The iPad is really cool. But I wouldn't buy it because of many reasons. One, becuase it's an oversized iPhone/iPod Touch. I wouldn't buy it... Also because of the price. Why not just buy a Mac?

It is very easy to fill 32gb on an ipod. Even easier so on a iPAD. He didn't say iPod touch did he? People spend their money however they want. It is not your responsibility to tell them otherwise.

And since you've used that argument, you probably have no idea what encoding is, which makes it highly unlikely you're using lossless. I have roughly 600 songs. They fill up 20Gb. My friends have over 1000, 2000 songs. 3 movies is pathetic as well. That's probably less than 1Gb. Not everyone is like you and only able to fill 32Gb.

I just simply don't want it. If you have over 1000 songs, at least a quarter of them are unused. Sure, if I put on everything I could find, I'd run out of room. I was pretty interested in this till I saw it. I dunno, I think it's too much like and iPhone. That and it's just so much easier to use a proper laptop/pc, the iPad looks more like a novelty item, not really for heavy use.
If they'll make a model that lets me replace the batteries myself, I will consider it. But it really should be able to work as a tablet computer. It is far from what many people want. And I didn't notice anybody asking me what I might want on it.

Anyone can build a pc, and there are manufacturers in competition. Apple don't have any, so they can sell poor quality and overpriced products as much as they like. If apple osx was put onto pc systems, apple would go bust.
Apple are famous for overpriced, underpowered crap but this is taking it a step too far. Ignorent people assume that apple are good because they are expensive and look nice.
The best iMac, which costs well over 1K, can only do basic stuff. Try playing mw2 on minimum settings and it will crash. I built a pc for £450 and it can play mw2 on full settings, about 2x better than a console's graphics.
@MikesCHANNEL96 Basically all I'm saying is that the only thing that makes a mac good is the software (and maybe looks). As Apple make the only computers that have the software, they can put the prices up very high and people will still pay it for the very good software, but bad hardware.
If manufacturers like ASUS could put the Mac OS on their machines, it would cause the prices to drop because of competition.
Actually it's not just and iPod touch. It's got a feature that you can put books in it, which means schools that use macbooks will probably start to use it, and it has pages, keynote and numbers, which are the apple versions (and better versions) of word, powerpoint and excel
jeeezz.... why would i throw away a minimum of 500 $ on a thing i don't really need. It's more money well spent to go and party up all that money.. and if i needed a small thing to read e-books on and surf i would buy a netbook with windows on it.

I was pretty interested in this till I saw it. I dunno, I think it's too much like and iPhone. That and it's just so much easier to use a proper laptop/pc, the iPad looks more like a novelty item, not really for heavy use.

I got connections 'cause I got one of those like a year ago 'cept I shrank mine and I call it an iPod touch so people wouldn't ask me where I got it from. I tell you guys where you can get your shrunken iPad so you can fit it in your pocket and use it in places other than your home where you can use a computer if you want a screen that big.

the only advantages I see:
1. Book reading ability ( even though I prefer real books )
2. Long hour life, good for movies on a long plane ride, whereas the average laptop is 2 hours.
3. Smaller than a laptop for easy college note taking, but so is an electronic notebook.

Anyone can build a pc, and there are manufacturers in competition. Apple don't have any, so they can sell poor quality and overpriced products as much as they like. If apple osx was put onto pc systems, apple would go bust.

Apple are famous for overpriced, underpowered crap but this is taking it a step too far. Ignorent people assume that apple are good because they are expensive and look nice.
The best iMac, which costs well over 1K, can only do basic stuff. Try playing mw2 on minimum settings and it will crash. I built a pc for £450 and it can play mw2 on full settings, about 2x better than a console's graphics.

@MikesCHANNEL96 Basically all I'm saying is that the only thing that makes a mac good is the software (and maybe looks). As Apple make the only computers that have the software, they can put the prices up very high and people will still pay it for the very good software, but bad hardware.
If manufacturers like ASUS could put the Mac OS on their machines, it would cause the prices to drop because of competition.

Actually it's not just and iPod touch. It's got a feature that you can put books in it, which means schools that use macbooks will probably start to use it, and it has pages, keynote and numbers, which are the apple versions (and better versions) of word, powerpoint and excel
