Is it possible to add my own fields to these screens? I need to have a special identifier on the batch that shows up in my reports.

Yes. SAP Business One has a feature called User Defined Fields. They allow you to add a field onto a form in the system, setup the field type and values, and more. This field then becomes part of your system, without any costly customization.
