@fatalfury28 better graphics , better textures (specially mountains textures in stage 4), antialiasing (4x) , a lot more resolutions x1600, skippable cutcenes, two ships for play, and 3D OPTION !!!
@pepomega u mean ex-tio and ex-tio(OD)? but how bout the other one with the circle thingy (not the barrier,i mean the one that has your two little gun things circling around you) the one on the official ether vapor RE trailer? is it there?
@WigglyMalmsteam hahaha, I feel flattered! I'm glad you found about this game, the PC often goes ignored but it has so many awesome hidden gems! Make sure to google "Tokyo Shmups", the site is run by a fellow shmupper who currently lives in Japan. He sells a plethora of awesome STGs! (bear in mind it's all retail so they are a bit costly but these games offer far more than many blockbusters, clearing Ether Vapor in 1 credit with standard settings is a huge challenge!)
@GloriousLight I already checked out that site due to these comments :) I've been on the hunt recently for PC shmups since playing this. Until now I only played console shmups and wasn't aware the PC had many offerings besides bullet hell games, which are not my thing. I like the balance of console shmups as I'm not a master of pixels by any means. This went straight to number one for me, bringing Einhander & Super Aleste down a rank. My mind is blown by Ether Vapor's scale and cinematics.
I played with the avatars and dialogue off btw. I felt like they detracted from the game. I'm not averse to story in a shmup though. I think Einhander executed it in a classy way.
I just wonder, When you select "Start Game" it gives you 2 options, one say normal and the other says remake but what does it mean. Does it have any effect on the gameplay or something?
@matteste The effect is kind of minimal. The Original version is the game with cutscenes (which you can skip), the "Remaster" is the same but instead of story it just seamlessly progresses across the game without any filler, just a 2-4 seconds "flashy" intro for bosses and characters.
@Ebb1993isgreat Yep, the new mode available skips all the story for flashy ships facing at each other and getting ready to throw heavy ordnances. Well, you could already skip the story bits in the original by pressing a button but I guess this is just even better.
@brigcam The guy from Tokyo Shmups will probably carry this game but he'll be back in late August. Check the shmups forum or google "Tokyo Shmups" for his site. The game might also end up for sale at White Canvas, a doujin store that does international shippings. It's not there as of yet.
You should also look at eXceed 2nd and 3rd. They're very good, too. Am very interested in the stories, too.

I cant think of a better doujin STG thats so perfect for localisation. Western gamers love their Panzer Dragoon and Treasure shooters
