  • This song is the forerunner of hardcore punk and speed metal

  • Hornswoop my Bungo Pony!!

  • This is the music of immortals.

  • It's all right (repeat four more times) Oh yeah my honey knows it's all right It's all right (repeat four more times) Oh yeah my baby knows it's all right Hornswoop me bungo pony, dogsled on ice Make a dash for freedom baby don't skate on polar ice It's too think to be sliced by the light Of long and white polar nights It's all right (repeat four more times) Oh yeah my honey knows it's all right It's all right (repeat four more times) Oh yeah my baby knows it's all right

  • I saw them in concert 3 times and they always cooked! This version is one of the best. I still like the original too from the Tyranny and Mutation album.

  • WOOOOW, DID YOU HEAR ERIC'S VOICE AT 2:33??? That is soo manly!! That was great, this was a great show

  • This is the best BOC concert on video I've ever seen. It originally aired on an MTV "Saturday Night Concert" back in the day. I've been looking for it ever since. Thanks for posting.

  • "What is Blue Oyster Cult?"

    "Higher mathematics."

    I love them!!!!!

  • I'd been in need of a BOC fix for some time, but didn't quite expect to find music and video of the quality here--so available...thanks for posting it!

  • yes, as a matter of fact i did see the shows with a vast array of lasers. and fireworks. two or three new year's shows plus a few others.

thankfully buck was not wearing a gold toga. :o)

laser light gets super bright when it hits the cloud of smoke in the arena. they had red and green which sometimes made a sheet of light that panned up and down. plus mirror balls. that was sooooo awesome.

back then i heard about one kid having temporary blindness from the red laser and was suing. ??

  • Beautiful.....

  • Hey mrculo262! I was a High School kid in the 78-82 period and BOC Played at the Palace Theatre in Albany NY. They had the laser light show with a bunch of red lasers pointing from their guitars up at the mirrored balls. I cant forget how incredible the effect was and want to share it. Anyone seen any videos of BOC's reported $100,000 laser light show that the Feds shut down?

  • Someone's been hitting the gym....

  • buck should use the firebird more

  • These guys were no slouches. Rick Downey plays the drums so furiously that it makes you not miss Albert and the five man guitar assault that he was part of.

  • Ahhh-this is funn.

    A guitar lover's dream!

  • Buck Dharma rules the fretboard!

  • One of most bad ass riffs ever written. BOC need more mention in the great acts of their generation. Lots of rock bands today could learn a thing or two from these dudes.

  • Learn a thing or two? They could learn how to create MUSIC.

  • @defnist47 They ARE music, or are you deaf?

  • Fucking beautiful band, I love them

  • what do you mean retirement?aren't all guys still gonna tour?I sure as al hell hope so.I haven't see 'em since great adventure in Pa. when I was 7.

  • Can someone please turn on the lights!

  • Great jammin ! Saw BOC 5 times always kickass. Talked to Buck for a minute at expo 86 music hall Vancouver. Favorite was 1981 with Molly Hatchet and Riot. Not care Riot but Molly shaked the coliseum real good before BOC tore the roof off!

  • This is terrific! Who doesn't remember all five lined up in the 70s with the guitars blazing too!

    Happy days indeed!

    Thanks!

Buck you hero! Thanks Eric...Happy retirement Allen....and thanks to Al and Joe and all who played in her...

  • Allen Lanier is the most underrated musician in the history of rock and roll.

  • he's the bands rhythm, soo is joe and albert, those three keep it going, with out them buck and eric could not be as amazing as they are

  • FYI, Rick Downey was a pro drummer for years before he worked for BOC. first as a drum roadie, then rd mngr & light designer. he then rd mngd bands like Motely Crue & Anthrax

Buck's wife made the gold suit... when your wife makes something for you to wear onstage, you wear it... as any married man will tell you!!!

How do I know all this stuff??.. I worked for the band almost 20 yrs... that's my voice doing the intro on this clip...Hollywood fla 10/9/81

Never met or worked with better people..

  • I always loved your introductions, great voice!

  • Samela-good to see you here.Almost forgot how good they sounded back then. This version is killer. :)

  • @mrculo262 --- good to meet you, I thought the description was funny, hopefully it was tongue in cheek, Ricks a great drummer indeed

  • I'M ON THE LAMB BUT I AIN'T NO SHEEP

  • A couple things that I love about this clip: Allen Lanier laying down some fucking solid leads on the guitar, Buck wearing that ridiculous gold outfit but being able to pull it off because he's such a badass, and although Al Bouchard is gone by this point, the rest of the band is clearly at a high point performance-wise. Too bad there isn't a clip on YT of this song with all original BOC members.

  • Oh man...Great footage!!!!!

Great song... Look at that Gibson T Bird!

  • One of the greatest ever

  • I just saw BOC in Aspen and Denver, they seem to have never been better. The new members of the band have added new life to a rock legend.

  • who rudy

  • i jsut saw BoC july 9th in pentiction british columbia it was fuckign sick, also foghat was there they both put on a sick show!

  • I saw that too, it was so awesome, my buddy almost got one of the drumsticks foghat threw into the crowd.

  • It is really wierd seeing buck in this odd outfit after all the times i saw him in all white with that white sg kicking out the jams.

  • What is that gold shit that Buck's wearing?!

Jesus christ, talk about a victim of time.

Yeah, BOC took a step down in quality every time a Bouchard left the band. They still make okay music, but they've never been /great/ like they were.

  • I loved when Allen would play guitar, guitar wars.

  • Saw BOC encore with this song once when Al Lanier was sick and some other guy was on guitar. He was really pushing Buck and Buck was just frying the place with searing pentatonic leads. Good times, baby.

  • how long ago was the show you are talking about?

  • The band was never the same band post the great Al Bouchard. Never had another hit, never accomplished much of anything. He was irreplaceable and Downey, alas, didn't last long. Wonder why.

  • He started his own buisness and is doing very well.I worked with this band from august 1982 to dec 1990.

  • I may be in the minority, but I really love this era for Blue Oyster Cult. It was unfortunate for the dismissing of Albert from the band, but the show must go on. These guys pull everything off like nothing ever happened. They may not be the best in interviews, but they really shine bright onstage with TRATB. Rick Downey seems to fill in good as the Cult drummer.

  • that should have been allens solo, buck is the best but poor allen needs a time to shine

  • Pure. Awesome.

  • Great stuff Billy, great stuff. If there's any video of "Astronomy" in that vault of yours...... "Live 1976" was an embarrassment as far as audio quality goes, & I've never seen a good quality video of "Astronomy" ala vintage-era BOC.

  • check out the some enchanted evening reissue bonus dvd there is a 1978 live version of astronomy on it and it is perfect.

  • allen should have gotten that solo!

  • allen rocks

  • Extraterrestrial Live!!!

  • THAT WOULD BE AWSOME, if you put on the rest of this show.

    Thanks a lot!!

    5/5 STASR! Underwraps2

  • Glad you like it: More to follow!

  • Was this the BOC concert broadcast on the Blue Jean Network back in 1981-82? Great stuff, thanks for posting; how about the rest of the show?
