Turkey is already in Europe the only step is to announce and accept Turkey's existance in EU. Turkey is Eu's no.3 trade partner. One of the biggest dynamic population. And to be honest a great power in its region covering the balkans and middle east. Eu is not like 1960's or 90's.. And can not be. In order to cover global politics and muslim world. Eu needs turkey more than turkey needs them.. Democracy, Economy or even Cyprus issues and only "excuses"..

i like turkey but it's not in europe so the hole of it can't join. the eu is a christian club because europe is christian it is not because the eu hates muslims. turkey has huge growth and the eu can use that growth and for me not so many people will leave turkey for western nation because turkey will have new jobs every day. i think everything west of the bosphorus can join but everything east can't thanks euronews. do the same vid or russia joining

not just that its christian, but also, europeans share a wide variety of world views which have had common development, through the system of values created by euro-christianity, and a common pan-ethnic identity. turks are an asian people. they have no business in europe..in fact..the concept of a united europe first comes from a common opposition to the ottoman empire, seen as a foreign invader..

Turkey instead of trying to be part of a Europe skeptical of Turkey and its so called "European identity", It should try to lead Turkish speaking Central Asian that share a great deal of cultural, religious and political values, being secularized nations as well, and also have a lot industrial potential for the raw materials and sources of energy like natural gas...Turkey should continue been an close allied of Europe,yet remaining independent and capable of seeking a role of regional leadership
