  • Would you do the same for chocolate milk? You just don't add vanilla and sugar right?

  • last time i did ice cream like this was in 2nd grade lol:))

  • i love your vidoes because im having ice cream with my dad tonight and i needed to know because i forgot to get the instructions from my science teacher

  • ahah i just paused when she showed the paper with the ingrediants !

  • @cookiemonster9528 thats what i did to

  • i dont care bout how to make it I JUST WANT SOME ICCREAM! (FREE ICECREAM!:)

  • @luv2luvl you van use salt as in table salt you just use salt because it's helps the ice last longer and not melt while shaking.

  • vanilla what? vanilla essence?

  • this lady scares me 0.o

  • see you triple the ingredeants and put it in the freeser cuz im not shaking for 5 mins

  • Thanks for posting this... But do I "need" rock salt or can i use regular salt?

  • Could you use any milk or it had to be whole milk

  • can normal salt do the trick?

  • Shake shake shake, and then it'll start to get harder and harder.

  • Wow wee, this lady is a teaching machine. She is teaching kids measuring and physics at the same time. The salt melts the solid ice to a liquid pulling the heat out of the cream mix and your hands if you hold it to long. I bet you have the smartest kids on the block.

  • @TheBearxclan she wants your SOUUUUUL!!!

  • It tastes really good! Just don't use too much vanilla

  • Does it have to be Whole Milk? Or does it not matter?

  • wat does the salt do??

  • @sumiatisuparno

The salt causes the ice to melt while keeping the temperature, pretty much "Super Cooling" the water so that when the milk, sugar, and vanilla cool without freezing.

  • Rocksalt is just salt that's in clumps. so reg. salt is good

  • Your mouth is scary.

  • Mic Jagger called... he wants his mouth back

  • i'm teaching kids english in korea and we are doing this today to practice following directions ! I hope this works!

  • ...don't lie. Like me, you're an adult with no child and you loved this video and made yourself some ice cream.

  • thumps up if you did this it works awsome

  • Can you just freeze this instead of using ice? I have no ice maker.

  • haha

  • Yeah alright the beginning is good, but how about you finish the video with the result, and show us what happens next !!!

  • THIS IS SO GOOD~!~!~!~~!THANK YOU

  • I made it today, and it tasted DELICIOUS!

    Thanks fr the video!

  • U dnt have to use rock salt, u can use regular salt

  • frist you said one and a half then you said half witch one is it?

  • it also works with Half and half

  • Uh can i just use cream instead of whole milk cos i only have nonfat milk... also can i just stick it in the freezer cos i dont really feel like shaking it. :) laziness

  • @MileyDOMOKUNpugs i put it in the freezer then 5 hours latter i threw it on the ground and it was ice cream

  • @MileyDOMOKUNpugs if you want to use cream got to the howcast video and they will show you

  • Great video!

  • Psshhhh!!!! this wasnt an activity for my family. i just wanted icecream!

  • Are you by any chance a science teacher, because from looking at you video's... I am getting that vibe. Haha(:

  • why didnt my mommy do stuff like this with me...

  • I like your measuring spoon.

  • it was AWESOME!! i made it!!!

  • @rockstarz607 the salt makes the ice colder by a chemical reaction

  • Haha i love how you talk :D

  • I wonder if it tastes good.

  • i have a feeling you're a teacher. i think because of your handwriting.

  • Sea salt works with this too! It's soo good :) I love homemade ice cream!

  • i love the way she talks <3

  • awesome

  • can u use no vanilla

  • @mick01234567891 You Can Use Any Favlor But If You Use No Flavoring Then It Wont Have Any Taste

  • Aww, I did this in elementary school :>

  • omfg it actually worked like but i used sea salt and it work and i told my mom about the ice cream and i let her try some and she was like :O i want you to make some more but ill go get you more ice and ice cream salt and a ice cream shaker because ive been craving for some homemade icecream lol

  • Can i ues other thing without vanila.

  • Her table spoon. Spoon was in the shape of a hart is that nessisary?

  • wow and i thought making ice cream was a lot harder thanks a lot!

  • haha who said i even had kids i just want some icecream and its delicious! lol

  • How much is 2 quarts?

