  • thank you so much for this video Mr Hock, I really appreciate your work and this is a fairly nice video about one essential project at our workshop. And one more thing if I may, the hollow-ground bevel of your blabes is the best thing when having to approach the sharpening stage, Great !!! thanks again

ooops ! and lovely blade adjustment hammer from glen-drake tools, such nice with that tapered screwdriver

If you can feel free to check out my youtube channel, so long folks !

  • that makes a sexy ass sound at 8:50.

btw, these can now be bought in stores

  • i made that its cool.

  • When you sharpen the bevel and get "two thin stripes" (about 7:00 in), is this because the bevel has been hollow-ground or is it a property of the blade itself (harder steel on the surface than in the middle)?

  • The blade is hollow ground which makes hand-held sharpening easier. The edge and the heel of the bevel set securely on the abrasive surface without the need for a honing guide. This results in the "two thin stripes" along the edge and the heel of the bevel. No need to hone the entire bevel.

Our blades (and most others) are hardened throughout.

  • Really helpful vid and great advice. I have recently ordered a kit, just waiitng to get started.

I like the idea of once built the plane can be shaped to any desired design.

    Good Job Hock Tools. Thanks

  • nice!

  • Thank you for the insights. I really love a thin shaving just flowing off the wood. That plane will do the job. Nicely done.
