@IDrinkN20 I'd definately say they're more complex. A quad cam, fuel injected, computer controlled, buzzword complient turbocharged engine is a lot more complex than some 40 year old pushrod V8 with a hotter cam and a 6-71 strapped to it.

A big engine putting out the same hp as a small one is under a lot less stress, too.

Remember 2.0L 4cyl from 40yrs only running like 70HP needed to be re-bored at 50K, that's the technology in terms of durability old V8's share.

On balanced I'd rather take a modern designed 4cyl especially at more typical 250hp power levels. If I wanted say 400HP I'd be happier with a modern V6.

It would alsocost less money to get more power out of a V8 than a 2JZ. Just some common sense if you're a car guy.
