  • "It felt like there was a third man, but I passed out."

    That's

    what

    she

    said

  • I have just noticed stocke draws his sword with his left and fights with it on his right hand.

  • 14:07 HC Bailly does not sleep... he LP's. :P

  • 03:20 At that point, when he tests your skills, doesn't Garland think that your name is Ernst? Maybe I'm wrong - its not like the time travel can get confusing at all or anything. :P

  • Nice title reference to Magic The Gathering, HCBailly.

  • HCBailly I know it sounds nice to not sleep to get a lot more time in your life but it's really not. Your mind starts to go crazy and your body will just drop eventually in order to restore itself. I can only sleep for an hour or two a night (weird sleep issue). hehe try that for a couple weeks and you'll see what I mean. Do it for 17 years and you'd wish it weren't so.

  • @SilentlyNikki But if you had the super power to not sleep, you'd ignore those side effects.

  • You know in legend of the dragoon not killing the enemy will end up with MOOOOREE PARTY MEMBERS in the end if you know what I mean? and yes im going to keep talking about legend of the dragoon until you make a let's play of it ;)

  • Seems weird that Raynie and Marco were confused you were talking about the white chronicle, but not why a gorilla, Rosch, a kid with goat legs, and a princess were in tow. It'd of been cool if they handicapped you there by only letting you use Marco and Raynie (and so on for the other battles-- using only whoever was there during that plot). Just some artificial difficulty to cover up a plot hole.

  • @usefulidiot227 Technically, those four dark nodes are all four alternate timelines. They're not part of the standard nor alternate history.

  • I'm so excited to see this finale. *jumps up and down* I hope to get the game after watching the rest of this LP. If I can find it ._.

On another really random note. I love how Granorg has German influences. Like the name of Eruca's guns. Or Stocke's real name: Ernst which is actually a German name. This game keeps on getting better and better!

  • *Sigh* even though I knew it was coming I've been dreading this games finale, this game and lp has been an epic experience, one of which Im glad to have in the ranks of awesome RPGs,its even been better than some RPGs I've considered great, seeing it end sucks, but at least it will be a good ending (I hope),nevertheless this game has became a favorite for me,I also like this episodes clifhanger,@18:35 it really timed perfectly with the music imo ^_^

  • I like how Viola has a sprite that looks like, in my opinion, she could have been made into a party member. Her move, Frigid Slash, makes me think this, since it looks a lot like Stocke's Heat Blade. Maybe she once was planned to be a party member, but during development, they chose not to do so.

  • @TheAcidHairball After the first time you fight her would also be a good time for her to join the team.

I think you're right, it really does seem like she could of been a potential party member.

  • @7:27 That's almost every FF game. But I dont want to be a Heartless Angel with a Maelstrom of spoilers. I might be the Fallen One.

  • TAINTED ICE-CUBES CAN POISON YOU!... Happens all the time

  • "Some can't WAIT to die!" Was that an FFX reference?

  • hypothermia could be like poison

  • Obvious, but since I caught it, Final Fantasy XIII reference.

  • Never having to sleep reminds me of alphonse off of Full metal alchemist you can never sleep and it gets lonely in the night since everyone else is

  • I dunno, but immortality doesn't sound like that great of a superpower to me... for a couple centuries it would be fun, but you know in the end - you'd just end up going crazy and becoming a super villain (that or going crazy and wandering off somewhere all hermit-style)... now the ability to manipulate subatomic particles at whim... that would be a superpower (in which effective immortality, as well as removing the need to sleep, could theoretically be accomplished) - Just a nerdy thought :P.

  • inb4 the next episode isn't the finale

  • "or is the game gonna cheap out and find a way to stop the desertification in the last 5 minutes"

thats a question i've been waiting to find out.

  • GREAT! I might do this one soon!

  • Man, even the dungeon music picks up dramatically when you say "Find out next time on the Finale...", lovely timing.

  • 14:19 @HCBailly The power of insomnia! Just like in FFV.

