@omega1231 Viking Metal came from Black Metal though and is really close to it. Viking Metal has more emphasis on gallop riffs than tremelo picking as a whole. Lyrically it's more based on Pagan beliefs and what not, rather than Satanism and the occult.

The BM/Norway portion (where this song plays) clearly explains why they burn down churches. It was supposed to be a reaction to the "invasion" of Christianity to the (then-) pagan lands of Scandinavia.
