U reach for the secret too soon

    Givin sum chills uknow:P

    remember to watch part2

Hats off to Pink Floyd from Finland

  • @TheOmnibot Yes. I do have the album. After spending 30 years in the civil service I can concur with such sentiments as are expressed on "Welcome To The Machine". I had a brief, youthful career as a punk rebel !

Even though I believe the band were tight in highlighting Syd's mental dishevelment, at least they made sure he got his royalties. If only they had had a word with Syd's LSD supplier. If only.

  • @TheOmnibot When Syd attended the “Wish...” sessions, he was behaving very oddly. He was apparently, now minus eyebrows, “trying to clean his teeth by holding the brush still and jumping up and down”. After viewing these actions the band should have said: “Our dear friend is now a total nutcase; it’s best that we be sensitive to his condition and not release the track referring to him as “Crazy”.

    I am not American !

  • Warner lot-----pass/olive. ave ......burbank ,ca

  • this is the definition of heaven.

  • this is the definition of heaven.

  • This is AMAZING !

  • I always thought it was a bit tight of the Floyd to allude to Syd's poor mental state in this song. The guy was suffering enough with out these guys encouraging him to more outlandish behaviour by telling him to "Shine On". Syd's mental health team should have had a word with the band to prevent the track being released.

  • @gigsing - is it definitely about him?

  • I don't need drugs to experience this - just to enhance it!

  • Pink Floyd is the only way ....

  • Great my Brother !!!

  • Ok, would it have killed you to post the whole song?

  • MarioBrosClassic ,Why would I lie about something like that? I wish it wasn't true, but sadly it's all too real.

It doesn't make any difference to me what you think though, You mean nothing to me,I don't know you, and I wont give you a second thought, I keep my thoughts for the people that mean something to me, and you mean nothing.

with the UK being a country not totally poisoned by religion, many funeral here a non-religious, you can have any song you like, why not this one?

  • how many joints have YOU smoked to this tune??....me....all of them

  • I actualy planned to take a shower, but I can't put away me phone playing THIS!

  • 3:54 is just incredible. 4 notes. 4 fucking notes. Steve Vai can play about 15 notes a second and none of his stuff will ever be as powerful as those few seconds of 4 notes. How the hell can 4 notes sound so amazing? I actually feel scared, exited, big, small, chilled out all at the same time at 3:54. No one can write music like this

  • @Django5198 listen whore.

  • @thomnormasmama I'm sorry did I say something to offend you? Sorry if I did. I didn't mean it

  • @Django5198

    ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

SHUT UP AND ENJOY THE MUSIC!

    ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

  • @Calatafimi indeed!

  • @Django5198 agreed

  • beautiful

  • For Terry.

    Wish you were here.

  • RIP Richard Wright and Syd Barrett(the inspiration for this song and just about the whole Wish You Were Here album and the founder of Pink Floyd)

  • Best song ever made, but the P.U.L.S.E version is much better.

  • who needs drugs whit music like this?

  • @alucard1589 syd

  • @alucard1589 music like this strives from emotion. Drugs can put you through some fucking wicked emotions my man.

  • This will never be matched - not in this world.

  • this is beyond musical genius.

  • I LOVE THESE SONG

  • Do not believe those people who say that definition of epic is very imposing or impressive; surpassing the ordinary (especially in size or scale.

The real definition of epic is Shine on you crazy diamond!

    (Sorry Chuck Norris)

  • 8:43 skip the intro

  • @xSobhan Why would you want to?

  • @TheLastBaron16 it was just a joke lol

  • .......................Immensi

  • This song, is one of the songs I never get tired off. I have loved this song since the first time I heard, which must have been in the beginning of the eighties. I can still listen to it everyday and still loving it. In my opionion, Pink Floyd are the greatest band of all times.

  • i thing i found the best song on the entire earth!

  • this my favourite pink floyd song, not a massive fan of them but i like them from time to time

  • two words. Roger. Waters.

  • The thing about the music of Pink Floyd is that it stirs emotions. I sometimes think it would be nice to be hearing this music again for the first time, a blank slate,so to speak.

When I listen to the crap they play on commercial radio, it sounds like white noise to me, but when the Floyd is played, on some rare occasion, it brings into focus what a fantastic band they were and how amazing their music is, and is a precursor for turning up the volume and getting the air guitar out.

  • I was just digging through my father's vinyl collection and i found this nice album. Listening to it right now.

  • I can't listen to this song without Roger singing it.

  • When I moved from Seattle, I had no friends. The day after I listened to this song, I made so many friends I couldn't count them all. My life to Pink Floyd.

  • i was 14 when this song came out and had my first (musical)orgasm

  • Ahhhhh yes the good ol days! If you remember them you are getting up in age dear boy!! I do remember when I was young!! I was in my teens when this came out. Now i am nearing 50 years old!! Time...it waits for no one!!

  • @abstract6219 biggest regrets in ife? and what would you say to the 18 year old version of you with the knowledge you now have?

  • The 6 people who dislike this are the same people who though the pun "Santa Paws" was funny

  • Beautiful...simply beautiful...no words to describe this masterpiece.