  • So, could you use regular salt, or any salt?

  • @RMR1234567 ya you can table salt is okay but not the best

  • i used sea salt n it still worked n it tasted good

  • ok so u can use any kind of salt and if u want ur ice cream better, u should shake for ten minutes. oh and u could use chocolate powder for chocolate ice cream too, not just vanilla. I tried it and it was awesome!

  • doesit have to be rock salt

  • idc about the reaction or how to teach my kids to measure i just want ice cream lol

  • I remember doing this in fourth grade. Pretty neat.

  • IF you wanna make more, cant you just double the ingredients? Or would it mess it up? For example, instead of 1/2, use 1 cup, instead of 1 TBS, 2 TBS....etc. Just if you wanted a bigger snack!

  • you seem like the girl version of that bodybuilding scooby guy on youtube... like EXACT twin... hmm...

  • Would it not just be better to take your child to a ice cream shop so they can get a ice cream cone and cheaper?

  • how come at the end of your "shake shake shake shake shake shake" part you sit there and smile for 2 seconds......

  • if u wanna make chocolate ice cream instead of vanilla, how much coco powder do u use?

  • @undecidedtheband one teaspoon

  • Great video! This is the kind of stuff they should teach in school instead of most of that useless stuff we are forced to learn. I could care less who the Incas fought as long as I have ice cream.

  • @kuei1248 That's because the education systems are filled with "teachers" that couldn't actually do anything else. They love to dictate what bullshit kids learn because it makes them feel important, instead of the losers they have always been.

  • @kuei1248 lmao they do teach this in my skool, in my highskoll in foods class they teach this :)

  • take that green thing out of the middle and i read it

  • yes u could use regular salt

  • can we use regular salt please tell me

  • i remember making this at like 8 years old in a summer day camp... we rolled a can around in a circle, and i wanted to recreate this with my nephew =] ty for the video

  • I Made it at home and it was watery but good and when i was done eating i tasted vanilla extract in my mouth.

  • My science teacher made this and we all got a scoop. Its actulley pretty good but its kinda like a slushie...

  • I'm going to try this :D thanks!

  • can i use more milk?\

  • Actually, on the rock salt issue -- I think that salt will work also, but NOT AS WELL as rock salt will. I recommend you just stick with using rock salt, but if you don't have it, salt will work too. But like I said, probably not as well. It's just a substitute for the rock salt, really.

Kind of like substituting chocolate for something like cocoa mix. It's not going to happen. Don't even bother trying. :P

  • i have the same type of measuring cup

  • you can use any salt its OK if u don't have rock salt

  • i did this at school!

  • We did this is 2nd grade! It was so yummy and fun. I think my teacher saw ur video cuz she tought us how to. THANKS

  • i made this at a camp i had to go to...

  • can you use regular salt instead of rock salt?

  • yea.....we did that in class cuz we ran out of rosk salt....

  • thats what makes the icecream thick

  • yah regular salt works too. I used rugular salt and it works good. =)

  • no!

i used regular salt and it still worked

  • I guess to make chocolate ice cream, replace the milk with full cream chocolate milk, or melt chocolate and mix it well with the milk. Dont put in vanilla and chocolate ice cream should be possible

  • lol we made this at school like this

  • I thought you said you have to take it outside to shake it. You did not do this. How come?

  • thats when you take it out the little bag is wet

  • can you use chocolate instead of vanilla?

  • yumi!

  • i like to eat it but no time to make it ...( i like chocolate only )

  • Twitter is featuring this video! Cool ideal!

  • yeah i just saw! haha

  • cool! thanks

  • this is awesome! im gonna try it someday hmm maybe now..

  • just did it with vanilla, and then a second time with cocoa mix. delish!

  • i remember doing this in 4th grade.

  • i tried this, but it tasted REALLY salty? do you know what I did wrong?

  • Either you used salt instead of sugar. Of when you put the smaller bad in the larger one, it leaked and some salt goin in your ice cream.

  • Your bag with the ice cream could have been too lose and salt came in or your bag with the ice cream could have busted and that could've mixed with salt and you probably used that and continued shaking, I don't know. When I make mines I normally use an aluminuim coffee can. You use layers of rock and salt in the coffee can, she obviously did it differently. But if this works for her, then maybe it can work for you!

  • ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • i did this in 5th and 7th grade

  • i remember doing this in 1st grade

  • yupp ;]

  • is this as good as regular icecream

  • why not just make a milkshake and put it in a bowl :P n00b

  • Hahahahahaha

  • I just did this a min. ago and it is good and easy, though my hands got cold shaking the ice!

  • can we use regular salt

  • you could. but mainly the only resone is to keep the ice cold. yes if you did use regular salt i would use alot of it, but you really don't need it.

  • Regular salt will nto work. Using rock salt is the best option.

  • cool

  • I know right. You are awesome

  • i did this last year for science. it was so much fun doing it with the class and it was reaallly good it tastes better than regular ice cream

  • thats amazing

  • Yummy! Almost as good as going to Friendly's! ;)

  • i did this but i didnt have any vanilla essence so i used banana milkshake and i put lil pieces of white malteser in it

  • i just did this but i put ovlatine in the milk to make chocolate ice cream :) thanks

  • that was delicious :) Thanks

  • cool can't waite to try it when i open my own daycare someday....

  • Can you fill the small bag? Like 3/4 of milk, sugar and vanilla?

  • Haha this is my final for my chemistry class xp.

  • end result?

  • can you just use a freezer?

  • hey i tried it, i just used regular salt (dumped the salt shaker into the bag didn't really measue) and i used 1 cup of milk 1 teasp of vanilla and 3tb of sugar. still worked in 5 mins was good :D

  • do u have to freeze it

  • no

    just shake

  • This is a pretty cool idea.

  • i copied this resipe and it worked!!!!!!

  • I can learn this to do my own ice-cream at home. Thanks :)

  • how bout sea salt i was to tired to make rock salt

  • nice lady, but instead of vanilla can i use powder chocolate???

  • will this work with chocolate and can u make it in a bowl

  • i tried it and it was pretty good...i just used regular salt and popped it in the freezer for about 5-10 mins...YUMMY!

  • really you used regular salt...great im going to try..

  • my girl freind says your icecream tastes like when she licks my crack on a hot summer day...but i liked it

  • I used regular salt befor and it worked

  • Comment removed

  • can i use normal salt?

  • nope. but you can make rock salt. 1. Heat some water.(But not too much water or will not work out!!!) While it's heating, dissolve as much salt in it as possible. Keep going until the water gets to the boiling stage.

    2. When the boiling water cannot take any more salt (a saturated solution) take the mixture off the stove and let it cool. The salt will form crystals as the water evaporates.

    3. Crush the salt crystals, and you've got rock salt.

  • thanks so much

    !!

  • of course you can use normal salt, chemically its the same

  • just made this today

  • does the salt make a big difference if u dont add them??

  • yea, it really does. i teach an after school program, (yea if u see my vids ull be like wtf, u teach um?) and i did this as an experiment wit my 5th graders and if u dont use alot of salt, it will not get cold enough

  • mine didnt work:(( is it because i used coffee?

  • I just made this yesterday.

  • I did this activity with my kindergarten students, and they loved it! It took about ten minutes or so for the ice cream to be solid enough to eat. I found out that I shouldn't bring rock salt to school, as it is toxic if it is ingested, so I'll try regular table salt the next time.

  • I'm lactose inttolerant so I made this with Soy Chocolate milk, It was great! Like a fudge bar or Wendys Frosty! MMMMMMMMMMMMMM! I also used table salt worked just fine.

  • My Wife And I try making this with my children but i guess the bag sorta got leaked and it tasted like salt =/... But This is A very good Video that u made on how to make ice cream Thanks Alot!

  • we are making it right now

  • taste good good thing i saw this video because i dididnt feel like buying icream

  • ive done that before but i didn't aadd enough sugar so the vanilla kinda mad it strong

  • my bro did this with me when i was 5 i ate all the ice cream my self tho lol

  • how old r u now? 27?

  • can you use regular salt?

  • I used regular salt and it worked fine.

  • U sure

  • yep. i've made it a few times that way and it has worked every time.

  • im gonna do that with my sisters no