  • wow... the finale already... feels like this LP started 2 weeks ago...

very nice LP (sayin it now gettin it out of the way), and very well done!

Now, have fun destroying the final boss >=D

  • rosh is the ultimate tanker! 6 or so levekls behind and he has like al least 300 hp mor ethan everyone else.

  • I no want it to end

  • granorg soldiers look just like ROsch, and Alistel soldierslook just like Marco.

  • @88Hyo No wonder alistel got its ass kicked.

  • @314Marvin no wonder.

  • never having to sleep? look at gaara from naruto

  • @Darkspriter4

its not that Gaara doesn't HAVE to, hes AFRAID to (if i remember correctly)

  • Lol i cant believe I actually beat this game at level 47 lol and here there is a much easier way of beat the game. I had to take the hard way lol

  • And so, the end of another LP is right at hand. The end of all these cliffhangers. The end of all this brain-mushing time jumps... Then a small reprieve for all us faithful fans, only to have this process starting all over again with another LP!

    God Bless You HCBailly!!

  • was that battle with palomides the boss battle you used in the tech demo?

  • @jackachugaming no the fight he did in the demo he was back in like chapter 3 i think of alternate history because he used Rosch and Aht against a thaumatech

  • Here's one thing I never got. Stocke does to the past, and all his allies retain there power and abilites. I know why and I get it. But from their point of view how come they are never think, "Hey when did I get so strong" or "What ability was that I couldn't do that before".

  • I wish they made it so you had to use what ever party members you had with you at the time during those events.

  • 5:40 Black Cloud? What is this, Final Fantasy III?

  • Never have*. Too damn hard to type on an ipod.

  • If you necer havr, HC, look into the suikoden games. Wonderful jrpg's that break a lot of the cliche and idiosyncracy apparent in most of these games. For instance, there are PLENTY of opportunities to just outright execute the enemies at your mercy.

  • Tomorrow, the final battle will begin. Tomorrow, the fate of the world will be decided.

Tomorrow, Henri 'Cliffhanger' Bailly will finish Radiant Historia, and cease making us angry with his cliffhangers...only to start up again in a couple of days with FFIV:CC.

    Nuts.

  • @Shadohime Henri 'Cliffhanger Bailly......now it makes sense.

  • why the fuck is Aht with you

  • @FFcactuar Comic relief.

  • @HCBailly no i mean in the parts were shes not spossed to be like against palomedies and garland

  • @FFcactuar And why not ? She's a great character in many ways, and rather entertaining too.

  • @Yenastuundepaspris55 read my reply to HCBaily

  • @FFcactuar the hips are very powerful

  • @mikesa31 there more powerful then musou

  • This game really knows how to drag the ending out (to it's benefit, of course)!

I'm with you on the subject of superpowers! That would be one awesome power! Especially for a college student like me.

  • Wow.. the finale already, man. Doesn't it bother anyone though, that this is basically the opposite of FFX..?

FFX: "We should do something different, and stop this cycle! No one should be the Final Aeon!"

RH: "We should do something different, and stop thi-.. well, no, y'know what, I'll be the Final Aeon, sure!"

  • @MGNSMG Better than pretending that finding a 5-minute solution to a 1000-year old problem actually makes sense.

  • @HCBailly True, true...just, can't help but want a solution to be found for Stocke to survive, after being with him the whole game. And it was kind of a tease for him to originally want to try avoiding it, but like you mentioned, it's better that they had him develop as a character instead of automatically do what's "right"..

  • @HCBailly Just keep hitting Godzilla with swords; he'll eventually fall over!

  • If you dissolve poison into water and then freeze said water, wouldn't the resulting ice be poisonous?

Also, hypothermia in video games would deal damage much in the way of the poison status.

(response to the question about 2 and a half minutes in)

  • "your a bastard to the bone"

  • i'll miss this LP, i need this game.....NOW

  • I like that Viola fan theory.

I think the exploration of Yuna's dilema was deeper in FF10, But I still think this is a great game.

  • Tombstone Pizza FTW

  • Oh god, they're not going to fuse together like Zorn and Thorn are they?

