The original music to this movie was written by Pizetti; the score is still around -- when Cabiria was shown in Turin a decade ago it was played by a full symphony orchestra.
the music is an obvious attempt to soften the obviously negative portrayls of people of in carthage at the time. just messes up the films pacing and development.
@assassinofdoom12345 If the truthers are right, well they did it with 911? before you say I'm crazy and believe anything, no I just look at the facts and history and come up with my own conclusions, if it's been done before then it can be done again. people are evil in this world, don't let modern day thinking and technology make you think otherwise.
the invocation to Moloch is without music here, you can listen to the Pizzetti's opera on youtube (in another page!), I did so! (sorry for my English)
Soundtrack is awful with this. It would fit the football game in the Marx Bros movie "Horsefeathers".
I muted the sound on this, then opened a new tab running YouTube's watch?v=LsZEv7kAllo. It's a live version of Verdi's Requiem. Then I went back to this tab with the music playing in the background. Much better.
Sicuramente il primo Kolossal della Storia tant'é che fu d'ispirazione per Griffith.
La genialità italica é andata persa con la fine della seconda guerra mondiale .... a quanto pare ... se si fa un paragone col le produzioni attuali :(
I would really like to know what soundtrack this is. Obviously it can't be the "original" one, since an orchestra used to perform the soundtrack, isn't it?
Is this film available on DVD and if yes where. I can honestly say that it is an incredible film. OK so I have only seen part one but there are scenes here which would never be made now. OK for good reason, for some reason people don't like see children killed in pits of fire and I can understand why but I would still like to see the entire film.

This music is truly annoying. It takes away of the brillance of this film.

I asked because it was obvious that the soundtrack didn't quite match the plot. but it's good to know where the soundtrack really comes from

and yet something else: perhaps you meant The Spoilers - from 1914??
tobiigormaxibarsi 4 years ago
I don't know exactely, but the music was written by Mario Mazza e Pizzetti intentionally for this movie, maybe you can find something!
