  • good call on the center block:)

  • No offense but you tank is shit. Not the set up so much but the gallon choice. Every reptile keeper knows that width is just as important as length. A 55 gallon id 4 feet long but only 13 inches wide. Try a 75 gallon. Still only 4 feet long but about 2 feet wide.

  • @1992pattrow he's now in a 6'x3'x2' custom cage now

  • @packraptor1

Nice. I am putting a baby sav in a 125 gallon soon. He wont be there for long till I have to upgrade. I will eventually make him a 6x4x2.

  • @1992pattrow BTW a 75 gallon 4x18x24is only 18" wide. a 4x2x2 is 120 gallons. I do not own any Varanus however these cages would be far from Ideal for these animals

  • @1992pattrow

Not when it is fully grown. A 120 gallon would be great for a sub adult though.

  • gay music for the ending and the video sucked

  • how do you disinfect stick and logs

  • where did you get the tank

  • "After months of research" No offense but no way you had months of research.

How warm is his basking spot? How deep is that soil? =/

As you said, he likes to burrow ... at least give him a chance and a monitor that size could really use some humid 1 feet deep soil.

Trying to help you out here, not trashtalking.

  • @nogatsira

If you check out my newer videos, you can see that he now has a 6 ft x 3 ft x 2 ft enclosure with roughly 1 ft deep soil, a 110 degree basking spot, and plenty of humidity, since I keep my room at a certain humidity for him and my iguana.

  • checked it out now, sorry bout my comment, ur taking good care of him:)

  • @packraptor1 i know its a year late but 100 degrees is way to cool, by now your monitor will be near full grown and should have 140-150 degree basking spot :)

  • @JackoToonLad He's got the right temps now :P

  • That's a nice Setup, welldone. :D

  • not cheap but smart :]

  • looks dead try playing with him more

  • thanks

  • how much that cage cost

  • This particular tank he's using in this vid was $50 on sale at Petsmart.

  • Pretty kool setup......I'm building a custom cage for mine....he's outgrowing his tank.....but hey keep it up

  • Nice savvy. Love the music at the ened, it's like "Haa attack the little hoppy things."

  • Thanks :)

  • where did u get him from

  • Reptile expo.

  • Wat size tank have u got mate?

  • 55 gallon here. He's getting an upgrade to a custom enclosure in a few weeks.

  • ya cinder blocks work the best look at my vids of wester fence swifts and they have thos squar blocks in the tank but im gona put cinder block in thair soon

  • nice tank bro... cinderblock is a great idea

  • godzilla in the background! ahhah awesome

  • boiled eggs bro, they love em, thats all mine will eat. and great name, i named mine cretos, after the god of war

  • where did you get the tank ....? i want one and cant find a big tank to buy for it.... =(

  • I got the tank from Petsmart. It's usually about $100 around my house, but I was lucky and got one for $50 since it had been returned or something.

  • that all

  • it looks kl but the dvds lookgay

  • luv it!

  • not bad, you dont need a solid top. it is better but not needed. he will hit a growth spurt soon. when you feed him crickets like that only put in a few at a time. with some lizards it can over stress them. but otherwise not bad. he will get big, and make sure you handle him with care and atleast once a day.

  • my tank stays around 90-95 during the day and as low as 60 at night. i also use screen lids with latches on the side and only half my tank is sand the other is green turf. i feed him 3 mice and 75 large crickets every other day and he is happy and healthy.

  • thats a nice tank =]

  • nice set up man im sure what u got is gd enough to start off with. research is basic u dont have to kno there moms and dads history just enough to take gd care of it

  • By the looks of your set up you did about a week of research. You need a solid top and dirt substrate along with a 130 degree basking spot that im sure you dont have

  • i just got a water dragon lizard rock!!!

  • cool lizard i still say u shulda named him fluffy

  • He is so cute and cool! He even has a skull in there!

  • That's awesome! I've always wanted a monitor lizard like that!

  • well done

  • that croc gustave is probably the one that inspired Primeval the movie

  • Yup. The croc in the movie is supposed to be Gustave.

  • Matt is that you

  • Great setup. Love the name. He is cute. Look forward to seeing more of him. 5 *.

  • Thanks. Compliments like that coming from someone who takes such good care of their sav gives me lots of confidence. :D

  • its food maybe like "run it godzilla!" XD

  • I had to change his feeding enclosure because the crickets kept running away and jumping out of his first one. lol

  • whered you get that skull at 0:12.

  • Very nice setup and beautiful savannah 5 stars

  • Thanks for the comment. I love your Zeus and Hades. It feels so good to hear such a compliment coming from a savannah expert like you.

  • I've got that skull in my fish tank.