  • hcbailly just an idea to be fancy with 4 turns couldn't you place a trap, push a person on a trap, use air assult or wrath blade, place a trap under them so they fall back on it?

  • 17:00 "It's not over yet. The final boss could actually be remotely challenging!"

Let's actually make it challenging. Ban Gafka.

  • I kinda wish the boss gauntlet made a bigger deal about what party you used, i.e. only have Stocke, Marco, and Raynie fight Palomedies. Have Stocke battle Garland alone. It seems like it would be a more powerful statement.

  • @boblabon

That would've been brilliant. Such an obvious decision to make too.

  • What do you want on your tombstone, Heiss!?

    Heiss: THE WORLD IS SQUARE

  • Wait, so now you're back in the beginning, but you still have Aht?

  • What?! CONTINUITY ERROR!

    *SPOILER*

He cant be. They merged the timelines.

  • @wyvernlord23 The only thing that carried over from Alternate History was the feelings of the characters. The timelines didn't "merge", per se.

  • Stocke asked Lippti and Teo to look after Eruca and Rosch because Eruca is Queen of Granorg, and thus will be running things there, and Rosch will likely be running things in Alistel under Raul. Thus, it's kind of important that nothing happens to them--they need to work to rebuild their respective nations and establish a lasting peace throughout Vainqueur. Otherwise everything they've done, including Stocke's sacrifice, could ultimately be for nothing.

  • I totally forgot about that part! @Demongunner7

  • "Some can't wait to die!" FF10 reference.

  • greeeeat vid

  • For me it's always teleportation and super speed that I see as the best Super power. Not being able to sleep might make you be a little crazy since you have no time to relax.

  • Good Vid!

  • That's actually interesting, that the name Stocke called himself was actually his real name. Here I thought that name was just a joke, because Ernst means to be truthful when he was lying to Garland.

  • Oh, JRPG villains sometimes kill you but you'll revive either in the next chapter or in a secret ending.

  • HCBailly is the first man with a mouth filter

    WAIT

    THERE ARE TOMBSTONE PIZZAS????

Sounds like goron food... with alcohol

  • HCB! read The Thief Who Couldn't Sleep by Lawrence Block!

  • AURON! reference :)

  • i feel like these LPs go by too quickly but get great satifaction from HC saying "On the Finale" because my anticepation for the next LP grows!

  • Is it just me or are pre-finale cliffhangers always the worst, no matter what?

  • Allright,Cecil is at hand!

  • Anyone who has played Dissidia will understand 3:41!

  • So it'll end tomorrow...I guess now's the time to get the popcorn and the handkerchiefs ready.

  • The bad, this LP of this fantastic game ends. The good on the other hand, LP of FF4 PSP begins after that which is another fantastic game :D

  • HCBailly At 16:24 is that a Reference to Auron From Final Fantasy 10

  • Is it bad that I expected your brother's voice after you said "Hello this is HCBailly"

  • Heiss: Hey guys I know we've been at war for years, and I'm your mortal enemy, but I want to destroy the world and I need your help with this ancient ritual. You'll be part of something Great!

    Selvan: Meh... Okay

    Dias: Might as well

Wow Dias and Selvan are DUMB!

  • I agree with no sleep being a great superpower but immortality WILL get extremely boring at some point

  • mmmm FF4 is next :)

  • uhhh... Garland was calling you Ernst because that's what Stocke told him his name was.

Remember, when you got caught and sold to him, he asked your name? Yeah... so it has nothing to do with Heiss.

  • Man I need a DS, look at all these nice rpg's.

  • "Find out next time ... " is the line that makes me pumped up for waiting another episode. But, when the words "on the finale of ..." are added, it makes me sad that the LP will end.

  • Hey, that's Ultimecia's line.

  • although i may be wrong i always felt the JRPGs use ruins for dungeons is for

    1. ruins set a good and mysterious tone to a dungeon

    2. finding hidden treasure in them actually makes sense because you would find artifacts while exploring ruins in real life

  • @grenadeofcheese true, there was a lot of people selling peaces of old buildings from Germany. Also some of the cities out there have old under cities that are covered by new roads much like New York, Very mysterious.

