The problem you have in the UK reminds me of the problem in the US...only here they do not focus as much on adoption of the children but more on making money by housing them in state run foster and group homes. We also have a problem with judges who preside over the cases of these parents also sitting on boards of adoption agencies and groups. Parents here are not allowed access to the records here either.

Social workers are often stupid, and prejudiced. Did you ever hear about the Rochdale witchcraft incident. Talk about stupid. Those social workers were fully convinced a family were practicing witchcraft.

These are mild learning difficulties, not "severe".

They are capable and their husbands have high IQ's so there is no risk. The first question is where are fathers rigths in these cases?

It's a red herring to use IQ, where it's "mild" learning.

That's tantamount to saying that high IQ = more loving, which plainly isn't true.

Most Iq parents hire nannies and pursue their careers, in which case, you could argue that all those *busy* mothers who work should lose their children.

The SS now try to get children for adoption from professional parents as the demand from Adopters is for clever, intelligent children.

I was lucky being a psychologist and understood the mental torture tactics being tried on me and my children, but for the ordinary service user- this may not be the case.

Social workers have very little education too.

I have a case where the child was stolen without a care order.

The ICO was refused by the high court, but SS ignored this and stole the baby,

Case is in Strasbourg now.

Did the judge ask for copies of assessments and whether or not adequate support (which would have supported the mother) in accordance with those assessments had been adopted? I think had he had asked this he would have seen a myriad of excuses about lack of resources etc. etc. - many assessments are made and recommendations of support but they never materialise. On paper the assessments look good but in reality they dont exist. Do orgs. like SANE, MENCAP, National Autistic Soc know about this?

The MP, Eric Pickles battled long and hard to help these parents. As the children WERE well cared for.

It's not like a criminal trial. It's a SECRET court. Parents are gagged or jailed for TWO YEARS if they speak out.

Essex council were paid £2.5million/$5 million for adoption.

Low IQ, Dyslexia, eating disorders are all used. If you had an eating disorder as a child, don't have children.

My advice, is to GET OUT of ESSEX if you live there if you have any kind of medical history.

I have a friend of mine whose autistic children were recently taken from her, she suffered years of abuse at the hands of her husband. Yet whilst she was with her husband they did nothing once she had left him and he was convicted of assault rape and attempted murder SS then stepped and took her kids. It took a lot of courage for her to leave him. The ironic thing is SS supported his family having access to the children she refused... She is not in Essex she is in North London.

I dont think this is unique to Essex its countrywide. My friend is afraid to talk as she has been gagged. She was a good mum she loved her kids - she didnt drink or smoke she was devoted. ironically she herself grew up in a care home. Surely by declaring her unfit to mother they are admitting the system failed her!

Unless the child is having problems with the parenting skills of the person.. the IQ should not matter... If the Low IQ interferes wtih the childs safety, education etc.. then it can be concern...but low IQ alone is not a criteria. Some people with low IQs make better parents than average and high IQ.

These children were well cared for.

That's why the MP tried to save them.

The dad had a normal IQ too. But because one parent had a low IQ, they were adopted.

They considered the mother incapable of loving her children due to her low IQ.

I couldnt agree more with this...i cannot speak for all learning difficulties as my experience is mainly with Aspergers and co-morbidities associated with....

There is a misconception through ignorance that if you have aspergers you have a low IQ, this is not the case.The complexities within this autistic spectrum disorder can, to the untrained eye,be percieved as abuse.

The government were challenged to clarify and insist ss training....what can i say final hearing in 4 weeks...

Well done to the MP in this case and to the chief executive of the council in making these 'professionals' be put under the spotlight, I can only hope it was an inquisition, and everything they said was not believed, twisted and challenged in the same way they do this to families they unlawfully target.
