Second, I am only pointing out the fact that (a) resistance to being loved withholds the experience, and (b) since basis of relationship with God is love, God answers not to scientific methods of discovery. He is not an object of scientific inquiry but a Person of compassion in sympathy with man's troubling state of affairs.

@lilchris10kid I'm a Christian so my response will be based on the Bible. In John 14:23, it is recorded that Jesus said he will live in those who love him. What this means in metaphysical terms is unknown to me. However, there is a bond, shall we say, between God and the believer in Jesus that can be described as his living in their hearts, especially since it is a bond based on mutual love. When I pray, it is not to myself but to the Living Presence of God in Christ in my life.

@lilchris10kid Adam was informed that he would die if he disobeyed (and, most likely, God explained what death was although the Bible doesn't have a record of it). So Adam knew (a) all he could do; (b) what he could not do, and (c) the consequences that would follow obedience and disobedience. He was certainly not in the dark. You'll find that in the first three chapters of Genesis.

As "good", Adam and Eve were created innocent, that is, having no experience of moral evil. That they were created with free-will does not mean they were neither "perfect" nor "good".

@lilchris10kid In Hebrew, the term "hate" means to "love less", see Matthew 10:37-39.. In any case, I had an experience when I came across this verse before I became a believer in Jesus. I asked God, "How can I love You more than my parents? They birth me and took care of me all my life. What did You do for me." When I "told" that to God, He then "answered saying", "Well, if you love me first, then I will be able to pour out my love for your parents into you and you will begin to love them with my love." However, God does "speak" to us today to those who listen. However, the point being stressed is not my experience but that I've come to understand the verse regarding parents in a way that has made a positive and permanent change in my life, a change that moved me to truly love my parents.

@lilchris10kid Well, without getting into an exhaustive reply, just allow me to explain it briefly: (1) if Adam and Eve had not sinned and had not mankind continued in their Adam's sin of disobedience to God, there would be no disease because nature would not have been corrupted as a consequence of man's sin. Sin affects the universe; and (2) disease does not occur in a vacuum. Things like wars (as well as famines) and improper sexual relations cause disease.

The Bible does not teach that sin has no consequences, even if they "repent"; to continue in sin shows one is not genuinely repentant and 1 John says that only the person who habitually does what is right is a true Christian. Jesus' death makes it just and possible for God to forgive sin and send the Spirit to dwell in believers for power obey God.

What this means in metaphysical terms is unknown to me. However, there is a bond, shall we say, between God and the believer in Jesus that can be described as his living in their hearts, especially since it is a bond based on mutual love. Do you want to live forever in a world where nothing has changed? According to the Bible, God gave Adam only one prohibition...just one (he didn't need all the laws we have now)...and God made him aware of the consequences. Satan tricked Adam and Eve, not God.

When a policeman says, don't steal or you'll go to jail, do you know what that is...what it really is? @lilchris10kid Adam was informed that he would die if he disobeyed (and, most likely, God explained what death was although the Bible doesn't have a record of it). So Adam knew (a) all he could do; (b) what he could not do, and (c) the consequences that would follow obedience and disobedience. He was certainly not in the dark. You'll find that in the first three chapters of Genesis.

As "good", Adam and Eve were created innocent, that is, having no experience of moral evil. As "perfect", they were created in such a way as to be in all points well-fitted to accomplish God's known will on the earth. That they were created with free-will does not mean they were neither "perfect" nor "good".

But as u see in Luke 14:26-27, he not only don't want u to love ppl around u more then him, he don't want you to love them at all. So Jesus isn't Love, he's just obsessed with it.

@lilchris10kid In Hebrew, the term "hate" means to "love less", see Matthew 10:37-39.. In any case, I had an experience when I came across this verse before I became a believer in Jesus. I asked God, "How can I love You more than my parents? They birth me and took care of me all my life. What did You do for me." Then the Lord "spoke" to me and said, "Look back , think and tell me how much you love your parents and how you show them your love?" (Continued in next comment)...

@nbanuchu Well, I had to admit, I acted selfishly and even mean towards my parents. When I "told" that to God, He then "answered saying", "Well, if you love me first, then I will be able to pour out my love for your parents into you and you will begin to love them with my love." It made sense to me and since I wasn't at all good at showing my parents love, I figured, why not? I'm sure God could to a much better job than me at loving my parents. (Continued in next comment)

@nbanuchu I, from my position, never could have loved Jesus or God more then my family even when my mom even told me too. I used to be a Christian but just recently converted but always was a little skeptical of the bible. Thos things I was skeptical of kept building up to the point that I didn't believe one thing in the bible. But yeah I just never cud have loved God more than my mom bcus quite frankly the only person I saw doing things and helping me was my mom. So yea just a little bio on me

However, God does "speak" to us today to those who listen. However, the point being stressed is not my experience but that I've come to understand the verse regarding parents in a way that has made a positive and permanent change in my life, a change that moved me to truly love my parents.

It is people who are doing the killing, causing famines, disease, raping, etc. You need to ask people what's up with that. God cannot just "fix it" unless you would agree He annihilate mankind. Besides, God did do something to fix it (without annihilation) but men are rejecting His way of fixing it. My question: Why blame God for the evil that we do? How is it His fault?

@lilchris10kid Well, without getting into an exhaustive reply, just allow me to explain it briefly: (1) if Adam and Eve had not sinned and had not mankind continued in their Adam's sin of disobedience to God, there would be no disease because nature would not have been corrupted as a consequence of man's sin. Sin affects the universe; and (2) disease does not occur in a vacuum. Things like wars (as well as famines) and improper sexual relations cause disease.

The Bible does not teach that sin has no consequences, even if they "repent"; to continue in sin shows one is not genuinely repentant and 1 John says that only the person who habitually does what is right is a true Christian. Jesus' death makes it just and possible for God to forgive sin and send the Spirit to dwell in believers for power obey God.

The God with whom I refer is the God who made the ultimate show of Himself in the Man Jesus Christ as recorded in both the Hebrew Scriptures and the New Testament, that is, the Bible.

@FlyinSpaghettiMnstr7 some basic holes in evolution are, the big bang theory, energy never diminishes or increases, it only changes forms. so in other words all of this energy had to come from somewhere. also we see evolution in the environment in species, but we have never found evidence of changes from one species to a new one, for example we can breed dogs into different kinds of dogs but we have never been able to breed a new animal. it's Sir Isaac Newton's Universal Law of Gravitation.

@tigerbarr dude ur loss. The reason why we don't see new species being born daily because evolution Is a slow process. Pick up a science book for Geezsake. Tthere is more evidence supporting evolution then any other theories or laws. Gravity is a theory because even though it's demostrable, we don't know how it work. We have a good idea aka theories. Also a species develops a mutation that help it survive longer then it's brothers and spreads that mutation by breeding.
