  • counter terrorist win.

  • what would happend if u leave the center magnet stanionary(so it can't move)???

  • I still don't see why people think perpetual motion is possible. Well, theoretically it IS, if you had a 100% enclosed system, no radiation in or out, no friction, nothing. which is impossible without something of infinite density, which would cause a black hole singularity etc etc... but in practise, in the real world, as they say, you can't get perpetual motion. Just because you want to believe in it doesn't mean it will happen. Go and believe in free money, it's more likely to happen.

  • in this house we obey the laws of thermodynamics!

  • warum hat das so viele daumen runter? das ist einer der besten maschinen, die ich gesehen habe...abgesehen davon, das es UNMÖGLICH ist, heutzutage" ein perpetuum mobile zu bauen

  • try another direction

  • Holy shit!!! look at it go!!! It just kept spinning faster and faster!! I guess it's time for me to throw out my expensive, useless physics degree...

  • Dude. Would you please use your talents for something useful? You need to consider friction, gravity and wind resistance. Technically, if you spun a simple wheel in the middle of the universe where nothing was tugging at it, it would spin forever. On Earth, you can't do that. :)

  • Almost...

  • You shouldn't need to start it and it shouldn't stop.

  • You should rotate it in clockwise, but you dont

  • I think is the correct approach, since it is using the gravity force which is ilimited.

As the magnet tries to move arms to a side gravití makes them fall down. so make bigger your magnet in the middle and make some L shaped arms so the magnet does not fight against gravity. Keep thinking! tell me bout any tries!

  • first problem: wheels aren't octagonal O__O

  • mmmm not possible

  • In the limit when you use the best materials and construction possible this device will be almost as good as a standard wheel.

  • Psst. Use some sort of elastic band or spring to attach the weights too. :3

  • "See the difference in # of rotations between starting this wheel clockwise or counter clockwise."

just turn the whole thing around 180 degrees, and it is clockwise and everthing will be the same

  • fail

  • The problem is friction. There is never never never any way around it. You could

say friction is the only perpetual motion.

  • what kind of response is "this is a fail" These people have no idea what it takes to create an idea (physically), then post it online. All they have are opinions. They do not believe in themselves enough to speculate beyond what they are told to believe. this is why they insist on belittling the videos because they dont have the balls to go and create something on there own. They are scared to fail, when failing is apart of becoming self aware and a healthy functioning human being. a REAL MAN!

  • its weid... this is the first attempt to a gravity wheel i see on youtube that spins counterclockwise

  • My pet hampster is not impressed

  • The wheel on my bicycle spins for longer than this.

Also did you know that if you have a smaller wheel on the front of your bike you will be rolling permenantly down hill! Thats free energy.

  • in russian:

останавливается потому что здесь присутствует трение с воздухом. оно очень маленькое но оно есть! оно будет всегда и везде! в вакууме эта конструкция возможно и будет работать, но я думаю здесь есть ещо трение между ножкой и осью "колеса"

  • Comment removed

  • sorry for my english. i'm russian. but it stoppes again and again because there is a friction with an air. it's very small but it is! always and ewrywere it will be! in the vacuum this construction maybe can work . but i think there's friction between the leg and axle of "wheel"

    in russian:

  • You're introducing the weight to the outside too soon. also, you're weights should go closer to the center to use less leverage to move them up. Also, it's upside down...you want the weight on the inside when it's going up.

  • wait let it spin the other way it wants to if it stopped and reversed itself im sure it would spin counter clockwise

  • hh...i like the western youngster's interest to science...not like our arab countries, we still learning about islamic history and old poetry ! hh shit !! the problem of retired mind is our educational system...fuck!

    ali from morocco

  • I think I have the solution to your problem! You should try putting the weights on the outside. So when a weight is on the side it will fall outward and give it more leverage on that side so it spin.

  • Luckily it only took 4 days to build!

Oh well, back to the ol' drawing board.

  • nope, the weights try to throw throw the side of the wheel sideways and not down

  • I have a wheel that spins longer... Anything.

  • hmmmmmmmm

  • People don't know how to READ LOL *points at you*.

In the video title, it says ""COUNTER CLOCKWISE TEST"" I'm not saying its gonna work better the other way around though lol.

  • Good idea, keep working at it.

  • I only you look at the momentum on the left and on the right the wheel should rotate the other way and even then it will not work because there is no work being done in a closed loop.

  • Ci siamo quasi! Bravo!

  • interesting concept, a little work and it could work.

  • build a giant coill around the moon, and it will generate electricty from the earth's magnetic feild.

That or make satilites with coills, and have them shoot lasers down to a solar collector

  • Buckminster Fuller stated the smallest perpetual motion machine is the universe itself.

and hay, there might be an outside force feeding this also.....hmmmmm

unless You define universe as the multiverse..all existing matter in all of infinity in alll dimensions,,,

A good story to read is Aasimov's "The Last Question."

kind of puts it in perspective...

of course, this is all simply mind interpreting EMF's and calling it reality.

    Nothing exists except mind.

