@mksmbg Thanks for watching! I used a hand-held Sony cam ($99) from Radio Shack. I've since moved on to a more professional shoulder-mount Panasonic, but the little hand-held (which I've since given to my son) did a fun job!
im not being rude but they look like sperm lol anyways i got 2 tadpoles one with all its legs whos name is linda i dont know what they r maybe a motorbike frog
@Fearkkzz Go to google or any search engine and type in "how to catch and raise tadpoles and raise them" and you will get some very good suggestions. Good luck to you - and thanks for watching!
@ilovepittybulls Yes! Mysteriously so, but they do. The swimming pool cover always fills up with water, and when we open the pool, we're careful to dump the water + tadpoles and little baby amphibians into the creek behind the house. Thanks for watching!
They are pacific tree frog tadpoles. I have had them before, and they look just like those. Treefrogs love to lay their eggs in the water accumulated on the pool cover!
Good question, and people viewing are all over the map about what they are (Pacific tree frogs, bullfrogs, toads, etc.). All I know is, they're pretty cool and at night, the adult whatever-they-are amphibians make great sounds!
just found the same tadpoles in the reservation in mass. sco oped some out to see what kind they are. they look just like these. what did these turn out to be?
Thanks for watching! Some people watching this video said they're all toads, but others said they were a mixture of frogs and toads. I've seen all kinds of amphibians around our yard, including some tiny gray tree frogs and large green frogs and small toads, so I'm not sure if they all started their lives in our swimming pool cover or not.
wow!!!!! I have some tadpoles that are just like those! by the looks of them they will actually turn into woodhouse's toads!!! if you google it you will see alot of info on them.
Thanks for watching, Brandi! The tadpoles are back again this year, but they came later than usual. We were beginning to think we were in the middle of a tadpole drought....
Not a tadpole drought! That would be terrible! hehe. I hope to one day see these little wonders in person. I need to find a local lake or something. =)
Good idea to find a local watering hole or slow-moving creek. Have fun (today the weather is perfect for getting outside; spring has sprung here at last!).
They sure do! I was thinking that the whole time I was taking the video. Strange, but this year there are ZERO tadpoles swimming around in our pool cover and no frogs around at all. It's creepy, but I think something environmentally bad happened and they're gone this year, which is a real shame. First the nice honeybees disappeared, and now the frogs and toads. I think the bees are making a comeback, and I hope the frogs and toads do too!
Excellent! We love the little guys, whatever they are. And you're right; there are a ton of tree frogs around our place. Their music at night is amazing. We like to go outside and listen to them all talking to each other. Thanks for watching! Best, Jay
Thanks for watching and commenting! We love the tadpoles and try to carefully scoop them up and take them further back in the yard and pour them into a creek that runs through the woods there. They can then grow up to be big frogs and toads. It's getting to be that time of year again (this was shot last spring, about April time). Best, Jay
I've got a recommendation. When I do that with my pool, the smartest way to get them out is by using a strainer, unless you pick up the whole top and dump it. :) But... yeah, a strainer or a really tightly-knit net.
The tadpoles swim around in the pool cover until we get around to opening the pool (once the frogs and toads are mature enough to hop out and head down the hill and into the creek behind where we live. (BTW, I love watching your channel! I used to work for a woman who was COO of Children's TV Workshop.)
I like your idea about keeping one as a pet. They have now grown up to be rather large. Our swimming pool is now opened up and great for swimming, and all the frogs and toads have headed down the hill to the creek where they are having a wonderful time! Thanks for watching Shak!!
Yeah I know what tipe of frog are they gonna be, they are gonna be a american toad or a wood frog for shur believe, by the way you should conserve one of them to have as a pet when they grow up!!!! thanks a lot se ya.
Thanks, jenny! I spotted both the bird and the tadpoles that same afternoon and thought "Nature!!! Science Experiments!!!" When these tadpoles grow up there are literally a hundred or more frogs living in the swimming pool cover. When the pool opens up, a few frogs hang on in the pool and they bleach out to almost white in color from the chlorine and pool chemicals. Gross!

The snakes were hanging around the pool this weekend, probably taking a dip into the pool cover "pond" to slurp up some almost-grown tadpoles!

They look exactly like the bullfrog tadpoles I see in the quarry pond I work at. They might be bullfrogs or maybe all tadpoles look the same.

Be careful with them, theyre prolly not bullfrogs. Prolly some rarer tree frogs and forest toads.
