No, the burning of the "people" is not exactly! a symbolic interpretation of Hell.

They destroy their other selfs - Their old selfs; like how a snake sheds its skin, so they refresh or rebirth or resurrect their Self.

Same story as Jesus. Only in that Bible Story he was cruxified for real, and not burned.

Different scripts that depict the same Ageless spiritual necessity, if you follow the path of the Bodhisattva that is.
