When Cotto moved up it was Cotto's own people who said he was not ready for Floyd. Even the boxing writers at the time scoffed at the idea when a possible fight was suggested.

Baldomir was the recognized welterweight champion at the time and nobody outside the west coast really gave two craps about Margarito. Anyway, it did not make financial sense for Floyd to fight Margarito he made 5 times more fighting ODLH and Hatton.
It is Arum who is keeping Pac away from Floyd. Clottey, Margarito...seriously?

You say Floyd does not seek challenges yet he fought Shane Mosley, the same guy who went to pac's gym twice in 2009 and was turned down.

When was the last time PAc has fought someone who was unbeaten in 3 fights?
Because countries like Mexico and Argentina etc lack a real amateur structure, many young fighters are thrown to the wolves early and suffer losses before they mature and develop.
It is rare that you see them without at least 3 or 4 losses in their first 10-15 fights.

AT least Baldomir beat a champion, Cotto beat Jennings for a vacant title.

@Obamaownswhitesnow Arum offered Floyd a 3 fight deal at $8 mil per fight. The first was to be Margarito. Floyd said he would fight Margarito but he wanted Osacr afterwards. Arum said it would not happen as he does not want to deal with GB.
Instead, Floyd left Arum and fought Baldomir for $8 mil and a title, he then fought Oscar and Hatton for $50 mil combined.
That is $58 mil of which GB took 3% as opposed to the $24 mil minus 28% that Arum offered.

@DrTruth007 IMO marquez vs khan i always saw as a great fight; however, i think that marquez is getting too old.. he may not be able to react as quickly as the younger amir khan. nevertheless, marquez is THE greatest counter puncher, as can be seen in his fights with baby bull diaz, but I wouldn't want to see marquez losing to khan because of his age. (kind of like mosley lost to mayweather because he was getting old and ate punches all fight long)

amir khan can beat floyd and manny....the talent is there if you cant see it your a hater or biased sad thing is neither floyd or manny would ever face him floyd and manny have one thing in common they only fight guys they know they can beat they avoid a real risk he is the real deal time will tell his story mark my words he will make the maidana fight seem easier than you all think

he could beat manny, floyd is too accurate and would figure him out and hit him flush too many times. I have to agree, if he keeps sparring with big guys, hopefully he can build some punch resistance to the punches he doesnt see. He is great too watch. khan is padding his career too, its impossible with roach as your trainer to not get matched up too evenly. maidana got exposed by basic boxing skill last fight, easy win if khan protects his chin. roach saw things, typical roach.

to beat floyd mayweather you need a quick jab. amir has one. not to say he can beat floyd, but i believe it would be competitive. floyd wont face anyone who has a chance taking his 0. he prefers big money to legacy
