  • There are clones of what are basically this system all over. Different models, different brands, some differences in the displays but the components are fundamentally identical. My neighbor bought one for his teenage son called the WH-1080 for around $100. Do a search at Amazon for Dr. Tech WH1080, select it, then scroll down where it says customers also viewed and you'll see many stations available in this price range. It's good to have the reviews to help guide you.

  • so what happens if it hails???

I want to get one of these but I'm scared hail would just destroy it...

  • Can you see what the weather will be on it?

  • Much that is cost?

  • i cant believe you got rain under a tree!!!

  • Hello

I live in a building consisting of 3 floors ... Are the walls and upper floors will affect the wireless transmission? There will be two floors between the Receiver and the outdoor sensors ?

    Really Thank You

  • The windspeed/direction, outdoor temp, outdoor humidity & rain gauge only show 3 bars and I can only set the max/min alarm settings for each measurment but not the "actual" measurment

Nor can I set the actual measurment for the indoor temp or humidity

    Any ideas

  • All good, re-inserted the batteries to the base station to reset unit and seems to be working fine

  • I second what @biodot88 said. Where did you find this for less than $100? Amazon, Ebay, even Ambient Weather itself has been sold out of this unit for a while. I've been hoping to get one for Christmas.

  • Should be mounted in the open, not under tree????

  • @shiver2505 That tree is now gone! Three large branches had hit my house.

  • Very nice demo....Help me decide between this station or spending an extra $100.00 on the Davis Vantage Vue..Don't worry about the arm scratch..If you had picked your nose it might have been different, but something we have all done from time to time..Thanks for the well done video

  • Where did you find for sub $100???

  • Very nice demonstration and great weather station.

  • Can I link this station to my PC via wireless? And fit a camera to it for real time imagering?

  • @paladinodasensatez The weather station connects wirelessly to the Display Console.

The Display Console connects to your PC with just a plain old USB cord.

I am not such how you could make that wireless, but I guess it is possible.

You could mount a camera on the weather station.

  • I want to ask you about Solar Radiation Shield ... it's came in the box ? or we buy it Separately ?

    Thank you again

  • @thedark1979 The Solar Radiation Shield you see in the video came with the weather station. They suggest you upgrade to a bigger better one. I am just using the one that came with it. It does read a little warmer than the outside temperature if it's in the sun.

  • hey what pc program do you use with this unit ?

  • @CarAudioGuy21 I am just using EasyWeather.

  • Great video sir... Thanks for taking the time to make this video... I had to sub to you... If you scratch your arm or mis speak its fine. Anyone thats makes videos on here will understand. I am going to be getting a unit like this soon and I am greatful for all the helpful info you put into this video... Thanks again. Its like I always say... Lets all learn from each other. • I just got this weather station today and got it assembled. I collect weather equipment and have an AWS WX Net system. But in fact still rely on my Texas Electronics analog instruments. Thought this would be a neat instrument to try.I don't like the idea of the 48 second delay mainly for the wind readings. The AWS system updates each second and the analogs are real time. The TE and AWS stuff was 6 grand commercial stuff though. For enthusiast this is a decent little home station.

  • Excellent Upload. Thank You ! Ordered mine from amazone waiting for it to be shipped.

  • Excellent videoand review. Just got myself a WH1090 Next Generation Wireless Weather Station. Which I have just set up.

  • Why would you mount your unit to the side of a tree? The tree interferes with wind direction and speed. Your unit needs to be mounted on a pole away from all obstructions from at lease 20 feet away to get good readings.

Maybe you are just testing the unit, hope you found a better place to place it later.

  • I read that this is the streaming radio station. But, as I see it - the video - the cable mode is possible? Telephone cable, it comes to linking them?

  • It looks like there is a lot of extra phone cord that you have bundled up there. How long is the wire that runs from the main unit up to the wind sensors?

I'd think it would be a good idea to put the wind sensors about 20ft+ high, and then have the rain gauge and main temp/humidity unit about 4 to 5 ft above ground for easy access to them.

  • Thanks for the video... it helped me finalize my decision to purchase this unit. One commenter recommends a Davis unit. I researched stations and indeed, Davis makes nice stuff, but for some, the extra $250-350+ makes this well-reviewed unit a good buy.

  • could you tell me the linking up procedure for the transmitter and the receiver because i recently bought this weather station and when following the instruction booklet i couldn't get them to sync with one and other. thanks

in the instruction booklet that came with the weather station it said to first put the batteries into the transmitter and then wait for the led to light up after this then put the batteries into the receiver and wait for them to pair but this doesn't seem to work for me.

  • would it support strong winds??on the way it is stalled...? it seem to be very weak..

  • thank you ,

but I want to ask you about the battery and software ...

how many days or month the battery life (indoor unit & outdoor unit ) ?

and does the PC Software come free with the wither station ? or buy Separately ?

    Thanks

  • @thedark1979

Yes, software comes with the unit for free.

As Colin pointed out the unit transmits every 48 seconds, not every couple of seconds as some weather units do.

The outdoor unit is supposed to send signals for 2 years with lithium batteries.

I would guess the indoor receiver would last as long.

  • not a bad station...but if you want a GREAT station, go with DAVIS. This one this guys reviewing updates ( data ) every 48 seconds ? believe me, when your sitting there watching the screen, that seems like FOREVER ! The Davis stations update every 2.5 seconds ! and have a much longer range. And, unlike this one, no cords and wires to mess with. Of course, price comes into play... this one was probably around $ 100.00. The Davis Vantage Vue you can pick up for about $ 300.00. Well worth it !!

  • I love your weather station. One suggestion, you might want to put the outdoor sensors on a higher pole in that clearing away from trees for best accuracy. You might look at 20 Ft or so. But that may be a good future project. But again you have an awesome weather station.