  • who the HELL would click dislike?!?! It's just amazing..

  • @friscobay01 my guess is people with no taste would hit dislike.

  • @friscobay01

said it before and will say it again, there are people in this world that just don't know what real music is. they are the ones that think brittany and lady ga ga can really sing

  • Both parts together combine for the greatest song written in the 20th century and so far the 21st century as well. Such genius on everyones part here. Gilmours hands should be put in a museum when he dies. He has THE touch.

  • MASTERPIECE MADE BY THE MASTERS WATERS , DAVID , RIGHT , MASON

  • This album scared the hell out of me when i was young boy. It's so eerie...I LOVE PINK FLOYD!

  • One day - the music that Pink Floyd created in the 1970's will sit reverently between Mozart and Tchaikovsky. Such emotion in this track it is spine-tingling !

  • Diciamo tranquillamente che fa parte della colonna sonora della mia vita

  • Ricordo indelebile...trasferimento a Roma Carnevale 1976

  • Undoubtedly the best rock track of all time

  • Rick Wright was great but please listen the guitar work of the one and only......D. Gilmour astonishing or in new English hot

  • god i love richard wrights keyboard work, so subtle yet so effective.

  • shine on you crazy motherfucking diamond

  • 6:26 - 7:30 = Outer space.

  • @gaiasoul23 It is actually in 12/8 time.

  • @MrZero5555 6/8

  • @godmode1

    12/8 :-/

  • I suggest driving to and from work with Waters, Gilmour, Wright and Mason on board. Trust me, it'll make for one heavenly trip!

  • most beautuful music ever composed.

  • When my brother died an old friend of his asked my mother could he have this song played at his funeral, now every time I hear it it almost breaks my heart.

  • @parrytonneath

sorry to hear it. I never want to know the feeling of my brother being gone forever.

  • @Tuffnuttz892

i feel sorry 4 ya - but he will surely shine on like a diamond - maybe a crazy one ;-) keep a smile on ur face and remember the good times u had with him - nobody can take THIS away!!

  • @parrytonneath that's so sad but you shouldn't associate that kind of pain with this kind of music it's ment to be enjoyed not for mourning. sorry for your loss though.

  • @Bulrog10 It's not the case of associating the music with pain, we don't choose the thing That stirs our emotions, they just do, but that is the beauty of the Floyd, they do stir emotions.

For me, this song in not a dirge or a lament, but a heartfelt reminder of a crazy Diamond that give me my first taste of Pink Floyd when we were young, I'm old enough to remember this album when it was released.

I hope this song will always stir the same emotions for me, that's what makes it so great.

  • @parrytonneath that was a beautiful thought

  • @parrytonneath im really sorry to hear that

  • @parrytonneath That is so sad but at the same time it'sjust beautiful...

    Cruel Life ...

  • @parrytonneath cool story bro....hey its super easy to lie on here....George Clooney once told me this is his fav song and then we had sex

  • @MarioBrosClassic wow, ur a fuckin dick

  • @killYoUr100FACEs first time on the internet? okay thats fine

  • @MarioBrosClassic no im just sayin, who are you to decide what's a lie and what's truth? even if it is a lie, like that's just shady to leave shitty comments

  • @parrytonneath sorry to hear about your brother, this song means so much to me, I hope my friends ask for this at my funeral too!

  • @parrytonneath - hope my friends ask for this too!

  • @parrytonneath Cool Lie Bro.

  • exelente!!!!!

  • @edsroraphael Na minha opinião melho album do PINK FLOYD

  • I was in a mad rush to get to a mates place yesterday and i was 10 minutes late, and just when i arrived this song starts on the radio! So i ended up being 25 minutes late :)

  • @eza27

    right fucking on

  • @eza27 And let me guess, then you2 mated right?

  • @eza27 What radio station still plays this song? The DJ must be an angel

  • @LeweRG maybe 100.3 the sound...at least in so cal

  • wall before DARK SIDE are you kidding me Waaal was good but Dark Side had so many more layers to it ;get both out listen to both i mean actually listen to the nuances the passions, and then remember Wall came out when they could do alot more than they could on Dark Side then decide which is the superior album

  • Hash and Pink Floyd ultimate combo

  • Ni tan siquiera 500 teclados última generación podrán emitir el espectacular sonido de esta canción...

  • Who wrote this David Guilmore or Roger Waters?

  • waters main lyricist, gilmore and wright and waters the music.

  • @oddtunes Roger was the main songwriter.

  • It's nearly impossible for me to pick my favorite band of all time, but Pink Floyd is definitely one of the finalists!

  • 7:35 -840 = One of my top 5 fav solos

  • I have always liked Pink Floyd, but I have to admit that for the longest time I mostly listened to songs from "The Wall" and "The Dark Side of the Moon". I started to really listen to this album about a year ago, and it just blows me away. Gilmour is brilliant on the guitar; so much passion and heartbreak. If ever an album reaches every spectrum of emotion, it's "Wish You Were Here" and especially this song.

