I just watched this video response attached to Lew's tall tale. Great job, Ray. People use to amuse themselves with this kind of music before TV. Seems like a better way! ...Bill
is that contains both biblical references, and little snipets of major events of American history, and that the way Woody ties them together nicely reflects how far society has advanced
Fantastic song Raymond!!! wow!!! New one for me. I wish I had the vocabulary to properly express how much I love and appreciate your talents that are plain to see in your videos!!!
A sterling performance of a mountainous being Woody Guthrie's historical meditation-I sat through this opus for the first time- without lighting a smoke or grabbing a beer or dialing a number- so this video goes to the top of my favorites list- well done!
While @ The Guthrie Festival this past July,a (not so) young man by the name of Arlo had performed this gem of his father's,prefacing it with the interesting fact that he had written the original concept while stealing a ride on the back of a cross-country feight train.
Here, you've done Mr. Guthrie great justice with your direct and no frills approach to the material.
You are lucky to see so many great shows. It's always interesting to hear Arlo sing his father's songs. The simple and direct approach is always the most appropriate for Woody I think.
Excellent, I think I have heard a different variation of a "bragging song" in my travels before and I always enjoy them - be it for the record of social events and the commentary, or just to put a smile on my face. They are great tunes. I especially enjoy the range of verses on this piece, thanks for sharing it Raymond!
I like the way he puts in verses about the events of special interest to him, such as the dust-storm migrations and the Grand Coulee Dam - and of course the comments on Fascism and the unions. Thanks for your comment.
Love this song. Good, good job you did with it. Thanks for posting.

It's a fun song. Sounds like they actually believed that world history was about 10000 years only, hehe. :P
