  • You Have AT&T

  • @wwallender

    Had*

I no longer use this phone or this service.

    Was this in dispute?

  • really like your project.....I am a postgraduate and thinking about making a landline phone connect to the computer ,not for making calls ,but for displaying pictures...do u have any experience for that?

  • @Truking0413 I'm not clear on what you're asking. I could kind-of understand slaving a cell phone to display pictures, in which case, you'd need to know the language the phone's programming is in. I don't understand how you'd use a landline to display anything but text.

  • men youre smart

  • If you don't feel like making it or may not have the mechanical aptitude to do it you can google "retro phone handset" for one of these.

  • @lukebccb This was the alternative to buying one. They're overpriced.

  • Ok i got a question for any person who uses phones and knows the inners and outters of them, I want to use a magic Jack on my laptop for mobile calls, am almost never away from my laptop and since i can not currently afford a cell plan, using a Hack to somehow create a landline in which i can Hook my cell phone to it would be sweet, Also the laptop am using has bluetooth any ideas on if its possible to somehow use that eliminating the Cord all together for the same goal? plz get back to me thx

  • Do you know how to use the electricity from a land line wall jack to charge a cell phone?

  • @Jdlifsey

Depending on your phone's specific charger, I can't be too specific. To get the raw power, watch?v=WoaLGvJkoP8 Just don't connect it to the flashlight.

  • why would you want to use the handset of a corded phone when the handsfree is lighter and more convinient to use?

  • Funzies.

It's a novelty, I didn't mean for this to be something employed instead of a hands free device. I just meant this to be one of those odd things you can show friends for a laugh. A joke piece. I say this in a magazine years ago selling for I think $30 something. So I made it :D

  • he sounds like a computer

  • lol, I know, sorry about that, I was messing with different techniques for making the video. This one I carefully recorded everything, & jotted notes to myself what every scene was demonstrating, put a script together for myself, recorded it, and voiced over the cut&muted clips. I'm talking a bit more freely now, this was an effort to eliminate pauses, slurs, and excessive "ummmm"s & "like"s.

I like to think my videos have improved since this, haha

  • @silntdoogood thats great i practice to

but who cares how you sound i just letting you know thats what you sound like

  • personally, I care. I like to better myself when possible.

  • @silntdoogood well you did a great job at it

  • lol thx

  • oh cool idea

  • so smart

  • what's the sound of a UFO??????? :P

  • the like twilight zoney noise, which in this video is produced by the feed back from the phones

  • I'M LOST, YOU GEEKS GOT ME BEAT. FOR NOW

  • Damn you phone number censor bar!!!!!!!!!!!

Now how will I prank call this phone!!!!!!!

Cool though, man......This seems like a first step in my plan to make a giant old fashioned looking cell phone!!!!

Still dont know how Im going to dial......without the cells little screen...maybe if it is just set to dial by voice or something.......hmmm

  • haha, yes, well all hate censor bars, from phone numbers to frontal nudity

I've been researching a good deal on cell phones, and you may run into trouble depending on how you go about this. cellphones no longer dial thru conventional means. a land line you can dile an operator by hanging up 5 times fast, or place a phone call by playing the proper series of tones, but since the digital conversion of cellphones circa 2000, when you call with a cellphone, it stores the digits you entered...

  • (PT2) until you hit call or send or what ever, and it sends out a signal, similar to a text message to the tower how/where to place a call. you can not get a diletone on a new cellphone, and analog cellphones are no longer supported. I could go into much more detail, but I don't want to bleed into a third reply. PM me for more info. The only reason cell phones play tones when you call is mainly for familiarity, and partly for voice mails inboxes, but that would be easily convertible to untone.

  • Yeah....it seems my project may be a bit too technical for me to handle....Originaly I saw an add about how to boost your regular cordless home landline phone to give it a 20 some mile radius! I was planning to do this. That way I would just go through my regular land line(actually I am using a magic jack, but U get the Idea) and I could go just about anywhere in the city with my huge cordless! Well this was my original plan...If I Could pull off the other one it would be that much cooler though
