timed perfectly with the music imo ^_^
I like how Viola has a sprite that looks like, in my opinion, she could have been made into a party member. Her move, Frigid Slash, makes me think this, since it looks a lot like Stocke's Heat Blade. Maybe she once was planned to be a party member, but during development, they chose not to do so.
I dunno, but immortality doesn't sound like that great of a superpower to me... for a couple centuries it would be fun, but you know in the end - you'd just end up going crazy and becoming a super villain (that or going crazy and wandering off somewhere all hermit-style)... now the ability to manipulate subatomic particles at whim... that would be a superpower (in which effective immortality, as well as removing the need to sleep, could theoretically be accomplished) - Just a nerdy thought :P.
And so, the end of another LP is right at hand. The end of all these cliffhangers. The end of all this brain-mushing time jumps... Then a small reprieve for all us faithful fans, only to have this process starting all over again with another LP!
@jackachugaming no the fight he did in the demo he was back in like chapter 3 i think of alternate history because he used Rosch and Aht against a thaumatech
Here's one thing I never got. Stocke does to the past, and all his allies retain there power and abilites. I know why and I get it. But from their point of view how come they are never think, "Hey when did I get so strong" or "What ability was that I couldn't do that before".
If you necer havr, HC, look into the suikoden games. Wonderful jrpg's that break a lot of the cliche and idiosyncracy apparent in most of these games. For instance, there are PLENTY of opportunities to just outright execute the enemies at your mercy.
Tomorrow, the final battle will begin. Tomorrow, the fate of the world will be decided.
Tomorrow, Henri 'Cliffhanger' Bailly will finish Radiant Historia, and cease making us angry with his cliffhangers...only to start up again in a couple of days with FFIV:CC.
@HCBailly True, true...just, can't help but want a solution to be found for Stocke to survive, after being with him the whole game. And it was kind of a tease for him to originally want to try avoiding it, but like you mentioned, it's better that they had him develop as a character instead of automatically do what's "right"..
hcbailly just an idea to be fancy with 4 turns couldn't you place a trap, push a person on a trap, use air assult or wrath blade, place a trap under them so they fall back on it?
I kinda wish the boss gauntlet made a bigger deal about what party you used, i.e. only have Stocke, Marco, and Raynie fight Palomedies. Have Stocke battle Garland alone. It seems like it would be a more powerful statement.
Stocke asked Lippti and Teo to look after Eruca and Rosch because Eruca is Queen of Granorg, and thus will be running things there, and Rosch will likely be running things in Alistel under Raul. Thus, it's kind of important that nothing happens to them--they need to work to rebuild their respective nations and establish a lasting peace throughout Vainqueur. Otherwise everything they've done, including Stocke's sacrifice, could ultimately be for nothing.
For me it's always teleportation and super speed that I see as the best Super power. Not being able to sleep might make you be a little crazy since you have no time to relax.
That's actually interesting, that the name Stocke called himself was actually his real name. Here I thought that name was just a joke, because Ernst means to be truthful when he was lying to Garland.
Heiss: Hey guys I know we've been at war for years, and I'm your mortal enemy, but I want to destroy the world and I need your help with this ancient ritual. You'll be part of something Great!
"Find out next time ... " is the line that makes me pumped up for waiting another episode. But, when the words "on the finale of ..." are added, it makes me sad that the LP will end.
@grenadeofcheese true, there was a lot of people selling peaces of old buildings from Germany. Also some of the cities out there have old under cities that are covered by new roads much like New York, Very mysterious.
Funny how you mentioned the ice being able to poison people. A person i know went to Thailand and was eating at a burger king there, he got sick and had to go to hospital because the ice in his drink poisoned him due to it being made out of the dirty water from the local river.
@HCBailly You should definitely give 'Tales of Vesperia' a try, not only does it break a few of the old JRPG rules, but it is one of the best modern JRPGs I've played in a looooong time.
About the whole JRPG's not killing the villain when they are at the characters mercy one game that I know of does go against it(Tales of Vesperia). That being the main character kills two of the people who were going to get away with their crimes in cold blood.