  • this is fucking beautiful. <3 RIP Syd

  • this is my favorite song of all time from my all time favorite band

  • This puts me at (a momentary) peace with the human species.

  • RIP Richard Wright

You'll forever Shine On, You Crazy Diamond

  • I've never been a great pink Floyd fan until yesterday. I knew comfortably numb, and searched the live version of it... It's just magical.. That's how I discovered the beauty of every song they made. First time I heard this song just now.. Goosebumps all the way....

  • Everything about this song is perfect.

  • my favorit pink floyd albums... 1. Dark side 2.Wish you were here 3.Animals 4.The Wall 5.Meddle 6.Momentary lapse... 7.the piper 8.obscured by clouds 9.saucerful of secrets 10.final cut
  • AND SHINE!

  • This is one of the few songs where you can here PAIN through the guitar.

  • It doesn't get any better than this.....

  • @gkjesper Couldn't agree more.

  • Is it possible to make music like this without any drugs??? ;-)

  • @MrBernd5 If you're Richard Wright, David Gilmour, Roger Waters, and Nick Mason, then yes, it is.

  • maybe the best pink floyd album

  • @Harjunniemi

    Best one. Next is Animals.

  • @cjgone2 This one is the best. But The Division Bell is second.

  • @GamerTyke Nah. I'd say:

    1. The Wall

    2. Wish You Were Here

    3. Dark Side of the Moon

    4. Division Bell

    5. Momentary Lapse of Reason

    6. Animals

  • @xAtheistAlexeix

I'm listening to One Slip right now. I forgot what a good album Momentary Lapse is.

  • @GamerTyke Yeah. My fav off that album is Learning to Fly

  • @xAtheistAlexeix Mine's either that one or On the Turning Away.

  • @xAtheistAlexeix

WHAT THE HELL MAN. WTF. Not only did you leave out meddle, you fucking put Animals at the bottom. What is wrong with you man. Animaks is top 3, and what the hell is the wall doing at #1. It's nowhere near the greatness of DSoFTM, WYWH, Animals, or Meddle.

  • @cjgone2 No way. The wall is their best album ever, no questions. Animals is still a really good album, but I REALLY like every single pink floyd album and animals was just less favoured over the other 4. I'm not saying I didn't like animals, just that I prefered the albums above it.

  • @xAtheistAlexeix

    1. Wish you were here

    2. Animals

    3. Dark side ...

    4. The wall

    5. Meddle

    6. The piper ...

    7. Ummagumma

    8. A saucerful of secrets

  • @Teknador You know, I can respect those choices, but I never heard anything off ummagumma other than "several species of small furry animals"... you know the rest. That song just scared me the fuck away from that album, lol

  • @Teknador The wall before dark side, unless you're a stoner, but other than that great list.

  • @Teknador mehhhh

    1. Animals

    2. Dark Side of the Moon

    3. Wish You were Here

    4. Meddle

    5. The Wall...

    =)

The good songs on the wall were GREAT but there was wayyy too much filler

  • @LSDylanmann That's pretty much the way I would put it. Animals is off the chain....not that you give a damn. Just sayin.

  • @LSDylanmann lol, floyd has no filler, or is all filler OMG *walks away in a contemplative haze*

  • @sliferredleader MIND. EXPLODED.

  • @RazrHack yep, that is the first step to understanding pink floyd. there are 71299192937129391204134225234523452345 steps, and i am on nuber 63 =)

  • @RazrHack yep, that is the first step to understanding pink floyd. there are 71299192937129391204134225234523452345 steps, and i am on number 63 =)

  • @RazrHack lol i have been listening to floyd my entire life

  • this song always makes me cry. it's so beautiful.

  • A MASTERPIECE.

  • This song is a journey through the eras of music:

    part 2 rock music

    part 4 power ballad

    part 5 jazz

part 6 and 8 funk music

  • masterpiece of modern music

  • Hey carmen howd you like the song you crazy diamond?!

  • Comment removed

  • The feeling of loneliness never sounded so beautiful.

  • The conscious expansion process is the reverse of the birth process. Birth being the beginning of game-life and the ego-loss experience being the temporary end of game-life.

    What a mind expanding album.

  • 3:55 the most orgasmic riff in the whole history of music!!!!

  • la pochette du disc ma toujours fait alluciné!

  • i saw this live in i think 2007 when roger waters came to minnesota and played, and it was crazy! i will never forget it, i was 11 at the time

  • @DMAshorts ...Wow. I'm amazed at how the music of Pink Floyd continues to transcend generations. I'm 43, and was turned on to them by a cousin who was 8 years my senior, in 1973. I also saw Waters in 2007, in Vegas, and yes, that was a tremendous show.

  • @DatingGameKiller They are a great band, and they have such a cool style, almost creepy, and sometimes it almost messes with your head, which is amazing! so of course everyone loves pink floyd!

  • 4:32 = eargasm

  • complete masterpiece. i'm lucky enough to feel them, even if i'm not a part of their generation.

  • @Nomichka almost everyone here is not part of their generation. Don't know if that's good or sad.

  • it's so slow, but it's so worth it
