  • Im using hypercam and i record for about 5mins, and it saves a 2gb file? this aint gona be very good if i wana record like 30 mins of gamplay? am i doing somthing wrong? :/

  • I use Microsoft Expression. 60 FPS w/ sound recording.

  • Also note that you should use a pair of headphones so as to not have the game audio interfere with the commentary track.

  • Only thing I would criticize is Gwolf doesn't explain how to shot web.

  • Can't I use FRAPS to record emulator screens? (it does work well with games after all)

  • @supremesonicbrazil Yes you can with certain windows. it's very picky though.

  • @supremesonicbrazil Yeah it works for some Emulators some others you might have to mess around with some settings on the Emulator to get it to work (I just got Fraps to record VBA by accident lol)

  • Sup Elliot!

  • I use to use audacity to record my voice, but it kept on crashing, so when I record now I turn down the game volume without using audacity so it doesn't interfere with my voice :P

  • @MrDarkmandude Well I just looked on the website and it said "Please note that Bandicam is not free software" It has a watermark, the way I show is for free and easy to use programs as well as giving you the option to audio adjust, it's probably a better way to do it then using fraps because you have more control. if you think you can do better make a video yourself :) i'd like to see how you do it.

  • @MegaGWolf GWolf if right to use Audacity because it gives you control of the individual elements of video and audio so you can mix and balance the sound a lot better. Otherwise, you run the risk of recording everything only to find that the game audio drowned out your commentary and there is little you can do to fix that. Also, if you have desyncing issues between audio and video, you can fix it a lot easier if the two elements are separate.

  • One thing I would say G, you ideally should cover DXtory at some point. Once I was introduced to it by a couple of guys, I realised it's a lot better at doing anything FRAPS can do (except recording the desktop)

  • I record emulators using their in-built recorders and PC games using FRAPS; the audio commentary is done using Audacity and editing via Windows Movie Maker.

  • @FlickyF FRAPS is extremely inefficient. It has a lossless codec, yes, but WHEN A FIVE MINUTE VIDEO IS A GIGABYTE LARGE it's taking the piss.

  • @DalekSam

I compress ALL my playthrough videos after recording using eRightSoft's "Super" program; it rather mandatory when using Fusion's in-built recorder, otherwise Movie Maker refuses to save the final video files.

  • @DalekSam Hardly inefficient, that's exactly what happens when you record uncompressed. Actually a gigabyte for five minutes? That's actually pretty good considering that on my machine, one minute of footage is nearly two gigs.

  • thanks gwolf for doing this man, gives me a better understanding of what i need to do :)

  • Odd you didn't mention Camtasia. Thats the 3 for one bundle you could say, captures mic, screen and is its own editer. Not free but... thats not a problem on the web.

  • thanks G this is really going to help me out when i am able to get my equipment and start lping

  • Thank you man.

  • im the 1st viewer and commonter so i have a roblox recorder to do my roblox videos so i dont need all this exept the concoles

  • @sonimario2000 or press F12

  • @erssmom25 thx man :D