    Thats what they say:D

  • If you put a normal wheel with the same positioning of weight on as good a bearing as a "gravity wheel" it will spin for longer before stopping.

Its not perpetual motion, its temporary storage and release of kinetic energy in an efficient manner.

  • @Creaform003 If you got a megnetic brearing an attached a flyweel and put it in a vacumm it would spin forever now if you put magnets on it and have coils that will apply a load and it will stop spinning.

  • It's not perpetual motion, and nor will any similar attempt to this ever be.

These motors don't work, NOT because of just friction, but because Physics is serious when it tells you that Force = mass*acceleration.

There is no configuration that can make those rules of nature act in a baneifical manner. It will *always* take just as much force to lift something against gravity as it does to turn a wheel as it tries to resist a springy strip of metal.

  • The reason why these wheels don't work is simplistic physics. Engineering doesn't require a mind capable of handling basic conceptualization of Newtonian physics.

  • Comment removed

  • @Acosmicist: Actually engineering is unequivocally based in Physics. Every force has an equal and opposite reaction. Which you tried to demonstrate in the trolling comments above this one. Oh, don't name drop subjects and the people who worked to create them to make yourself sound inteligent.. You do a disservice to people like me who graduated with a degree in engineering. Though, prepetual motion machines are BS.

  • Energy lost in friction.

  • The energy isn't lost in Friction alone as much as it could ever be lost with a load. Even if you erased friction the equation, these wheels won't work. This shit has more to do with the law of conservation of energy than it does with the second law of thermodynamics. Essentially, you can ignore friction entirely and still effectively demonstrate using a mathematical model of the wheel exactly *why* it will never work.

  • There is no perpetuel force. And if there was just a tiny bit, Centrifugal force would keep it as a tiny bit.

  • Even if you neglected *BOTH* friction and centrifugal force, the laws of conservation of energy show that the force required to lift the weights to any point of potential energy is equal to the kinetic energy required to lift the weights in the first place. You can't make springs do work for you. Even if you neglect friction and centrifugal force, it takes just as much force to pull against the springs as it presumedly would to lift the weights to a position of beneficial force.

  • I pretty much said that in my first sentence.

  • this is fail. reason: gravity wheel should never stop rotate.

  • "gravity wheel should never stop rotate."

no. gravity wheel will ALWAYS stop rotate.

  • disagree. reason: if gravity wheel should stop rotate, then it will be called "wheel". Because this is GRAVITY wheel, it should never stop rotating. Are u total atheist? :)

  • @crackmaster88 - gravity wheel IS just "wheel" because they ALWAYS stop rotate. they dont work.

what does athiest have to do with this?

  • well atheist does not believe in anything :D Nvmnd, i'm just kidding. As i heard, read and saw, this is possible, but i don't know if anybody make it work... There is thousands of vidz on YT about this, and i am pretty sure that one day someone will make it happen.

  • well i dont know where you heard, read, and saw that this is possible... as nobody has ever provided any proof at all that one exists, except through deceptively poor quality videos that never show you the back side of the device (aka where the motor and batteries are hidden)

its just an "overbalanced wheel." their fatal flaw is, they always balance. :)

  • Nonsense, all that needs to be done is changing the laws of physics to match their childishly oversimplified 'understanding' and the whole problem is solved.

    :p

  • :) and perhaps its not the wheel that spins perpetually, its the universe!

  • I'm atheistic, and I'll be one of the first to inform you that there is no magical properties of physics. This field has been fully explored and only within my limited exploration of several mathematical equations using the properties of calculus as employed by Newton have I began to understand why "skepticism" in this area is well-demonstrated.. You don't have to be *EINSTEIN* to work out the physics of why this shit doesn't work.

  • @crackmaster88 it stopped cuz he turned it the wrong direction

  • @timedstroyer no it stopped because thats what happens to things that are in motion in areas with friction. (thats everywhere)

  • @crackmaster88

This video showed one simple rule: gravity is a bitch

  • Nice design, ever tried using magnets within the wheel to add a bit more umm springiness, maybe you can use magnets and gravity together! best of luck..

  • SUCKS!!!!

  • to start this ccw the magnet spring has to be compressed, the opposite direction it is not. It takes extra force to get the wheel into position to start CCW vs. CW. Rule #1 in science, don't fool yourself.

Also, it is not difficult to make a system that rotates faster one way than another, drag friction can be configured directionally. Just because something is slowed more in one direction than another does not mean either side is creating motion.

  • The key to making these types of machines work, is by making them offset. A 3 degree offset will help you achieve what you are after. The problem is we are so conditioned from schooling to balance machines - do the opposite (also try an egg shape) ... the 3 degree offset works.. i know... with a slightly different machine thou

  • i made mine work with a magic wand, a wizard hat, and a magic powder I made from burning a physics textbook and a treatise on calculus.

  • I did not even bother to learn magic. I made mine work by simply giving it another spin with my hand every time it stopped.

  • @xaoseph Lol - I think it's other kinds of magic powder at work here.