  • 11:30 owwwwwned :)

  • 11:38 that hah, was really weird?

had something in your throat maybe...

  • About Garland, when you were fighting him at that moment, Stocke introduced himself as Ernst. That's why he was calling you that.

  • Wow, its almost over... I'm going to miss this LP a lot but its coming to a close and I'm really looking forward to it.

  • 2:07 I can just imagine Stocke being all like "Who's suffering the 4-digit damage now, Mr. Man?"

  • I will be waiting for this * _ *

  • ....that was a boss fight??? wut....

  • When This LP is over,I'm gonna watch it from start to finish!

  • HC what do kinda ice poisons you

    ME Frostbite xD

  • Funny how you mentioned the ice being able to poison people. A person i know went to Thailand and was eating at a burger king there, he got sick and had to go to hospital because the ice in his drink poisoned him due to it being made out of the dirty water from the local river.

  • @supersmashbrawl12 Well, yeah, but this ice here is specifically labelled "Pure Ice."

  • It's way too easy to make MTG references to this game, lol.

  • I like Garland. He's got a really cool portrait. I wish he joined the party.

  • I thought they would make you play the bosses with the characters you had at the time. Then Aht out of nowhere.

  • My final party too. Can't go wrong with this trio. Sadly, Aht just lost all her use after that boss gauntlet.

  • @HCBailly You should definitely give 'Tales of Vesperia' a try, not only does it break a few of the old JRPG rules, but it is one of the best modern JRPGs I've played in a looooong time.

  • I'm so excited for the finale! This has been a brilliant LP.

  • 5:47 Because as we all know: Ancient technology is always better than that from the present.

  • @daegranos also apply to real life , take xp and vista for example ...

  • @daegranos Absoultly

  • About the whole JRPG's not killing the villain when they are at the characters mercy one game that I know of does go against it(Tales of Vesperia). That being the main character kills two of the people who were going to get away with their crimes in cold blood.

  • mtg reference? mana clash

  • @sotoxful Good call!

  • @HCBailly you know, with your history in Mtg, and all the talk of in this game as the Seiken Densetsu series, I'm surprised on how few references to Mtg there have been.

  • It´s funny that neither Marco nor Rayne had asked about Aht been in that "first mission" node.

How she got there? Its seems everyone, while with Stock can travel time with those black glow... balls of energy... thing...

But it doenst explain why Marco and Rayne had no curiosity at all about the character they will meet just in the future.

  • I think you could have used Rosch just fine against Viola.

  • Hoo boy. This roller coaster of a ride is coming to a close. I'm sad to see it go, but as we know, all good things must come to an end. Can't wait for the final battle. It's the final countdown to the end.

  • need MOAR episodes!

    Don't play with our emotions!

  • I just noticed, Gafka's max HP is 777. That lucky bastard.

  • the poison could be frozen in the ice or a poisonous plant thus giving it the ability to poison you

  • i dont like how aht is there?? wouldnt raynie and marco be like whos that? O.o

  • this has been a great series but I'm a bit surprised that there was no way to save kiel. I thought you would be able to by the end.

  • @totersmcgee The LP isn't over yet..

  • please let this be a double episode day

  • Holy cow, the end begins tomorrow. It's been a long, fun road, and I am surely going to get this game when I get the chance.

The full ending is long, though How will you handle it?

  • This has been a very exciting LP, it's almost sad to see it coming towards it's end.

  • @DTemplar5 Yeah but im also really looking forward to see how HCBailly handles FF IV LP compared to his old LP of SNES version.

  • 3:34 Remember, when Stocke first arrived in Cygnus, he *told* Garland that his name was Ernst. Because he didn't want to blow his cover or reveal his true identity. *facepalm*

  • At 7:40 were you talking about Dissidia?

  • nice ff 8 reference

  • My hero!

  • Love it.
