  • kool video. i have the same problem with my hp 6000 but not the tools like u have,so ill have to take it to the shop.

  • Don't use a blow torch guys, your risking getting it too hot, just bake in the oven. just remove all the plastic protecting, just pre-heat your oven to 375f and, place some aluminium balls on the corners so that the cookie sheet(also covered with aluminium) does not conduct. bake for 8 mins, cool for 30min.. if you don't believe this works, just search youtube, i did research on this, it works perfect since, and now have a laptop cooler..

  • this video is really cool, can you please share which jet torch you used to heat up the nvidia chip with rosin gel. looking forward to see your reply. Can you please put some video on dell latitude laptops too, Thanks

  • what is that tool u using to heating up? where do i buy it in the us? radio shack?

  • Nice fix, I am working on a similar laptop at the moment. So I just was wondering, what purpose does the small nvidia chip next to the CPU have? Don't you need to reflow and install a new heatsink to that one aswell? Or just have to work on the the "bigger" nvidia chip? Anyways, great video, taught me alot.

  • Nice fix, I am attempting this myself now. Just wondering, what is the smalelr nvidia chip next to the CPU? Don't you need to resolder and install an extra heatsink to that one too? Or just the "bigger" one? Thanks for the video!

  • HOW did u learn to do that>? i wouldnt even attempt it...way too hard 4 me. my hp is 4 yrs old & I will be amazed if it lasts another yr....I will NEVER buy HP again....CRAP!!

  • can any one tell me why heating the vga port.

  • @nicekidnevercry nvidia microchip during the work gets so hot that melts solder and loses contact with the motherboard. You need to remelt solder to get contact between nvidia microchip and motherboard back.

  • Gracias crack, he conseguido arreglar mi PC siguiendo este video. Ojala dure mucho tiempo la reparacion.

  • The only thing about this repair is it's only a temporary fix. It will come back later haunting you. Send them out to have them fixed with the proper machine.

Great video by the way with cleaning the GPU & CPU's. Have to get some of that cleaner to use. Stay Cool!!

  • Ive looked all over and cant find a similar black screen issue in which im having. the laptop turns on shows the HP screen then goes to a black screen with a blank on the top left of the screen which looks like i would be able to type something. this blank flashes a few times then the screen goes black. • Is that gel needed

  • @ceguadarrama that gel is rosin, it helps to clean up the chip legs and make a good contact. But it not necessary, it is just an extra step to make it work.

  • I have an HP Pavilion dv6700, it just went out one day, I tried turning it back on and the powerlights just blink and turn off again then light up and turn off again and the screen doesn't even turn on... my uncle has the same model and same thing happened to his and I know another kid who had the same model same thing happened.... HP sucks.

  • @ghettobeats Yes, this is common HP problem. Repair it yourself as you saw on video, or you can ship all laptops to me, I can repair it for you.

  • great video .. I have used products but since you've used a kind of gel in the circuits....

  • @davide8192 That kind of gel is rosin soldering flux :)

  • oh daamn , and this is exactly why i only fix desktops, congrats bro
