I'd just like to draw your attention to a novel called 'Atomised' written by Michel Houellebecq. It's a fiction novel about two half brothers (it's considered a modern classic), one is a wannabe artist and the other is a scientist. Both are nihilistic, isolated individuals who live totally miserable lives. Since the very begining the author talks about a 'New World Order', how the old world is dying and how a new world is coming into existence.

Those who've been on unemployment since Sept. 2008--all of them (1.3 million) will exhaust their 99 weeks this Nov. and Congress has said no to going past 99 weeks. By Nov., you'll have unemployed in the millions---17 million I think and that doesn't account for the underemployed and discouraged workers. Yes, the natives are beginning to get restless and I am fearful what is yet to happen.
