I looked at the zx14,the new BMW,Ducati and the Busa. I bought the Suzuki. Why? Talk to anyone that has one. Many are riding their second, third, even fourth model. The big Kawi has the most comfortable riding position, but I drive my car to be comfortable. The Beemer is technologically advanced, not the best characteristic in a early model of any machine. The Ducatis are racers and I don't have a track. An F-16 is ugly like a Busa, but when you open the throttle you feel the push and see a blur

@svt4life Damn straight. Even though 14R is like a battleship when you throw your leg over. I'm happy on the now-somewhat-aged Blackbird. Very quick, super comfortable (unlike Busa) for up to 18 hours a day riding, and still filters like a 250cc in traffic... Busa looks like a jelly bean.

@svt4life Actually, the Haybusa is able to get more of it's power down on the road than the Kwaka. Don't get me wrong, sure I own a Gen II Hayabusa, but I like the Kwaka as well. But, for those who just have to go hard, it just can't get the power to the ground properly. The biggest advantage for the Kwaka is a better riding position, but it comes at the loss of a bit of handling ability.

ZX10 is a good bike but a busa with a good rider will beat it, after a litre its all down to rider skill, so I wont say you wont overtake or beat everyone on your ZX10, but if its left down to equal skill and bikes a busa will beat you :)

@MrKing1961 you ZX-14 owners always say the 14 is faster... look at the best ever 1/4 times from both stock bikes... 14 best is 9.69 in the 1/4... Busa is 9.65 in the 1/4. That's with 4 different professional drag racers running both bikes. While there may be a few factory freaks out there that could beat the Busa... they weren't tested that day. Both are very very awesome, fast bikes.. but statistically speaking, the K9 Busa is the fastest production bike in the world in the 1/4 mile.

@MrKing1961 very true. I'm not hating on 14's AT ALL. I rode an 09 and hot damn, felt just as powerful as my K9 Busa!! With those times, it's all about the rider at a drag strip! I personally like the look of my Busa, but others prefer the 14's looks. To each his own. I think it's the 4 lights on the front that kill it for me, not quite sure though. And yes, ride safe!

ive had a 2001, a 2003 limited edition and currently have a 2008 busa and the 08 is much more refined, seems easier to ride, all the busas ive owned are very comfortable to ride, handle great, get great mpg up near 50mpg or better at 65-70 mph and of course go like hell lol

also the 08 obviously has different bodywork, different dash and also has the a,b and c mode selector on the right handlebar pod which limits the bikes power for different road conditions, which to me is useless, also has a digital gear indicator and a programmable shift light

the 1999 and half way thru 2001 the bike was not speed restricted, from 99-07 ther bike remained pretty much unchanged except bodywork colors, the 2008 has 40 more cc"s, 20 more hp, more torque, twice the fuel injectors, different suspension and radially mounted brakes but is 6 lbs heavier but when u ride it it feels 20 lbs lighter than the older busa..

every bike in the US is limited to 300K or 186 mph. after 199, when the busa broke 195 mph and the US said no. up to that speed, yes it's faster.

I love this argument. I have a 2000 model Busa and my mate has a Gixxer thou. Both are stupidly fast on the road. the difference is that the Gixxer was designed for the track, the Busa was designed for all out speed. Two different bikes, two dirrerent types of speed.

A Gsx-r 1000 k9 is 205kg, A Hayabusa 260 kg.

Gsx-r has 197 horse power with srad sytem in it, and a hayabusa 207, 10 more but 55 kg heavier. Thats why i Asked...

wouldnt ride a busa. The damn things are literally too fast and heavy for their own good. Just try turning and slightly accelerating and bam you are on the ground. Try doing wheelie(which you do every single time you try to go fast on one) and guess what, again the tire will squeel like a pig when you take off. Basically its a nice idea, great for point and shoot straight races, but its not practical at all for daily riding on the street. 1st gear and you are breaking the speed limit, has 6
