@hairpunut ANyone who can afford a Veyron or an Enzo would easily afford a 918. There are potential buyers out there, but this car will be limited production anyway, so there probably won't be many of them, if they release it. Im sure they will. Only 198 mph? Should be faster. Like 225mph or more.

@sidewaysonhighways uf i had to chose between a 918 a veyron or enzo it would be a 918. and trust me i think they will make it faste they did the same with the cgt. besides the gt2rs is faster. a 911 faster then their own uber car i don't think so so i gues the 918 will get about 50 more hp and even less weight. i think top speed will be around 205-220

@sidewaysonhighways I almost figured they were gonna sacrifice speed for fuel economy. However, I believe I read in DuPont Registry that there is the top mode in the 918 that throws fuel economy out the window. I would prefer the 918 over an Enzo or a Veyron. Ferraris are overrated, and the Veyron is so heavy, and has excess power that may never be used during its ownership.

WTF!!! I'm wondering why Porsche refuses to put into production beautiful cars in favor of keeping with "traditional design." I would be surprised if their profits didn't increase significantly by the release of this car. It has the potential to draw in new buyers that would normally pass on Porsche design; and the fact that it's a 708 hp monster in a hybrids clothing doesn't hurt either!

Techinally, if it's light enough, the 215hp can run the car at 60mph. (highway speed)

probably not because then the mpg would be infinity ;-) as it uses zero gallons of fuel. but you do have a point, I assume there is a certain configuration (x percent of miles pure combustion engine, y percent of miles purely electric and z percent of miles mixed) to come up with an average mpg value.