  • @xaoseph

That method works really well.. Have you ever tried running perpetual motion by the power of love? I know it's old fashioned, but so reliable.

  • @xaoseph Darn. I was so close to it. I tried using ground unicorn horn, pixie dust, and a dash of magnets.

  • @xaoseph YOU SIR GET ALL MY INTERNETS FOR A WEEK!

  • Did the magical unicorn tell you how to achieve overunity?

  • Helpless lol... counterclockwise made me think he might actually find me the left handed shovel i've been looking for 'wink'

  • You wouldn't actually have to push a gravity wheel (if there were a real one). You would just be able to let go of it and it would begin turning on its own.

  • There is a real one, and it works. Built by a french inventor in his backyard. It's about as big as a ferris wheel though. Quite huge.

  • WhiteCavendish: I'd bet all the money in my bank account there's an outside power source involved.

  • I don't believe you. Please provide a link or reference.

  • Put a magnet near it, as to create more pull on one side.

  • good idea

  • There must be some trick to it because this is almost the same as da vinci's perpetual motion machine which failed. COOL VIDEO ANYWAYS!

  • Here Fiction Science !

The law of conservation of energy states that the total amount of energy in an isolated system remains constant

Consequence of this law is that perpetual motion machines can only work perpetually if they deliver no energy to their surroundings. If such machines produce more energy than is put into them, they must lose mass and thus eventually disappear over perpetual time, and are therefore impossible.( See Einstein's theory of relativity).

    Wake up !!!

  • who claimed that it was perpetual motion? gravity wheels use gravity. duh. and did it work? no.

the best way to learn is by trying. if you havent tried your best to make one of these then you have no right to say that it is impossible.

  • those weights need to be on frictionless sliders

  • there is no such thing as frictionless, only a very small amount of friction

  • in this instance I agree

  • I believe this is a very interesting demonstration of a "Rotary Pendulum". Out of balance Energy is exchanged between Potential and Kinetic Energy.

    Lodewyk South Africa

  • make the axle and casing out of magnets so they are frictionless?

  • except for air resistance. if there were no type of friction it would never stop.

  • make the axle and casing out of magnets so they are frictionless? And encase the whole thing in a sealed vaccuum?

  • i dont know exactly how it works but i would say it wouldnt stop in that case

  • That's a great idea! I think it would work under those conditions. That would make these very helpful on board spaceships or, in the future, space colonies.

  • but then, wouldn't a perfectly normal wheel too?

  • yeah theeres no point in having a bunch of shit inside the wheel. if theres NO friction at all, you could have a turd on a string and itd spin forever. but magnets cause friction?

  • Can you remove the air, lets say for example do it in a vacum?

  • So close yet so far.....it seems. Surely there must be a way to tweak the system and compensate for those pesky back torque moments....

  • Davinci desing... read about it

  • Wow! You should have continued the video longer!

  • the reason this is really hard to work, is because your seperating hammers are on TOP and thus not pulling away from the edges on a specific side, and coming in contact to the opposite edge.

  • thats awesome

  • Read my commends under here.

    And...

The well must rotate in other direction.

  • 1 - A a free rotating weel (few friction) makes the well go back and losse momentum.

2 - A fixed axis well, makes the well lose energy on some movements.

3 We need to have a bit of friction and the well must support hinself over the base...

4 The center pin or axis must be supported by concave wood, that permits the well a bit of freedown of movement.

  • the wood base on the ORIGINAL makes is works like car in first gear, hard to walk on, HARDER TO STOP in a self propelling engine.

  • Sorry the delay, just do it right.

First, There must be actrict on the axis.

The free rotating axis make the well lose his momentum.

Look at the original.was wood over wood. A secret that makes the timing perfect.

  • these things work!!, only they run out after 3 days

  • If it works only 3 days? More than enough!

3 days, push it again, never pay the eletric bill... this works for me.

That means that you need more weight, or something happens with the earth gravity all the time, as I have stated before.

  • you CANNOT GET more energy OUT of a system than you put IN (some is lost to other places).

you gonna put in enough energy to power your house? you gonna be pushing that wheel very hard or for a very long time :p

  • i think u did it wrong.

When the Weights are moving downwards they get near to the CENTER so u loos Momentum. Why u do that? Its actual Stopping your machine, or isnt?

Keep the Mechanik but put all outside the Wheel and when it move downwards the Momentum rises, in the upward move the weigts get near to the wheel and Momentum goes down :D

  • the evolution of the gear...

  • do you have magnets on the center hub, to give the falling magnet a kick as the top magnet falls down near it,,maybe some kind of a kick like that would help keep it going,,just a thought.

  • Cmon correct this!

They must fall only when it reach the top.

    After pass the center.

Take it back and do it RIGHT!

  • ... your saying we should remove gravity on half the wheel? XD

  • always short vids . . . useless . . . what happens after the end ??

  • mmm... promissing concept

  • mmm... promissing concept

  • Why not put some magnets at 5 o clock (counterclockwise or 7 o clock when running clockwise) on the housing to make them want to come up again, nice machine.

  • Nice job on the construction, sir.
